    If that were my child, I would not wait for a locksmith if its 102 degrees outside. The window is getting broken immediately.

      Same!
      I know this is different circumstances but a gal came to my house to give me some papers.
      Not wanting her to see my messy house I decided to meet her on my driveway.
      I was outside for about two minutes, durring this time my 2 year old son figured out how to deadbolt my door.
      I felt like a horrible mother and tried to keep it together while I played peekaboo with him through the window. (Since my house is air conditioned and he was safe I opted to not break a window and just call my husband to come from work to unlock the door since it was just a ten min drive.)

    • @jasminecarroll9788
      @jasminecarroll9788 Рік тому +31

      The main reason she's giving him a hard time over the dumpster is because a majority of the mess the defendant left behind is stuff that could be thrown away in a regular trash can and wouldn't require a whole dumpster to be rented. If the plaintiff has other things he needs to get rid of, and he's using this as an opportunity to do that free of charge, that's not fair to the defendant. The main thing he's saying he needed the dumpster for on the defendant's behalf are the mattresses, and there's a question as to whether or not the mattresses were hers or his. I guarantee you, if she had brought the mattresses that had to be disposed of with her and then left them there, or if she left other larger items that required a dumpster to dispose of, JJ would have authorized the charges for the dumpster without question.

    • @jedimasters1462
      @jedimasters1462 Рік тому +11

      @@jasminecarroll9788If it's stuff the defendant damaged, she should still pay something, even if it's just the cost of the dumpster. With the mess she left behind, it's fair to believe that she did damage to things.

    • @jasminecarroll9788
      @jasminecarroll9788 Рік тому +9

      @@jedimasters1462 he would have to prove she damaged it and that NO ONE else in the house caused any damages, which is unlikely. To say "look at the mess she left, so it's likely see caused the damage," is a huge leap, especially without knowing how the other people in the house live. They might live just as messily, after all, they lived with the defendant like that for over a year. Just because the plaintiff says it doesn't make it true. And people have a responsibility to mitigate their damages. The plaintiff never raised an issue about the stuff until after the defendant moved out. If she was causing that much damage while she was there, he should have kicked her out or forbade her from using the stuff. He's not suggesting it happened overnight. His claim is that she damaged the stuff over the course of the time she was there, and at some point it becomes your responsibility not to continue to allow your things to get damaged.

    • @brittanymorabito1418
      @brittanymorabito1418 Рік тому +2

      Hmm it’s definitely a tricky one but I’d have to agree with judge Judy. He bought the mattresses for her, if he didn’t like the way she was treating the furniture in the house he should have said something earlier/asked for momentary compensation, rather than hire a whole ass skip bin. Just put the mattress on the kerb and call council pickup (much cheaper/free) if you don’t want them.

In the case of cults, groomers, or other aspects of stockholm syndrome, someone can easily be able to as you say 'breed' but absolutely cannot be expected to take responsibility for themselves in the same degree of an adult.

    It's weird though. He got the dumpster to get rid of items because she damaged it. Just trying to follow. He didn't WANT to get rid of it, and it is technically his, but he HAS to get rid of it. And the reasoning is that he allowed her to live there with him and her mother with their kids, so he has to just deal with it because they were there by his consent, and he should've asked them to move sooner. One of the first times not sure I agree, but eh it's irrelevant lol - must be something else to it.

    • @uluruise
      @uluruise Рік тому +11

      Think of it this way. Your parents raise you. They provide you room and board while you’re underage. You, as kids do, damage said room and board. You, as kids do, eventually grow up and decide, “I want to leave.” Or some parents kick their kids out, whichever the case may be.
      Can your parent then give you a bill for all the items you damaged while living under their roof as a child because now you’re an adult?
      This man took in that risk when he allowed his partners child (while she was underage) to move in. Parenting is an occupational risk.

    • @alex1vid
      @alex1vid Рік тому +1

      @uluruise Put like that, it does make more sense. I think I was imagining it from the standpoint of her being at least 18 or over, due to the kid(s). The issue and difference though is still consent. As a parent it's mire than obligation and i think the hang-up here is "choice" because he made a decision.
      But in this case there's some lament and regret since it clearly didn't work out the way he or her mother thought it would - the end was telling.

    I worked outside for years in a parking lot when I worked at Costco. I got involved in several instances where kids and animals, mainly dogs, were left inside vehicles on extremely hot days.
    Never got to the point of breaking a window because while I observed them they never entered a distressed state or displayed signs of heat exhaustion or stroke. But there were a few close cases and if the respective owners of the vehicles didn't show up when they did, I would have shattered the windows then and there.
    I did give a few people a firm talking to about heat and the dangers of being left inside a car. Shame on people who believe that behavior is worthy of raising a child.
