Nah literally sword and shield took a risk by breaking Pokémon’s formula and by god did it succeed it wasn’t perfect but having played every game since fire red this is one of my absolute favorites. The vibe, the music, the rivals. All spectacular

I honestly like gen 9 more than gen 8 despite its problems I loved the open world exploration it made filling out the pokedex fun again. But I do think gen 8 was ragged on too much. Everything but the open area was so polished and fun, and everyone (but rose) were such great characters. I fw with the gyms SO MUCH.

Unsure if you did this already, but you should look into doing the Mystery Dungeon line of songs as part of the series.
Pokémon Sword and Shield never deserved all the hate they got. The actual criticism was one thing but these games were like their Mascot Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta. They took so much heavy damage and were still by our side and loyal to us no matter what. And we should love and respect them for that even if they did have their flaws.
Also I'm so glad somebody else finally noticed the Team Rocket Easter Egg in Piers's Theme. Also Hop was probably the best Friendly Rival character ever even still to this day because he was essentially the main protagonist without being the main protagonist and had to come to the realization of that yet still found a way to be the very best he could be like no one ever was.
And the Memes of Gen 8 were like both we've seen before and still arguably like nothing we've seen in Gen 9 with Scarlet and Violet with the sheer overwhelming volume of content that just instantly took off. Gen 8 hits like a whole new world, gigantic and to the max.
Pokemon sword and shield are by far the most boring, by the numbers games of the series

These games were clearly rushed and I have long critiqued them since the very start. Especially for being rushed. But I said here that the hate they have received has been largely unwarranted and that is in large part due to a CERTAIN individual on this platform and their little cult following who have long since loved being overtly toxic and complaining and starting drama for the sake of their own fragile little impotent egos. And they were in fact a large part of the controversy and negativity behind these games and generation 8 as a whole. With said pitch black stain on not one but two different fandoms even going as far as to supposedly ranting and going on how LEGENDS ARCEUS was BAD. Which I still can't believe partially because it is so unbelievably obtuse and quite frankly yes, quite possibly the worst take. But then again said pitch black stain was never one for being able to see that the world is not Black and White and never has been or will be. But of course the second I started to mention such he immediately harassed me along with his live chat with him even saying "You're opinion is retarded, if you like Gen 5 then you don't get an opinion anymore. Sorry but your opinion fucking sucks and you're retarded for it."
Again, same individual and his cult following were a LARGE percentage of the people who were doing shit like SENDING DEATH THREATS and spamming hate comments and shit on Twitter to the Devs. So before I actually give you a list of reasons why I believe through my OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS AND OPINION BASED ON CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM I just wanted to set the record straight and clear up any potential misunderstanding here from my doing. And no, I am in fact NOT upset at you or your questioning me because I like to have honest discussions about things like this so long as people are willing to listen and keep an open mind. But I must admit I was there for the beginning of the shitshow that was Dexit and Publicify's Toxic, Venoshock, Acid Downpour combo which certainly played a major role in tge unwarranted negativity which was all destructive criticism with no offered solutions or constructive feedback or suggestions. Just wanna make sure that we are in fact on the same page here before I give you The List.

If you mean the best theme in this game, hell no - it's extremely overrated and overshadows some great tracks like Oleana's battle theme.
If you mean best Gym Leader theme - the Paldea one is leagues (pun intended) better, and even makes the crowd chanting thing actually sound good.

Gen 8 was not as bad as people said. The soundtrack is a banger, the outdoor environments were really good, and the wild area was also fun to explore with people! Definitely more put together than the gen 9 games lol

@@SMCwasTaken it has a good story pokemon but that's where my compliments my only complaint with Sword and Shield is it's story I don't hate either how people say it's good because of the amont of freedom when it's not like that it's the same linear path due to level caps yeah you can do it in whatever order you want yeah sure but staring with something like a high level gym or the dlc is pointless I'd have to level and get a team ready and even then that just makes previous gyms much easier and a breeze why calling it "open world" is the biggest overstatement the game's first dlc was disappointing with content sword and shield had good first dlc with lots of tasks to do after you finished the first dlc but the teal mask barely offers anything except completing the dex

The funniest thing about Gen 8 will always be Rose being set up as a sympathetic not-really-evil villain despite having by far the most sinister sounding BGM in the entire franchise
I think Ghetsis's themes at the very least tie him on that, but I do 100% agree that his theme is insanely sinister for a not-so-evil guy. I really like it though, it's up there with B1W1 Ghetsis and DPPt Cyrus for my favorite main antagonist battle theme.

I think I just realized something. I feels like the reason why your gen 5 music hits hard was the most viewed one, beside that gen 5 music do hits hard, its because you're using edited scene to potrait the music, not the in game scene. Finding the music's harmony with other scene outside the game I think was one big point why your gen 5 music content are worth to keep rewatched.
Vs. Leon Champion, Vs. Master Mustard, Marnie’s Final, Hops Final Battle, and The vs Legendary Dynamax Raid theme are some of my favs from Gen 8, and the Leon Battle Tower theme and One Winged Dad Bod ofc

The energy, aesthetic and music of this game made me love it despite all of its flaws. Yes, I couldn’t get my favorite pokemon in it until I paid for an expensive DLC, but i still do find this game worth to play. Especially for the characters that are full of personality

I will not stand this Storming Rose Tower slander. it's a perfect "Raiding _Area 51_ a multi-million dollar organization to tell our friend's brother he's late for dinner and nobody's gonna stop us" theme, and gives me some big "Escape Honeyloon Ridge" from Super Mario Odyssey vibes. the fact that the cutscenes and the battles flow into each other smoothly all while the track keeps playing makes it even better, as it feels like a proper enemy rush where you know you're going to kick ass. Legit one of my favorite Galar themes and I wish Masters EX had remixed it.

People wanna act like gen 8 dropped the ball with the graphics as if the only single way gen 8 dropped the ball at all was not by lack of reference to kanto version of the birds' theme within the galar birds' music. They could have even just ported the version from LGPE entirely! They literally had something perfectly usable and threw it away in exchange for a song that was honestly kinda mid at best.
