was exactly what i needed, thanks for the extra long version. i have watched something similar several times but never really understood it, then i watch a blender secrets video and it works the first time. great work, thanks a lot
I just bought my copy of your Blender Secrets. I love the page layouts. It is easy to follow your tutorials. It is well worth the money. Thanks for writing the ebook.
I don't think that you understand how much I have learned in such little time after watching this. I got out of bed just to try this out, your epic for making this
After some time watching your videos i bought your ebook this week, love the shorcuts, and how its organized. As allways all you do its ultra useful, thank you so much for helping us have fun with this great program that is Blender. You make a difference.
@@lavatr8322 I think I was referring to being able to click out straight lines (zbrush has this weird "backtrack" feature for straight lines) and the the ability to set consistent depth for the stroke?
I think the quadsphere is just the same as a 3x subdivided cube so you could probably save a little time starting the tutorial with "select cube and push ctrl+3"
Hi ! Your tutorials are really Amazing. But can you let me know how to copy the animation of one mixamo character and how to shift animation to another character. Thanks!
@@BlenderSecrets brush optimization I want you to watch zbrush artist using damstandard and clay buildup both behave way different then their blender counter part and are better for detail both have more power and in way make their blender counter parts look plane and soft since blender doesn't has xtractor brush for you to project your own detail I want you to make video/shorts on how to make your own alphas and how they work
First of all, thanks a lot for all your videos, those are some amazing high quality and straight forward content. I'd like to ask you if you know how to do stitches in sculpt mode using alphas, like substance do with texture maps. Is that viably possible?
i have a question about the cavity option, im currently making a type of robot for 3d printing, will the cavity affect the result when 3d printing or is that just for yourself in blender
@@90bubbel60 I mean, if you make geometry changes with sculpting, it's really displaced the geometry. As opposed to say, using a Bump or Normal map to "fake" displacement. That would not work with 3D printing (although, you can still convert it to real displacement this way: ua-cam.com/video/AOdpGgqIub8/v-deo.html)
I don't think I've used 100+ million polys before in ZBrush 😅 Certainly not necessary, if you split it up in multiple subtools. Maybe you mean if you count all the individual subtools up? You can do that in Blender as well, just use separate objects each with Multires modifier. Turn on the modifier only on the object you're working on.
what's this? a full video from Mr. incomplete shorts? Let's see if he lies about his thumbnail, spoiler the video has nothing to do with the thumbnail.

Nothing like opening up a video and the first phrase is already "Let's add a round cube"
No time to waste! :)
Love the longer format with all the related tips
Thanks, glad the response is so positive. I'll try to do them more often. It gives me a chance to add some more details.
You get a like from me just for not wasting my time with an intro. Thanks for getting straight to the point.
Using for years.. i still can learn, thanks to you offcourse...
8 mins tutorial with more information is awesome 👍
Never really knew how powerful the blender brush was till now. Amazing!

Seriously just watching this is melting my mind im blown away that you can create details with alphas so easily
one of the most useful tutorials out there. thank you very much
This was a LOT of information in a very short video, I learned a ton of useful tips from this. Thank you so much.

wow this is a detailed tutorial, thank you so much.
I _LOVE_ the Bezier masking "path" tool! I think ZBrush only has "Lazy-Draw." Thanks for this video!
These are so to speak Blender tutorials from another planet. Possibilities that I never heard before. 👍
Thank you this helped me so much
Excellent video! A so rich information given with such simplicity! Many thanks for it!
Wow, Blender has some features that Zbrush could definitely use! Excellent video, as always
what are those features that Zbrush isn't able to do? just curious

A eight minute video? Just bring it on. Helped a Lot. Tnx again bro.👏👍
This is like if Ian Hubert and Andrew Price had a baby! Amazing how a 8 min video feels very light.
Very nice set of information on sculpting. Thank You! 🙂
This is straight sauce!...Thanks for the tutorial
Thank you for the tutorial, very helpful.
Very useful as always, thank you!
thank you, thank you very much for both tuts 1 & 2 !
OMG I LOVE YOUR LONG TUTORIALS

Thank you very much, this is a super usefull tutorial.
Super useful! Congrats and thanks.
We could make easily a covid virus model with alpha textures maybe. 😃
Thank you for the great video
This video delivers!
Very nice
could you make a video about the process of projecting the sculpted details onto a low poly mesh?

Great video !
Thanks
werry good video thanks alot
awesome, thanks
Bruh .. 👌🏾your videos
amazing
Great Bro..
If your alphas are repeating go intro texture properties under mapping extension set to clip instead of repeat.
I think the quadsphere is just the same as a 3x subdivided cube so you could probably save a little time starting the tutorial with "select cube and push ctrl+3"
a subdivided cube isnt a sphere, you would need to add and apply a cast modifier to it with set to "sphere"
Here's the problem, 1 year later and now that "Set Persistent Base" Button is missing.......Any one know where the hell it went? Kindly and Ty.
Can we use stroke for inserting rivets with adjustable space between each rivet??
Parabéns pelos tutoriais! gostaria de saber onde encontro os alphas desse tutorial grátis? Obrigado!!!
i can't get the stroke to draw the mask at 3:35, holding ctrl and clicking just draws more points!
enter also doesn't work..
can't be in lasso mask for this to work :p
F9 in blender 2.92 at 0:14 is not working for me :(. By the way, another great tutorial guys! Many thanks.
It works up to a point - once you've "confirmed" the creation of the primitive, you can no longer access that menu.

make one on detaling like zbrush

Software agnostic is cool term
Haha yeah it's weird but it's a real thing: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnostic_(data)
I have to have INSANE high subdiv levels in Multires to have a somewhat decent quality of these alphas on my mesh :/ Too high to be of some use sadly

Cool, but alpha brush technique for Zbrush, because for good quality need 100+ millions polygons per model, and blender in this case pretty bad
