Zoomers: I can't watch movies because my attention span is too short. Also Zoomers: I'm gonna watch a 36 hour livestream of someone playing a slot machine.
I agree with everything except that $20 million a month is "meaningless" to someone with a net worth of a few million. Come on, that's $240 million a year. That's a whole different universe of wealth. It's still morally wrong to take that deal even at that price to be clear, just focusing on that one specific point.
I really liked this video. We have gambling laws in my country and it's insane that how they are so easily (and somewhat legally) circumvented they are by using a platform like twitch. I agree with your point about them being "hypothetical pieces if shits". They are not just promoting a product or being sponsored. They are actively preying on their own weakest fans. It's predatory in nature and it's unforgivable!
I would have never started gambling if it weren't for the Twitch streams. It starts off as a curiosity but it gets out of control so quickly and before you realize it, you're a full blown gambling addict. I'm down about $4,000 and I don't know when I'll stop. A lot of it has to do with things like "The Gamblers Fallacy" or "The Sunk Cost Fallacy" but I think the thing (well really the person) that sums it up the best is comedian Norm Macdonald. Norm dealt with a gambling addiction for a long period of time and he's talked about it many times before on his podcasts or other interviews. However, he has one quote that I find to be the best summarization of a gambling addiction. The quote is : ".... it has to be something else (the reason for gambling addiction), and the best I've come up with is this: It's a particular moment, a magic moment, that occurs after the placing of a bet and before the result of that bet. It is after the dice are thrown but before they lie still on the felt where they fall. It is when the dice are in the air... and as long as they are there, time stops. As long as the dice are in the air, the gambler has HOPE. And Hope is a wonderful thing to be addicted to." Gambling streamers sell the false reality of being able to win life changing money to people across the world during a time where the economic difference between classes has never been farther all the while lining their pockets with their fan bases money. I love the disclaimers that these streamers give their fan bases while making it look incredibly fun and easy.
this has been happening well since 2016 and probably earlier dunno why it took people so long to figure this out? currently the most popular live streamers in germany both advertise gambling and scams to children
Do not get it twisted, do not gamble. Do not start gambling. Gambling is entertainment and entertainment only. You won't break even, you won't win. You won't do any of that, you understand? You will only go into debt and ruin your fucking life.
This is really fucking dark. XqC is being led around by his nose by his gambling addiction. He probably feels he needs to do this, and Stake is taking advantage of this to sell to kids. Its indefensible and really sad.
Dont make his sound like a victim, If you have seen any of his videos he knows very well what he is doing but does not care. He only cares about the money.
I hope xQc's next move is to stop this cold turkey and really tell people how bad it will unfluence their lives. No one is to tell you what to do with your life, but maybe keep the "thing you know ruins lives, but enjoy doing" to yourself.
XqC should stop advertising gambling on his stream and then go gamble on his free time until he's broke. Hopefully that lesson will stop a few people from developing an addiction later

I'm a gambling streamer myself. I never watch the big guys as I can't relate to it. They do 1000$ bets, like what the fuck? I do 0.20€ bets at, maybe 0.60€ at the highest. Rules are strict where I live, and we have active tools in my country to prevent gambling (called ROFUS) which blocks you from all gambling related sites (we use a system called NEM-ID in Denmark, which you have to use in order to login to casino's, official websites etc.) If stuff like this was implented world-wide, it would be a good solution, but it won't. I agree that gambling addiction is bad, but I enjoy it. I can control it and I only spend money I want to spend.

@@vili6632 yes I am. I've seen it first hand destroy relationships, destroy people's lives. let's just ignore the money that can be wasted in buying video games and especially skins even though that's a huge problem as well. video games are much more addicting than gambling, well a good video game is. so many young males today have terrible social skills and no skills in life because they play video games 10 hours a day. that's more damaging than losing 10k to gambling because you had a big ego and thought you could beat the odds. it's not like people don't know the house has the edge, they are delusional enough to think they can beat the house. that's why they deserve to lose their money. just like somene deserves to get fat and sick if they eat nothing but McDonalds every single meal. you can't get rid of freedoms because dumb people can't make decisions that are best for themselves. that is ridiculous.

Really good video. Looks like you've been doing this for a while even though this is the first video on this channel. Subbed
High quality vid with important information, but only 35 subs? This injustice must be fixed
great video, maybe shorten the music segments between topics by like a second or 2?
Great research though, thanks.
High quality video from a completely fresh channel reminds me of Ludwigs experimental channel.
