I'm not an expert in French sentence structure so this may not apply, but many languages are structured oppositely from English. Many times someone who doesn't know English as a first language structure their sentences as they would in their native language, and many times it comes off rude. If we were to ask "Was this film more physical for you?" someone from a non-English speaking nation might say "This film was more physical for you?". You don't always hear the question mark, and that can make it seem rude. just my 2cents
