I'm always impressed by people using brushes. I can use smooth and the regular tool (the first at the top) and I'm happy when they work, which is rare. But there are people who can use the other tools as well, fascinating
when making circles, make them with sides of mutiples of 4. such as 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32 etc. and preferably not multiples of 5, 7, 11, 13 etc. such as 20, 28, 44, 52, etc, if can be avoided. unless those numbers are prefered, as in 5 spoked wheels, or similar.
When scaling to 0 to flatten set Transform Pivot Point to Active, then the scale will happen around the active vertex letting you pick where to flatten to.
Good tips, but instead of saying to extrude multiple edges separately and then merge some of the vertices, you could've just extruded the entire set of edges, then move the "merged" edges back a bit. I.e. going from 3-to-1, just extrude the 3 together, then move the middle one back a bit, then fill.
this Shortfor topo flows nailed it... I want to know more..Topology flow change on b3d standard 3d primitivs (organic , sub D., non sub D., mirrored sym, & retopo) and how this change influence to the model would be interesting shorts..
Not in general I believe, because it's missing one vertex. Regarding several trinangles next to each other (clean up) = Ctrl+F --> "Tris To Quads (Alt+J)" Regarding triangles from beveling, the addon "MeshMachine" is doing a pretty good job.
I think the keybind Alt-J does what you're after. If that's the wrong keybind then I'm not sure what it is as I haven't used it often, but there definitely are quad-to-tris and tris-to-quads functions. Should be found in Edit Mode. For the nicest look you'll want to try "Beauty" out in the tool settings or whatever the little sub-menu is called that pops up in the vuewport when performing an action. If Beauty doesn't look good then you'll have to either play with the tool settings or manually attempt retopo which is easier than it looks
Is a text engraving on a curved surface (like a cylinder), where the engraving goes around 3/4 of the circumference of the cylinder, possible with subdivision surface modifier and light geometry? Seems like its impossible in Blender without distortion of the surface. I.e. a subd model (subd not applied).
you can leave the cylinder subdivided as you want it, then boolean the text into it. maybe that is what you are looking for. the text is sharp edges now, you can add a bevel node in the material shading to make edges rounded. this is a really quick way and works in most cases for me.
then you are on the right path watching this kind of tutorials of the principles of topology (basically the grounds of any project), keep up! maybe one day we all will see the light at the end of this tunnel 😅
Whoa, topology gold! From my perspective, I think you may be going about your monetization backwards, i.e., you should make the videos the saleable item and the book the teaser. As a boomer, a 20th Century man in the 21st Century, this is all confusing to me, because the world is upside down for the most part, BUT I think reading is avoided as much as possible, and so 20th Century. If I had a choice between watching a video or reading a book about it, I'd watch a video. This is only not reasonable in technical fields like STEM subjects that require lots of formulas or memorization of things which is not the case here. Then again I come from a time when the chrome was thick and the women were straight.
Don't forget about the Slide Relax brush in Sculpt Mode. If used with shift, it relaxes the topology without losing its volume!
Wow this tip saved me from so many headaches!

very useful tips, thanks for sharing
great tip
i started to retopo my first character yesterday!! talk about timing!!! thank you
You changed my life, sir. I spent a lot of time to fix them, edge by edge, vertex and vertex. Cry a river. Thankssssssss
The most important Retopo Guide of all time, Easy and Smooth 🙏🏻, Thanks
One of the coolest tips vids around.
самий найкращий навчальний урок який я бачив👍👍
the e-book is a must have!!
Thank you Manfred!
Thank you for this 🙏 I've always had problems with topology
this channel is gold
its amazing! so many cool tips! thank you!
I can't believe it, just what I needed for retopology, super fast and practical. Thanks a lot! 😁👍. this is gold!
You are a hero ! Thank You.
Really great stuff! Extremely useful.
So helpful. Thank you for the great so helpful and life saving turtorials
Excellent ideas sir
These tips are super useful. One of your best vid yet👌
This was a really useful video for me as a newbye
SUPER! Very meticulous labor. Thx. You are the best!
clean tips :)
It will be extremely useful!
Key explanations when working with models from Photogrammetry.
Very useful info, thanks!
So satisfying
This is amazing, thank you very much!

I can't agree with you more. I was thinking about it too< why should i merge vertecies, if i can just move edge
This was so useful. Thank you so much for this. I also bought your E-book. Love your content!
Thank you very much. This is very useful and works even on my 2.79. :)
Very helpful, Thanks for sharing 😀
I'm curious which keystrokes tool used in video ?
love all your unique fantastic videos thank you so much! :)
Як круто) дякую за вашу роботу!
You are so good
amazing
Can I ask a simple question. What's the difference between pressing Shift-V and G-G? They're both edge slide, but seem to work differently?
You can use G-G for edge also, but shift v for Vertex only
tyvm
you could press s, x, 0 to flatten the side surface 3:50
Great tips.. thank you. Do you sell a dvd or online course where all your short useful tips are in videos?
The link is at the end of the video. And here: blendersecrets.gumroad.com/l/IxofeY/

first one thnx i was searching for it in lightwave3d its name spinquad.
Love the content! Do you know if there is a way to turn triangles into squares?

you can turn triangles to quads with Alt+J,
Or just follow better edgeflow while modeling
Wait werent there sides that being overlap/stacks by other sides if you extract each side seperately?
Awesome
my top Blender channel i will unsubscribe from the rest

Sir what is deference between geometry and topology and mesh

@@SapiensVirtus I'm studying it for 10 years...
Suzanne is actually a really good model to just add and play around with fixing topology lmao
Huge fan of the default Cisco hold music vibe.
what! a long tutorial? you joined tue dark side of the algorhytm I see
👍

Why is his profile picture the Coin Hunt World Green Vault 🤣
this is the part of Blender that I wish it would just automatically fix itself
Surprisingly difficult to grasp, for me anyway. Perhaps it is my innate stupidity.
g/g/e, my blender crashed...
very useful, thank you!
