Such a beautiful song! i only began listening to Metallica after having ignored them for many years and had not realised how damned beautiful much of their music is. I have been learning guitar a couple of years now nd have developed a curiosity about many bands I have not ever properly listened to. I have to say I was so surprised and learning their music on guitar is such a delight. At age 62, I had wished so much I had done this so many years ago. I love your video, you have a nice calm way of instruction and intend to follow many more ! X

It’s not just your expertise with playing the guitar, it’s also the way you convey what you are teaching. You have a very soothing and patient sounding voice which makes the student (even if just on UA-cam) receptive to what and how you explain everything.
Maybe you’re a teacher (not just guitar) in real life......if not, you should be!

I have been learning to play for the past 10 years from teachers online. Once you have the basics down pat you will not find tutorials than Shutup & Play! Thank you for all your hard work and keep them coming. Why the hell anyone would give this a thumbs down is beyond me.
Absolutely fascinating, such a wonderful sound and so beautifully demonstrated here, makes me want to try to play again as I gave up years ago!
when i first picked up the guitar, 2 years ago, this was the first song i tried to play.

I have watched a lot of video lessons on how to do this song and this one is by far the most accurate and detailed, in line with the original. I enjoy the ease And calm of the instructor’s teaching and he really explains things in such depth that much of the assumption and guesswork has been taken out of the lesson. I tried this two years ago and gave up since it was too advanced and I have only been playing for 1.5 years at that point (I was a 43 year old beginner). Now, two years later and with the help of this lesson, I now can play the first four minutes. Some parts very slowly, but it is progress. This is THE lesson to follow if you want to play it right and play it well. Thank you.
Another classic played and taught wonderfully. I am on state benefits and struggling with the £, but when i get some spare cash i promise i will donate. It's guys like you that have kept me going the last couple of years. I wanted to give up on life totally through illness but picking up a guitar again and learning great songs has put some sparkle back.

Ear training is the best exercise,being able to identify notes on their own and chords and the notes that make them,ie 1,b3,5,7 etc.
One of the best instructors on the web, if not the best.

That is a very nice warm sounding guitar. That's the difference folks, nice acoustic sounds makes the song leap out and inspires you to play with soul and conviction. A great 6/8 time signature with accents on the 1 and 4. Great lesson buddy.

Fantastic tutorial! My level is +/-0 and it takes 3 days to learn it (but syrely it will take three more to lick it up)). You are the best teacher, as many people wrote here.
