- Since the retrospective video struck a chord with the community, I figured I'd throw together some tips and tricks videos of things I've learned over the years.

It's so sick to see new videos of End War. I wish I was a little older when I first played, rather than a whiny little kid when my units were killed to death in theatre of war. I still find it funny I named my youtube account after this game even though it bombed. So much nostalgia here. Subbed.

Little PC tidbit. You can give move orders by right clicking on the minimap. Doesn't allow for you to secure uplinks this way, so you still need sitrep or to spin the camera around to issue that. Still good for deep striking and (if my memory serves) force attacking uplinks.
That makes 2 whole PC advantages!
Unfortunately you can't use it for deep strike. A really dumb decision for some reason they don't allow it, but otherwise yeah! And you can't force attack uplinks from the minimap, but it doesn't let you attack "at" the uplink. The shots will just scatter around it rather than hitting directly!
I played Endwar once when I was young maybe like 13 and all I can remember about it was being able to command units with my voice, it was amazing
It was and still is amazing!
I remember the key to winning games was NOT triggering DEFCON because that would make units cheaper to deploy and cause games to run longer.
Also during DEFCON, you could capture an uplink and gain enough points to deep strike another uplink, causing a chain reaction. I turned around a losing game on Washington D.C doing this. Used 1 helicopter as decoy and had 1 rifleman run across the map to seize an uplink. Deep Striked a bunch of times and then outnumbered the enemy 🤣
If you thought not triggering Defcon was better, you're sorely mistaken. Securing an uplink to push DEFCON means you can deploy two more units than you're opponent, and if you're already in the lead, that helps you keep up the pressure. You are correct about the deep strike chaining. That's always a decent plan. I plan to talk more about this in the next video. 😊
I still have my endwar that i brought in 2009 with my ps3 and i still ocassionally play it
You got me to play End war again on PC.
I do wish the game did a better job at explaining things like deep striking.
Question. For upgrading units, are there any upgrades you suggest getting early on (Other than deep strike)
I always leave defense upgrades for last. Transport and Tanks Mobility is always first, then riflemen stealth. Depends on the faction really, but getting your units up to the frontline as quickly as possible is the goal.
@@icecoldsnakeYT So prioritize speed. Makes sense. I liked to play Spetnaz, so speed helps (Though I do like their tanks can later get Anti Air guns).
@@botluckproductions I like to get speed out of the way, it's usually only 1-2 upgrades for cheap. A unit can't fight if they can't get close enough! Then you start stacking on the damage for the incremental improvements. You just gave me the idea to maybe make a video about this and upgrades I avoid.
