Getaway is incredibly underrated.
Not many games ever utilize modern-day England as a backdrop and Getaway really captured the gritty nature of the setting with clear inspiration to a lot of popular British crime dramas.
I know Sony SOHO are pretty devoted to VR experiences these days, but I really wouldn't mind a new Getaway one of these days. It's clear Rockstar are keen to stick to USA as a setting for GTA, so the UK scene is left untapped.
Exactly. I agree with everything you said. The Getaway could be the GTA of the UK with the same love. These games are all just amazing
I think Sony closed shop on them
They should remake 1 and Black Monday with today's graphics and gameplay. That would be epic.
I agree. Would look fantastic
More than 20 years i never ever played something that realistic in my life , it actually made me to be a hardcore gamer , i will always cherished this game in my heart . Story game play and acting was so incredible , deserve a remake or a come back . The true gta competition
This is what gaming is all about. We should all have a game that makes us feel this way. Could GTA and The Getaway both be successful at the same time if the series is revived? Personally, I think so.
No way! Only yesterday I was thinking that the getaway was an iconic game that hasn't really been covered much and when I was younger was more enjoyable than GTA
We read your mind 😁
The original getaway is my favorite game of all time, black monday was much more polished but something about the first game strikes me with great charm. Would absolutely love to have a new installment!
Originals usually go the hardest. Would be a great game to remake with some additions
Agreed, second one still satisfied my expectations.
These games are legendary, would love a remake or sequel.
Would it work of released today?
❤lovely game! We need this now for Xbox,ps4,ps5...
Exactly
As far as I know, Gangs of London (the series) is not related to the games in any way. It just shares the name and SIE has no involvement (as far as I know).
It is
These games still hold up today, we need getaway 3 or a remake.
I agree. This game would definitely hold up today
@@GameCircleTv it sucks that London Studio got shut down I’ve been hoping for some sort of remake of either of these games. Not alot of games like this anymore to be honest
@youngknight5589 The good thing is that it is still highly possible to bring these games back with enhancements.
@@GameCircleTv probably maybe Bluepoint if there was demand hopefully the devs from LS find good jobs
I Remember My OG took to Game Krazy inside of Hollywood videos Store to pick Manhunt & this masterpiece just came had to have it Classic
Facts
we need it guys
We really do
Came here to see what happened still don’t know what happened…
We still have a chance as it was not cancelled, the only thing is that the studio just got shut down so another company will have to take over
Just for future reference an AK47 is a rifle not an assault rifle. There’s no such thing as an assault rifle lol.
Are you trolling right now or being serious? Because I do not want to disappoint you
@@GameCircleTv I’m not a troll. I love the getaway one of my favorite games. But calling a rifle an assault rifle is not an accurate thing. It would be like calling a butcher knife an assault knife, a 10lbs hammer an assault hammer, etc. I’m just kind of a stickler for those kinds of things. I do wish they’d do another game on the ps5 but from what I’ve recently heard could be wrong but I think London studios pulled the plug altogether. I’m hoping not.
@TheMrDarius Sorry had to ask. There's still hope. Definitely would work on the ps5
@@GameCircleTv I’m hoping that’s the case because it was so much fun despite the quirky mechanics but they were way ahead of their time. The storyline it would definitely make an excellent movie imho
@TheMrDarius well they did already have it sort of like a movie but an actual movie for it would be a great idea. I agree on the mechanics as well. Hard to get used to
Better buy now ps3 lol
😅
U mean ps2
The getaway has to much to live up to. The violence, profanity and grittyness would not hold up to well with todays generation. Not to mention the licenseing of the vehicles and shop fronts that was used in the 1st and 2nd would cost an absolute fortune now a days. If (by miracle) the getaway was to comback it would be heavily censered and the developers would try its absolute hardest to avoid making (what todays generation would deem it) a terrorist simulator.
What makes GTA different from everything you've said? with the exception of licensed cars, which are not mandatory, btw. Why can Rockstar make the same game you just described?
@@GameCircleTv Well in gta 3 they removed the twin towers from final release sue to sensitivity. And todays generation would not take kindly to you shooting up Buckingham Palace or even massacring picadilly circus. It would be absolutely censored and would just kill the idea of the game all together.
While I do see some of your points, trust me when I say there are no issues in making the Getaway 3. Again, Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming out next year, and they probably won't respect any of the cities, and we will all eat it up with no issues. The point is that they need to drop the Getaway 3 for all of us fans, including you, im sure you want to see the revival
@@GameCircleTv tbh I'm on the fence. The getaway would be an experience this day and age. But you keep comparing gta. Gta is pretty tame to what the getaway pulled off and got away with.
The never gonna make it
With the Studio being shutdown, the only thing that can save it now is another developer with a grant from Sony
