HI Jill, I'm on my fifth Spiral Rope necklace. This has got to be one of the most beautiful necklaces I've made. Can't wait to try the Double Spiral Rope.
Thank you once again Jill. I was working on a spiral rope today for a beaded cabachon I also made today. Double spiral looks just as fun to make. I will definitely make a rope to wear just by itself. And the best part... They work up so quickly.
Beautiful design! Love it. I found the secret to be able to pick up the middle center beads is to not pull so tight. It really helped me bead faster and come out with a beautiful design. Ty for all your sharing and teaching.
Your explanations and demos are wonderful. This makes sense! I didn't think to do the flip to do the second spiral. I came up with my own technique in which I do one spiral, add the first part of the clasp, reverse and do the second spiral.
Just love your amethyst crystal in the back ground. I love your tutorials. I have been voluntary teaching beading to senior citizens and try to use your way of explaining techniques - hope you don't mind (for those who have the internet - very few - I give them your You Tube information). It is great to see them understanding what to do and finding joy in making things. Greetings from Australia.
This video for a double spiral rope is amazing. I haven't done any bleeding in a couple of years, but this was instantly understandable. I hope I can find time to make one soon, in between all my other jewelry projects. Thank you so much for this video.
I really like to do Spiral Ropes but i haven't try the double Spiral Ropes so i will get a try whit all the great tips you have show & explain it will be easy for me to do it successfully! Thank You for this very Handy video Jill!
Made a bracelet for my mother using this video. Came out perfectly! I found attaching a clasp difficult, because I was using a jump ring to connect the clasp the the beading. I should have just relied on the be beading thread. In the end, I threaded a larger bead onto the beadwork, then put the jump ring through that.
Jill, How about using a size 8 Delica as their holes are way larger. And using side beads using seed beads. I find that Delicas really do the trick when it comes to the many passes of thread being worked. Thanks again for your wonderful tips and tricks. JoAnn from ABQ,NM
Working on a triple spiral rope right now using 6/0 core beads and 11/0 seed beads, size 12 needle and 6lb thread. Seems to be working so far. I have broke one needle, but it was not a new needle, it had been used on many other projects previously
Love the symmetry of the blue rope, with the 8/0 as an accent in both the blue and the white spirals. Anxious to give this a try. Your demo is so well done that the technique looks very easy. Only question I have is, due to the color of your spine/accent bead, do you always use 8/0 for the spine? Seems like you'd have to since each spine bead (except the first 3) is passed through 3 times. Right? TFS!
I'm fairly new to bead weaving... I can do raw, have done herringbone (although I do NOT like the way it turned out - my tension didn't come out right) and now I'm trying to get a handle on spiral ropes. I've completed a single spiral rope bracelet, and I'm moving on to double spiral. Well, I am having a bit of a problem with all that thread. I'm not breaking my beads... oh no... I'm breaking my needles! Needle gets stuck in the bead, I use my pliars to pull it through... needle snaps. Any suggestions?
hi Jill, want really thank you for your wonderful tutorials videos. Do you have video CDs or books on your projects? If yes, pls i need directives on how to buy them. thanks Tonia
LB Dental It will totally depend on what beads you're using. The best way is to make a few centimeters of your rope, calculate how many beads you used in those two centimeters (or inches) and then multiply that out.

I really like when u actually make something vs the small swatches u often make.

What kind of line should we use for this?
All the beads are the same size?

Will this hold its shape? I made an embroidery pendant, not too heavy.
Yes, it will!
me encantó
How many Beads do you calculate for a 40 cm rope? Feks.
LB Dental It will totally depend on what beads you're using. The best way is to make a few centimeters of your rope, calculate how many beads you used in those two centimeters (or inches) and then multiply that out.
Would love to see a spiral rope using cubes too?
hi Jill, am new in beading, and i would want you to put me through on the spiral beads or
from the basics of beading
Omedemercy 4 what does that mean?
what size seed beads to make the spiral?
Hi....I'm new to beading. My question is....what do you place your beads on while working? My beads go all over the place! Thanks in advance!
Fugahlee Jenkins either a beading mat or a piece of felt will make it easier...
