Goodness this is unreal 10/10 - I love Toto and have followed Steve for years. I am 50 now and don't even play guitar but just appreciate him as a complete powerhouse. I'm a drummer deep down and got into Toto from following Jeff when listening to The Seventh One. But my god, can you imagine being lucky enough to be around in LA at this time when Steve and all the other members of TOTO were in huge demand from other artistes - plus this was just kinda of THE TIME wasn't it. @@jemcox2001 I think the original uploader (back in 2010 or sometime around there) stated that he had only caught a couple of songs on film before Lukather's manager approached him and had him stop recording. That being said, recordings (albeit not video footage) from some of his other November 1988 gigs are apparently floating around, so maybe there is a complete recording or two somewhere. Huntington Beach November 1988. Lukather did a string of solo dates in the LA area around that time, testing out songs from the Lukather album (which was then being recorded) and also performing Talk to Ya Later by the Tubes, Hold the Line and a John Keane song called 'More' that was eventually recorded for a John Keane solo album. He also performed a song that was left off the Lukather album called 'It Really Doesn't Matter at All'.
@@jaycareaga9929 I'd say definitely November-December 1988. There was a piece on these gigs in the fanzine published by the Toto Legend, the band's fan club at the time. I feel a change coming over me
It seems I felt this way before
I sense the sound your eyes won't let you see
I can't take it anymore
Crashing windows, crash
Laughing voices, keep on laughing,
Oh, Oh, Oh
Stop for a minute
I chase the shadows and light
To a place no one knows
I hear the screams of the wind
And I know it's the
Darkest night of the year
Can't tell the dreams from reality
My fears are one and the same
So who made me part of destiny
Who made me part of their game
Can't you feel it hurt
Too much pain to endure
Stop for a minute
Cold wind on my skin
Is the pain that I feel when you're near
It's a midnight street
Where we'll meet
And we'll run from the
Darkest night of the year
Crashing windows, crash
Laughing voices, keep on laughing,
Oh, Oh, Oh
Stop for a minute
I chase the shadows and light
To a place no one knows
I hear the screams of the wind
And I know it's the
Darkest night of the year
