    I can’t believe how specifically your advice to collaborate with like minded artists towards selling our art and also towards generating money towards a charity we all believe in. You just combined three or more goals I have been moving towards, in a way that makes sense for all involved. It’s so confirming of where I’m headed. Thank you so much.

    Allow me to throw another idea at you. I paint small and miniature paintings. I have found that galleries are wanting half and still are charging for wall space. I have found an upscale antique and collectable mall. I am renting two quirky areas for $75 per month. Now I have the foot traffic and I get to involve myself in selling my artwork and include pre-owned leaded crystal and porcelain objects. You'd be surprised how well art shows along side with Baccarat and Lallique.

      Sold another small painting today. That one sale has paid for my rent for the next two months.
      In my opinion, your work would show well with anything mid-century modern which is the hottest ticket in the US.

    There was one artist that collabed with one artist that had 1k and she had 100k, very nice of that artist to do. She is a doodler and has a patreon of 300+ followers. At creationceecee, Hmmm. 🤷🏻‍♀️. If you’re new, in the world do you go about finding someone who who does the same art as you, mine is mostly illustrations for children’s books, which when I approach some people they are either too busy or are looking for someone with more experience.🤷🏻‍♀️

      I have donated many items to my church and local charities, but this idea to join with other artists who believe in supporting the same charities sounds like such a satisfying idea. I can’t wait to implement it.

    • @EllenBrennemanStudio
      @EllenBrennemanStudio  4 роки тому

      Belinda, thank you for your kind words 🙏🏼💕 There are many factors taken into consideration. a) Whether that artist's work is an overall good fit with the rest of the group b) the artist should know how to engage with customers online and be selling online. c) core artists must have an established online presence already, which contributes to the group's success (it helps with group membership). For me personally, I was a working artist for 5 years before I was first asked to participate in an auction group. This is why collaboration is so important; finding others who have the same goal as you can help you get to places you want to go much faster 😊

    Oh, one question I had. I remember you said you’d built up stock of art/prints for a fair or competition that you didn’t win, but had to sell the art. I was wondering if your approach/strategy/ marketing changed to sell the extra art?

    • @EllenBrennemanStudio
      @EllenBrennemanStudio  4 роки тому

      Yes, actually! Nothing causes a person to begin thinking 'outside the box' when looking at a stockpile of merchandise. It really forced me to start searching for new venues in which to sell - both online and in person. It's taken me about 18 months but I've made all of my money back. From here on, it will be profit.
