I love this. People get too hung up on the expected. I took the whole coastal colour vibe and put it into an English cottage look as I didn't want traditional English cottage or the all white modern farmhouse. By using the coastal colour vibe I got light and bright but cozy.x

Really lovely - so restful and welcoming but super fun too! With shells displayed in every nook and cranny it is busy but with the cohesive color scheme it works so nicely!

Im not sure hot to explain this or get this feeling across but here it goes. Something so fundamental in Bridgette’s decorating style is EXACTLY my mom. I’m seriously in tears here. I lost my mom in 2015 and she is why I watch all of you talented women. She instilled the love of beauty and fanned my creative flame my entire life. I love the way, as you said, she is able to grab something at HG and make it unique once it’s home. I feel the love for her family here. My mama was brilliant at this. Truly ❤️

A very English Victorian style. Remember they were the original collectors - think shell grottoes. Maximalism, collections and comfort. Great idea going for the sand colour as a change from the sea colours. That’s why it still works as a beach house. Lovely! Well done!

It's such a happy color and Sarah is right I have never considered it for overall nautical, which tbh I don't really like all the typical style. Bridget, your home is amazing! I absolutely love it! This is beautiful. The view is breathtaking. I wonder how she dusts everything, particularly the shells.... The kitchen is definitely too dark and would benefit a light cream/yellow/buttery color. I absolutely love the paintings, oil or watercolors and the arrangement in the master bedroom. The leaving room is also very bright and beautiful. As well as this terrace and garden ! Thank you for sharing !
What a beautiful home. You are so right, this is nautical but done in a totally different style. I so love lots of lamps. The ambiance in the evenings is so inviting. Especially as we go into the colder months. I actually look for vintage inspired light bulbs to have even more ambiance in the house. We live by a lake for the last two years and we are slowly making our home to reflect where we live. It takes time, but it is worth it.

I really love how everything was designed. Usually I can’t stand beach house decor. Especially those bedspreads you always find in them that remind me of a motel 6. 🤣. I love the neutral colors. It’s all very tasteful ~Janet 😘

Bridget has a wonderful eye for style, shapes and color. Y’all remember that these items are a lifetime of collecting. I have to admit that I am uneasy with so many sea shells, because the market for them means they were poached from the ocean. Of course, this wouldn’t include shells found on the beach. But one doesn’t find large chunks of coral on the beach. Please do faux when you can, or treat each one as you would a gem.

Very cute pro tip and accompanying smile at the beginning. I have a beachy decor as well and have apparently instinctively followed your friend's path, though not as elaborately. My "life" shells (also from a lifetime of wandering beaches with family) are scattered throughout the house. Such sweet reminders. But I love the colors of the ocean and lakes, muted turquoises, blues and greens. So I have one wall that's soft blue/turquoise in the living room and one in the kitchen that's pale turquoise/green. You can see both at the same time. It reminds me of beach glass my sister and I hunted on the shores of Lake Superior. I also used all those ocean and beach colors in my bath where I have a basket full of washcloths. My bedroom decor is more lake-like, with maps of the lake I grew up on in northern Minnesota. But you're right about kitschy signage, no, no, no! My final color to blend with all this is a soft, old gold. It's in the shells, pillows, throws, lampshades and baskets. It reminds me of the warm sand I squish my toes in.❤️🐚⛱️

I enjoy her living room but there's too many seashells she might not have the signs she may not have the blue and the grays but she has a whole bunch of seashells and too much I'm not a designer but sometimes people go overboard with the little things, and I fine that having to fill every single spot every single wall with a whole bunch of things is not really decoration it now goes into having a display like in a antique shop that's how it starts looking like to me I could be mistaken but when I'm in my home I want to be able to have my eyes relax not constantly feeding because there's so many things to look at.
It just depends, people can go through different seasons in life, too and want memories versus simple surroundings. For those that like to see their memories out, I think this is the way to go.
