Not a problem.
First time watching your channel. I’ve watched a million reaction videos. I would talk more about what you think about the lyrics and how the music makes you feel. It would give your video more substance. Just a suggestion. You seem like a cool guy. Best of luck. I’ll be looking out for your videos.
thanks for your suggestion I know what your saying I watch 100's of reaction videos and hear them breakdown lyrics and or musicians and I am working on getting better at that I always say to myself about many songs from my youth and still today I like to hear the lyrics and make sense of them but never really tried to analyze the meaning but this song got my attention when it starts out mentioning Bridge of Sighs and like I mention and followed up with Robin Trower song but I will try to do better
@@428chase and just be yourself! That’s the best thing to do!!!
These ranked lists are always somewhat questionable. But a lot of prominent musicians really, really like this one. So do I. And I'm always delighted when Sir Ray Davies gets some of the credit he so richly deserves.
I am surprised at the number of views thanks
They started off 'harder' than this early sixties. This is just one, when they were branching out, amongst a host of different themes. Always quirky and interesting. There's far more to the Kinks than this one song.
they have a good following
Jesus Christ! Waterloo is an underground station in London. Seriously. Take this down - it's embarrassing...
TBF, Waterloo is an area of London, named after the battle. It's not just an Underground station. He also says it's not about the battle, but about two people passing over Waterloo Bridge, though I'm not sure if he thinks it's in Belgium. Helps if you watch the whole thing.
@@I_Don_t_want_a_handle "Millions of people swarming like flies round Waterloo underground"
@@markrae1317 Indeed, but it is not just referencing the Underground, now, is it?
@@I_Don_t_want_a_handle British won a battle in Belgium at Waterloo, national pride at beating the French. Waterloo is a mainline station from south London to S E England (Portsmouth / Southampton), now has London Eye and south bank on the Thames river. Abba sang about Waterloo.I used to live in Kennington, south of waterloo, so very much of a connection.
@@philipjackson9422 I used to know Waterloo well, I worked in central London and Waterloo was the train station, and Underground, that I often used. Given the buses were so bad, I often walked to work over Waterloo bridge. It was a bit of a dump in the 1980s but whenever I crossed the bridge into Waterloo I remembered that song. Love the Kinks, BTW.
