Very good idea!! I checked the video, at the beginning of the 2nd phase, after I drank everything and walking towards him when he is descending, there was opportunity to use the ash of war. If that was success, I would have killed him before he jumped into the sky. Thanks.
I am not there yet. If the boss's HP is a problem in ng+7, we might need to focus on fast bleed build up. For claws, we can try other claws such as bloodhound claw with either bleed infusion or quality infusion with bloodflame blade buff on. Cheers!
Yeah on ng2 or 3 and I don’t do close to his damage and I take twice as much as he is somehow when I’m 60 lvls higher then 150 so went with 80vigor and still getting two or 3 shotted
Man I thought the whole point of using these was the shotgun ash of war? Whats the point of fighting this way if you can put bloodflame or proc deadly poison & bleed on regular venemous fangs.
I can't manage to make the ash of war to deal decent damage yet, while it is very good for fighting mobs. Venemous fang can be another very good build. But Claws of Night's damage scaling is really cool.
Actually I defeated the final boss in the dlc with the bloodhound claws Saturday night. So not the world first. Close though 😉 But in your defense, it took me 4 hours to do it because it was my first time.
@@casualgg your build did way more damage than mine did. If I actually got to hit him without interruption, I did massive damage, buy I didn't know about the iron aromatic perfume
@@Karnicide Yeah, the key is to beat non-stop 🙂 Ironjar aromatic is in the base game, while I barely used it before until this boss.... I was thinking in NG+7, we may actually need to use bloodhound claws focusing on faster bleeding. Any chance to share your build briefly?
@@casualgg heavy affinity strength build. I went with quick step ash and had 60 in vigor and then used a lot of defensives oh and blood flame incantation
That's the uplift aromatic. I casted it at the beginning of phase 2, it made us almost immune to his explosion. For this reason, we don't need to heal, and we can start beating him right away after he comes down.
With the initial buff wore out, it still did 30k damage to Mesmer second phase in the above linked video. Absolute number may not make sense, while we can see the difference with other builds. Even without buffs, this build shreds.
@@casualgg I know ;), but howl of shabribi, dumpling, golden vow, maddening hand etc. Hes probably not coming close to your damage because your videos showing it doing about +70% or more damage than without.

Has anyone tried this on later ng+ levels? I found this after just beating the final boss 😢 plan on starting over in the next few days.

Using literally every single boost armour weapon all of it
I can vouch I’m about level 240 something. I wasn’t using the golden hair lock for damage reduction though. But yeah not even close to that damage

@@Karnicide Great! Defensive buffs might be the key the designers want us to use in the DLC. They were not getting much attention in the base game.

The damage is coming from around 100 buffs before the fight 😜.
