I did it!!! On myself! Jon explained it so well that I took the plunge... however I've been clipping my own hair for years, so prolly don't try this if you are not comfortable using clippers on your own hair. I only went 2/3 - 3/4 the way back because it's really hard to do that last dip yourself. Thanks Jon for your calm and precise explanation!!!
Thank you for this video! We live in TN, where we are #1 in the nation in Covid cases. The barber is not an option for us. Mr. Felicia needed a trim and wanted this haircut. Thanks to your tutorial, I was able to deliver! It came out great. He's really happy with the results. I couldn't have done it without this video!
I FREAKIN' DID IT!!! AND.....it looks awesome! Thank you for making this GD easy. I wish that I could post a photo. My son loves the cut and style -- but of course I did first. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making things look so easy and for taking the critical extra time to thoroughly explain everything that you did about the line. XOXO
I've watched a lot of tutorials today. This is one of the easiest to follow. I love this cut and technique. My little boy asked for a "line" in his part, so I'm going to give this a try today. Thank you!
This was so helpful in learning. Thank you. Every video is about doing a skin fade, and this one showed a realistic cut that a cosmetologist can do without a razor.
Thank you so much I'm pretty good with clippers for an amature but never learned to do the hard part. My son loves that I can do this. He has autism and prefers I do his hair. I also hook up my hubby when times are tough. 🙏 Regards for DE may you continue to prosper.
Thanks for the info. I'm just getting into doing/cutting the Hard Part. Last time I did my own and it wasn't the greatest. I'm going to cut a top line and bottom line (two line cut). I've been cutting my own hair (20yrs) ever since a kid in my Mom's Salon Shop. It's hard af to do the line farther back, and I have a short Mohawk. If you have any ideas on how to do your own Line all the way back, (yourself) I'm all ears. Most likely, going to 3d print my own guide.
Great video! Yesterday I watched the movie 7 Years in Tibet and I can't get out of my mind the hairstyle of Brad Pitt, I can't believe there is still no tutorial for it. Could you check it out? Ty
I have so much trouble trying to explain the hair cut I really want. Well THIS is precisely the hair cut I really like, however you took it to the next level! Awesome! I would like to push you out of your comfort zone and dare you to do a COMPLETE new level style, for instance in this video you could have taken the beard to the next level to complement this hair cut! Still your on a league of your own.
Double disconnected undercut. I have this but unfortunately the length of the long hair is now down to my shoulders where here in the U.K. you still can’t get a haircut! Any tips on how to cut the ends of the long hair combed to one side without it turning into a complete disaster! 😱
Been dwelling on this, haven't been able to come up with a solid idea. Basically, do you have any hairstyle ideas for when someone wants to grow their hard part back out? Mine is like half an inch right now, and my hair kinda looks meh. I am wondering if there is some type of cut I could go with, or if I just gotta live through an awkward period. Sides are about .5 - 1.5 inches (faded up), top is 4 inches. Probably just gonna have to let it grow back. :(
Adam Pandit try to blow dry the hair when you style it. it's like ironing clothes. removing the moisture with heat will help keep the hair where you want it to go. don't rely on the product to control the hair just use product to help keep it in place.
Hey man! I'm cutting my own hair, I accidentally clipped a part of my hair, so the line wasn't so straight anymore. Do you have any advice to prevent this from happening in the future? and how to I fix the line again? thanks 😭
@@TheSalonGuy Ooh cool! yeah, I was planning to grow my hair for 2 months, then cut it back to clipper number 2, but this time, I'm slapping a ruler on the part where I kinda buzzed it off so the little part starts growing, instead of buzzing it off again
Alexa Clark Yeah that’s a different style, you always have to make sure of what the client wants. My hard part goes more to the center of my forehead but is still on the side of my natural part (my left side). This is especially helpful when you get a fade on the sides because it leaves more room for the blend and allows for a bolder transition.
Thank you! Trying to teach my self how to cut my sons hair the way he wants it. He has Autism so he prefers that I do it. :)
I wish my dad did this

Definitely saving this. My boys need a cut and I need my husband to clean up my undercut. This is the most straightforward guide I've seen so far.

TheSalonGuy awesome! Steven it is really amazing what you're doing with these guys. God bless and thnx for the reply.
So many barbers do the hard part at the natural part and it just makes the shape of the head look un-even. This is the aesthetic way of parting it.

How do you make a hard part using a half on the sides? Do you have any video's on zero or half fades with a hard part?
Great haircut! Nice job!!!
I'm confused why is the clippers cordless in the video but on Amazon they have a cord ?
Jon what clippers and trimmers are you using in this video?
What type of hair clippers are you using?
What clipper brand/ model are you using ? Not T trimmer
Is your clipper for the line at zero guard? Or should I say zeroed our?
Why are the best barbers the ones who have no hair (on their head)? A ski-cap is super stylish for "some" .
My son has a cowlick in that spot in the front, should I still put the part there? Will it look funny?
Hello sir
In this video this man lift side hair is forward and mine is too like it, so is there any solution to pick those forward hair to down?
Question: What would you do if the person doesn’t want the other side fades/blended in with the top? How would you go about it?
Then don’t blend it.
TheSalonGuy So I would do the same as the other side, correct?
Sola yes it’s called disconnected. I have dozens of videos on it you can watch.

TonTon best thing to do is if you're going to fade the hair keep it super low.
TonTon Comb it towards the hard part? Lol
good job man!
I want this guy to cut my hair.
I have two lines in my hair first is failed can this goes back again naturally?
its nice see u again :)
I have my part starting at the same point but angled slightly upwards. The hair on my right parietal ridge refuses to comb over despite the length.

JonTheBarberNj I don't really want to use heat products on my hair as it is naturally thin and fine
Adam Pandit blow drying doesn't damage your hair that much tbh if you use a heat protection product
Could you use a safety razor to define the part?
