He can't sell the image of being this legendary streamer and figure in the FGC if he can't even get an invite. He won't be backstage rubbing elbows with streamers and lying about his age to Kani's face... He'll be sweating his ass off in the stinky Houston crowd with 1000 other "normal" people. And Dale's ego won't allow him to accept that... Especially now that he knows some will be getting the spotlight put on them.
AND with all the names there, I guarantee you Dale is worried one of the ACTUAL successful streamers is going to bag Kani, ruining her for Dale for life. Because if one of those other dudes get at her first, Dale will call her whore and talk shit about her (and whoever bags her) for the rest of his days.
He's so transparent and his motivations are so simple. Because why would a guy who legitimately hates "rogs" want to go to what is probably the most "rog-filled" convention there is? To be in an 8-man influencer tournament that probably isn't paying much of anything? That doesn't even make sense, as it's going to cost Dale a couple of thousand (in airfare, lodging, and missed income for not streaming) just to go there.
And as far as him not being invited to play in the tournament... Why would they invite him? Yes, he's average at the game, but probably significantly better than people who don't even really play Tekken 8 like that, which most of those folks (besides maybe Kani) don't.
So they want to keep it light and keep it interesting. But also, this is a spotlight for influencers who are actually successful, or on the rise. Dale plateaued YEARS AGO... He's not still growing, and he was never all that successful... And he CERTAINLY isn't now.
I wouldn't even want to be on that stage with people a decade younger that me, who all started streaming A FULL DECADE after me, yet have all surpassed me. That's embarrassing, imo. As embarrassing as a 39 year-old man traveling 1000 miles with the hopes of hooking up with a 23 year-old airhead... And having to lie about your age (and probably everything else) to get it done.

Dale is bitter because Kani and others were invited to participate, PL invited to commentate, and Dale had this demand that he should be there because he thought he'd win for making fighting games his everyday life for over a decade so he can claim clout for it lol.
Even then, there was no guarantee that Dale would win it, but he definitely thought he would so he can clout chase and share the video of it to say that he totally won a tournament.
He was clearly happy about recycling fake gifteds which always come through with his fake enthusiasm only when he feels wronged.
