    Colbert: "Was it good?"
Craig: "It was very good. Oedipus."

As a Canadian who celebrates Thanksgiving in October, I can never get over the fact that Americans have two huge family holidays to celebrate back to back. The Canadian timing is highly sensible. It was historically timed to celebrate the harvest. Two months later we are ready again to celebrate the holiday season, whatever religion or reason that allows you to do so. Lots of time to get over the over-indulging that tends to go on during those times. Americans barely have time to turn around before they are doing it again. My tree also goes up mid-November as I really go over the top and put in tons of effort decorating and I want to enjoy my hard work for as long as I can. Just a commentary, not a criticism. Well, maybe sort of.

What about BAR? Now say the letter "A".
And so on. Completely different sounds for the vowels than how you prounounce it. In many European and other languages, you pronounce the letter the way it sounds in a word. It takes these types of confusing pronouncing issues out of the game. There's no spelling bee in my country lol, it would be pointless.

People use them every day without even thinking. For example the pronoun I-only one vowel when written, actually has two vowel sounds when you say it-most people just don’t realize it. It’s actually an AH followed be an EE in fast succession.
