The way Matt Johnson has this quietly commanding presence without any of the overt egocentric hyperactive lead singer traits…….its phenomenal…….he delivers these songs in the most solid honest passionate way…….. sheer artistry
When i can not sit still, feeling rashes, heartbeats, goose bumbs. When my eyes get filled, throat swollens... I know I m hearing something of the very special kind.
Extrordinary good lyrics
Mind Bomb a landmark in real good lyrics
One of my most memorable concerts.....The The, Beacon Theater, 1990.

Need a blu ray of this concert.
Saw this tour in a tiny ballroom at the University of Massachusetts. Transcendent.
Man come back to Bristol !

Hoping not to provoke a controversial subject (🙈) but if you didn't catch THE THE live in 1989 or 1990 you never saw them live. Period.
Lol, that doesn't really make any sense @RichieRochdale 😉
@@testvideo44 I hate to say it, Will, but in my opinion each subsequent Tour got worse and worse after the Royal Albert Hall in 1990. The last one was dreadful.
@@testvideo44 In fact, when I created the FB group, "We Want THE THE Back!", I'm afraid it was a case of, "be careful what you wish for---", in regard to live concerts, 😢
I've been a fan since Infected first came out and have seen them live four times in various configurations. From the Albert Hall to the last tour (which I really, really enjoyed, especially as Matt played tracks from Burning Blue Soul). But my favourite was the NakedSelf tour in 2000 at the Portsmouth Pyramids. This was a far smaller venue, Matt and his band sounded amazing and the musicianship was on another level. I hope he's still making music when we're all in our 70s.
@@wowmedialtd I do appreciate that my opinion won't be popular but I can only say it as I saw it. THE THE were mind-blowing on their "Versus The World" Tour. I saw them at Aston Villa Leisure Centre in '89 and, yes, at the Royal Albert Hall on the last night of the Tour (the one that was filmed by Tim Pope). Each subsequent Tour that I attended, they became progressively worse---. The Meltdown Festival performance in 2002 was a real low-point but that last Tour---, 🙈 Sorry, guys, it was Cocktail Lounge Jazz versions of THE THE; DC Collard doing a particularly bad impersonation of John Shuttleworth. Unacceptable.
