This is a sponsored video. However when brands reach out to me to make a sponsored video, I make it clear to them that my approach when recording is; whatever happens happens and WILL stay in the video.
This means If there is a piece of gear I can't get to sound well, it's going to show in the video and that's something the brands need to keep in mind when sending me stuff. My priority is to deliver honest videos.

In a youtube universe filled with review videos featuring guys endlessly "blues" noodling, your channel always brings the heavy distorted tones. I can't believe that the majority of guitarists out there are all playing strats through twins in hopes of sounding like SRV. Thanks for providing content for the guitarists that love cranked amps, distortion pedals and everything "High Gain!"
You seem to watch wrong UA-cam. I`ve seen guitarists with Dean Razorback in hopes of sounding like Pantera and lots of other metal wannabees much more often than someone trying to replicate the SRV tone. Don`t mind of both, though
Slayer! Satan! No mids! :P love your channel Ola keep it up!
I feel the exact same. Same old blues riffs in a low to mid gain tone. Blah. Grandpa tones!
@@robertciaschini7625 LOL
Distorted tones including burping ftw!
Thanks for the watch guys, but wait until you see the video tomorrow!!! It's fabulous,... just like my hair, so subscribe so you don't miss...
Groovy! I’m quickly running out of videos to watch, even the ones on your gaming channel. =}
I'm officially subscribed sir. Love yer vids and sense of humor.
whats the difference to the red truck? do they use different dsps? or chips?
wamen. ples subscribe to his channel. We need more wamen
G'day Ola
Whats your analysis on the new Soreption album: Monument of the end?
F@#king melted my face off!
Hope you and family are well..much love from Australia \m/
I love that the knobs light up when you activate the block...
I was actually pleasantly surprised by the high gain settings on that. Very nice work from Mooer. Thanks for the video, Ola.
I watched a one minute Mc'Donalds ad for you Ola. It was awful..
hold me
Ricky Z i didnt know until his last video that he gets payed by minutes we watch, i also watch them now whole :)
2 ads here, Ola owes me a cup of coffee. Lucky him I don't drink covfefe
Someone informed me that if you don't want to watch long ads, just click on the ad, hit back to come back to the video, and you can watch the video with the UA-camr still getting full pay.
Ads? I don't have any ads on UA-cam ;)
Pretty appropriate for a Mooer pedal.
I love the fact it has an effects loop. that unit is excellent.
Just got mine hours ago. My first impression of it is good. Haven’t put it through my normal amp yet but I love the simplicity of it having everything I really need and it’s compact. No rats nest of cables to hook up. Loads of gain!!!!
Exactly
Sounds killer, also very interesting the choice of putting an EQ
I'm actually impressed by the pedal even has a Noise Gate
I lost it at 'SPACE!' Seems like a nice little multi-effect. Good price point as well.
Love the flailing arms ola. Adds character to the videos. Keep up the good work man.
Is a cow a Mooer?
Daniel Keown underrated fucking comment
Now you’re just milking it. 🙈🤘😂
@@H_A_R_M Show me Mooer, but he called it Mower like its for a Lawn lol. kind of like a cow eats lawn......now I am confused.
Cow? Possibly... Rosie O’Donnell? Certainly!
I'd say yes, unless it's a mute cow. Then it'd be a non-mooer, I guess? I know they refer to a cow without legs as "ground beef" Also, a hear a masturbating bull is known as "beef strokin-off".
Mine came yesterday and it's effing amazing. The hi gain section is a little over the top, but I may actually rip it out and insert a Mooer Black Secret (love that pedal)circuit in there. Instant Gilmour in a box. Especially for Wall/pulse tones.
Mooer makes great stuff and a lot of their best stuff is on here. Yellow comp, green mile, mooer EQ, eleclady, trelicopter, echoverb module.... It's all legit. Once I swap in the rat clone, all I'll need to do is put a vibe/Leslie pedal in the trucks fx loop and boom. Oh and maybe a wah and a DigiDrop pedal in front.
5 presets that can also switch on the internal fx loop is brilliant. Both live and preset modes are very usable and gigging will be much simpler. This was an easy purchase once I realized how much I could simplify my rig.
I always prefer amp distortion, but who knows... Maybe I can modify the Hi Gain more to my taste with some different components. I really wish they put the black Secret in that section, but I get what they were going for. As is, it's almost tesseract in a box.
The red truck kicks ass, but this is even better. Some people may actually like the hi gain section, but it only sounds good to me through my Marshall and closed back cab. The hi gain sounds kinda bad through my fender because the mids are already missing on that amp (most high gain pedals sound crap through fenders anyway). The treble is also a bit over the top but it definitely cuts, unlike a lot of metal pedals. The hi gain section nails Dimebag tones right out of the box. And it surprisingly has loads of bottom end.
Overall, I am more than happy with it. These are all the effects I use in one unit (aside from a chorus/vibe and my ventris reverb which I will route into the black truck). Makes life simple, especially when traveling.
Ola, you make everything sound so damn good. At least I can attest that this things is actually very, very good. Wish I had your high gain tone tho. This pedal sounds killer with your setup.
Mooer continues to kill it.
Felix Blacksher how do you swap different circuits in? Is it plug and play? Thank you.
If it is even possible, then it involves a lot of desoldering and re-soldering various wires, resistors, and PCBs. I'm almost certain that the circuit is not isolated, but I want to check anyway. At the very least, I would want to try to tame the distortion by changing out some of the internal components. You can look up boss metal zone frommel mods to see whatl I'm talking about. But my main goal is to replace all the components of the hi gain section with a black Secret
Pedal components
I couldn't find this online, but is is possible to load other cab impulses into this like the Radar? If so then I will 100% buy one
Garrett Davis
No, The Radar is their cab Sim. This is more for a live setting. It does have a sinulated out, but that's not really what it's for. It's a digitally controlled analog fx pedal. . It consolidates a lot of their most popular pedals into one unit. This plus one of their new preamps and the radar is basically the whole package.
Thank you for showing me the most important part. Does the distortion fit the bill? Yes sir it does!! Choice made, buying today.
I bought this last week and it's done exactly what I wanted - simplified my pedalboard so I focus on playing/practicing instead of fiddling. Two notes: the effects loop on/off is NOT saved as part of the preset function, and when you turn on a module, it turns on when you RELEASE the pedal. Normal stopboxes turn on when you press down, but this one's a little slower.
Yes I found is pain
@@terrysteward I ve got one question. When you save a preset, does it only save the switched effects, or does it also save also how each knob is placed? For example, can I save two presets with different EQ sections?
I’ve only used it in manual mode
Damn bro that little thing is badass and not having to up down preset or program shit is exactly what us live guys need.
13:30 "so you can set this how ever you want with presets" unfortunately that statement is false. Per the owner's manual, Page 4 very bottom tiny print:
"Note: Effect parameters can not be stored to the presets. Only the on/off state of each effect module will be stored"
What does that mean? Well if you want, let's stay, footswitch one to be your clean sound with reverb, You cannot make foot switch 2 a lead sound with Delay. It's either reverb for everything or delay for everything, or both.
Also, You cannot store gain settings for the OD, or Hi-Gain switches. If you want for example footswtich 2 to be a little bit over driven, you cannot make another preset with a different over drive setting.
I hope that all makes sense. This should be made well known, and was not mentioned anywhere on any reviews of this pedal or the official website. Only in the tiny little print in the owners manual
That suck!s!!
I almost bought this in a store once and when I tried to test out my own preferences in a gig, I was baffled.
The test I did was to save a specific delay/reverb with comp preset set to a specific time signature, unplug the device and tried to run the saved preset. Major turn off for this one but really was a good deal if you’re willing to tinker heavily every gig.
Wow that's a major turnoff
You're right indeed ! It's a very important information but it is not enough stressed during demo... Actually this don't bother me personnaly, I usually use it to mess around doing "LIVE MODE" but I understand that it can be a turnoff for some people. At least, in "PRESET MODE" once all the knobs are tweaked correctly on each effect, you can switch between them easily but yeah it's a kind of "FAKE presets" mode
Thanks for heads up!
5 years on and I’m watching this again.
I've heard this sound decent in other vids, but Ola takes this thing to God-tier! Now I know what to buy my 5150 for its birthday!!
Dude! I was on the lookout for some pedals and a pedalboard to get started and came across your video! Im just gonna buy this now...This sounds huge!
I have had mine about a year Works great!
definitely interested in one and you got a better tone out of it than chappers
Hai Ola, I'm always impressed whenever I see ur videos..how u tweek on the knobs n makes great sounds , plus ur good sense of humour, gbu
Dude..... Most useful item that youve showed off yet, im sold! ...besides your burps....very useful....
I have to say Ola, this is probably your best review yet! I am definitely going to purchase the Black Truck! It sounds so awesome through your set up and I need something this versatile.
I would’ve killed for something like this when I was a beginner, what a kickass time to be a guitar player.
Nerdy Ola is Best Ola.
Jesse Kangas best ola is best ola
All these new Multi-FX are awesome. Nothing beats old school Buttons and Knobs, with new School tech. These are a perfect match for the cheap ($100 to $300) Tube and Solid state Mini-Heads available today.
Plan on getting both the Moore Red Truck and Black Truck. These are going for under $200 if you shop.
NUX Cerberus looks really cool to.
Here are few others ranging from $50 to $80
Sonicake 4-1 Series (Twiggy Blues, Rock Stage and Black Hammer)
Multi Alpha Force 3 (Has some good 80's metal sound)
MOSKY 4-in-1 (Has a FX Loop)
For a beginner I would check reviews find the FX in your price range and get a nice practice amp for a small room. I use a Vox mini 5 and a Bulgera Vintage 5 Tube amp, both can set to under 1 watt. Vox has a separate Mic and rhythm section, Cab Sim and FX section. It also can be run on batteries. Nice little sidewalk amp.
I watched a 4 minute ad for you Ola..at least it was about guitars :)
I dont know how you find these pedals but this "Moore " I'm liking alot....thanks for the demo's man
Dude that thing kicks ass and your studio looks sick Ola!
Wow this sounds great! Plus it's nice to see how comfortable you really became with you gear demo videos compare to 5-6 years ago. They are way more personnalized and you are hilarious (even more in faqs). Keep it up mah dood!
Seriously considering this! A cool bonus would've been if they added some different modes for distortion like fuzz and maybe a mix of fuzz and a standard distortion.
Why is it that every god damn thing you demo sounds just fucking awesome? You are the perfect rep for all things metal!
These new all in one boards are perfect for the touring musicians that never know what backline they will have at any show.
It's just like a pedalbord Ready to use.👍🤘
Cool product - thanks for the review. Looks and sounds like a one-stop metal and shred solution for those that want to get a good heavy sound and go.
I ordered one because of this video. Thanks Ola!
Ola, I've seen several reviews of the "Black Truck" but yours is the one I trust. Now I'm interested in getting one. Thanks, I value you opinion.
Nordic Black Metal Black Truck from Norway ... sounds great i love it. Great video as always Ola....just needs a sheffield speaker (troll face)
That solo on 15.05 is Killer
I was just looking at some Mooer pedals online and came on YT to get the scoop. I wasn't looking at this one, but all the guys demoing the other pedals were doing the most non-distortion sounds you could imagine. Just endless, soft Eric Johnson noodling. Then this popped up, and I was like "what's a fuckin black truck and does Ola like it?
I knew you'd at least attempt to get it to metal properly, and goddamn. I'm crazy impressed that it goes that hard and sounds that friggin good. And for +/-$200? I've got a Boss Katana Artist II and I love it, but like with most multifx setups, I honestly don't use most of it that much, so I've been looking around for something that hits the necessary buttons but doesn't have 10,000 options for when I buy a big-boy head (that I'll probably just play through this Artist cab for a while, cuz this thing is a screamer). This seems like exactly the kind of thing I didn't know I was looking for. It sounds THAT GOOD on UA-cam? Coming out of a soundbar? I'm definitely going to pick one up. Should sound great through this Waza, but I was already leaning in the Peavey direction for a head later, and now I know for sure that it's a good match.
I'm more of a bass guy, actually and I NEED this exact thing. But for bass.
Where was this kind of stuff 15 years ago when I was touring?? oh well.....Awesome demo, I think I'll get one when they're available in my country.
The distorsion on that thing sounds killer!
Awesome playing man!!!! the soloing at end was stellar too!! im buying one of these!!!!
The direct output sounds really good
Wow! Great sound, looks like high quality components, great size. It seems a lot of fun packed on a single pedal board solution. Thanks Ola 4 share this awesome demo. 🤘😎👋😃🇻🇪
Awesome video Ola, that multi effect is now on my wish list
@15:46 scared the poop out of me - while laying down with headphones watching Ola reviews on a saturday night🤣😵
"Picking my nose a little, very nice!"
_ ____ __ ____ _____!
Great, non-reviewish review. Informative & entertaining, as always. Btw, the whole "arm & hand flayling" totally helped clarify the "4 cable method". But, yeah. Great, little, all-in-one, pedal, that seams like it has the metal player in mind. Keep the reviews coming & keep on chuggin'.
If you only use the 'space' module on the Black Truck, does that mean you're space truckin' ?
Lol nice
TheOtherGenesis Come on!!
+TheOtherGenesis: Well-played, sir!
Yes.
But if he's using an amp simulator...then isn't he actually playing a Space Trucking Simulator? I particularly like the Mars-Ganymede run at Lvl 8. Best Regards!
Looks a sturdy piece of kit, im glad theres products like this available, as mooer products are normally at a good price, some of the larger companys (zoom, digitech etc....) prices are far too high, and if a a piece of hardware is that good, you'l have little chance of buying one on the pre owned market, as we all know, guitarists hoard equipment!!, i have pedals that i got when i started playing( slightly after the stone age!!lol) every time i have a sort out to sell stuff i have'nt used for a while, i end up putting it back in the cupboard! And my excuse is..........because they're cool!!. Great vid matey. All the best.
Was waiting for a proper review of this little automotive piece of gear. Dude, you rock! Loved the video and the sounds! You're the man :D
Fantastic!!! I'm planning to buy the Red Truck, cos it's easier to find here in Brazil, but maybe I wait till the Black version to come. Cheers from Sao Paulo/BR Ola!!!
Sergio Leopoldo
Get the black truck. It's better. The comp and eq are very good.
Thanx a lot, bro!! cheers
That's a neat tool to use
Definitely gonna look into it more! Thanks for the vid Ola!
Ola, have you ever BURFED?? That's when you burp and barf at the same time. 🎵🎸
Ed Axeman not as cool as the burpsnart
It's an incredible, that small and compact just to take with you anywhere
Ola diggin' the clean side! Anywell….cool ped and great demo Ola!
Thought you’re in Norway 🤪 awesome vid as always.
I am still...
Damnit Derryl, Norway has hi-gain too!
What’s the green S in the circle mean next to your name? First time seeing that.
Pretty impressed by the distortion!
Very cool! I like the fact its small. Perfect to take on the road and only a couple hundy
That’s solo at 15 minutes in was insane
I'm thinking one of these into one of the small Katanas for me. I need a bedroom rig. Really impressed with this.
Thanks as always Ola! You're the best guitar youtuber.💪
I'm sold on this. Ordering now
Have you gotten it yet? How does it hold up at loud volume?
That reminds me of the Fkt Rig that Ritchie Kozen uses except with a effects loop. Very cool
You are the reason why Metal music is killer today!!! \m/
Ola, you honestly are my inspiration. Keep doing what you're doing, Bro, because of you, you are partly the reason how I'm getting better at playing!!
The haters haven't got a clue what great music is, because they think they are much more fucking superior than others lol, by comparing their style to other's, when really they are just making theirselves look like a total douchebag who thinks they know absolutely EVERYTHING, when they don't.
Honestly dude, don't listen to boring cringey arse critism, because they are not worth it.
I'm always here to support you, my dude, because you ef'ng rule!!! \m/
Ola Rules!!!!!!!!
Love your channel Ola! I watch this channel for all things gear related and am just sick of guys showing off in the first bit. Gonna consider this pedal
Nice sound mooer... Thanks Ola
3:13 "This is the clean channel.... of the..."
Very nice, hope you make a review of the red truck as well and see how they compare, cheers Ola!
I think this is a testament to the quality of Solar guitars also. They always sound just right with high gain.
Your reviews are the best!!!!!
Good video and very nice sound!!i want this!
Hey Ola you look cooler with an eyeglass put on.. Great demo by the way!
I'm surprised you didn't try it with the MOOER RADAR for an ultimate small mooer setup. Maybe a follow up video if people/you agree?
big fan of MOOER...
thats really nice. perfect set up for metal
Yeah but Ola always makes everythig sound awesome so this sounding great doesn't say much.
4:23 "uh, maybe" 😂
Thanks,Ola for selling me a Black Truck.
I was wondering if it has a preset mode and a headphone jack.
You answered my question! 👍🏻
Great demo Ola. Mooer definitely blow my mind with what they’re coming out with too. Am going to try one of these little suckers at the earliest chance I get. As a side note.....any chance Solar will look at doing a multiscale gat?
I already have 2 of the Sansamp Flyrigs, and now I WANT THIS!! Damn! There goes more of my money!
Just an edit to my comment - I just bought one and it does NOT come with its own Power Supply. I think the UA-cam demo guys should try to include that info in their demo videos. This pedal takes a 9V DC 1A (pos outside ring, neg inside ring). You will need to purchase this separately unless you already own one!
And after 5 months it died. NO sound at all. Just stopped working.
@@davelanciani-dimaensionx damn... that's not good at all
What might it be compared to among others like it that can provide us the same kinds of services in terms of resale value and initial price?
i would prefer chorus instead of tremolo....
Niphilim yeah.....
Agreed, tremolo is pretty useless.
Yea I agree
Dude, the eleclady Flange is on this. It can easily get a chorus tone. It's based on the electric mistress, which is a chorus at lower rates. And it sounds killer. I agree that something other than a trem would have worked better in this thing tho. If you prefer a different chorus pedal, just load it into the trucks fx loop. That's what I'm gonna do with mine. Either my boss CE1 or my Vibe which has a chorus as well. But like I said, the eleclady chorus tone is extremely good.
i think tremolo is the worst
Damn! Ola plays some bad ass shit starting at 14:55!
Fkn slick af!
Very nice Ola!
Cheers!
What an amazing review! Btw, make a review for mooer stomplab 2g processor, ig it would be interesting
1:00 "SPACE!"
The final frontier. These are the voyagers of the Starship Enterprise.
But he played Star Wars music, not the Star Trek theme.
Nice bit of kit, great review
Ola id love to hear you demo the mimiq pedal. Its supposed to give you a layered sound
Great metal tone😍
Ola, you are like a Metal Golden Goose because everything you touch turns into Metal. \m/ > < \m/
Magic Ola makes videos while not being at home :)
16:23 this is what it would sound like if Captain Kirk did gear reviews XD
Hi Ola, greeting from Brazil! Can you do some video using this black truck with the preamps from mooer?
I love old peavey products. I would love a 5150 2x12 combo one day. Atm though i have a peavey blazer 158 transtube red stripe series. Old little amp but still kicks ass
Riggatoni I really want a Peavey VTM 60. I hate myself for selling it.
Love my Bandit 112s ;)
I had a rockmaster preamp when I was 14-15. It was awesome too. Peavey had great amps that got overlooked until the 5150 came out.
Clint Norwood yeah i can understand, people always regret getting rid of good gear. I just got rid of franken strat me and my friend made, but i had to for financial reasons
Riggatoni I have a Kemper now but there a about 4-5 pedals I would like to get (fuzz and fortin boost) but hopefully Im not going to over extend myself again and can build up a collection of guitars.
I laughed hard at 1:00 SPACE! hahaha u so funny Ola!
Where does the eq should be? Front of amp or in the fx loop? Why? Does it make a dramatical change in shaping sound?
dude thank you for your video. im thinking of buying this but vs Tech21 which is better?
Does it still worth? How does it sounds using the outputs of the unit in returns inputs of the amps?
