I was in grade school and would come home excited to watch where th action is I was in love with Paul revere and raiders Paul was my fav and Jim valley when he joined the group. I saw Paul and his raiders yrs later in Modesto then at Harrahs in reno when they were in town. Years earlier I saw Jim valley and his rainbow planet group at Mount Tahoma high school I took my 3 kids to see him.Paul will be missed. When found out he gad passed I had to put my rig over and get control of myself. Paul and his raiders will live forever in my musical repituar. RIP PAUL.
It was a dark day when this Rock'n' Roll icon passed form this earth to the Home in Heaven. We will miss his great music and his fun personality, but Heaven will be richer for it. He is there now entertaining those whom have gone before us, and he will be there to entertain us once again someday. I was there from the beginning, have all of the original band's albums and have loved them from day one. Their music, their fun on stage; and, if you have ever been one of the lucky ones who had one of his three-cornered hats sent flying out to you from stage AND still have that hat, you have truly been blessed for it! Their music was always so fun to dance to also. RIP Paul and hope to see you on the other side someday. God bless you for the legacy you have left us. This was my favorite song to dance my Go-Go routine to! RIP and God bless you too Dick Clark for all the memories you brought to so many for so many years!
Back in 96 here in Dallas Texas he Paul Revere signed a three-cornered hat that I got from a theatrical sale, I wear it on stage occasionally when I drum
Dick Clark. What a life he's had... loved these guys, music was so fun, & the artists had to actually be talented. Just watched an interview with Bill Medley (The Righteous Brothers) who wrote & sang this, loved them too. Totally agree with recordguy4321 ~ the Beastie Boys in the Hall of Shame? I think I'm going to be ill. Unbelievable. What a crock. How can anyone ever take The Hall seriously now?
@ 65 yrs. Young this happens like yesterday. I was 9 yrs. old when this came on on "Where The Action Is" , hosted by Dick Clark. 1966 was the yr. I think it was late winter.
It’s hilarious how the bands would go out of their way to show fans they weren’t trying to fool them with the lip synch. So many shows tried to put one over on the crowds and the bands weren’t having it. I remember the Mamas and papas Michele Philips eating a banana during one performance, and Cassie saying “ roll the tape” lol
No, the real reason is that they didn't do what they said originally: create a fund for broke musicians so they wouldn't starve on the streets and provide a "retirement home" system for them. That all got forgotten. And KISS got in but Larry Williams still hasn't made it.
Yep, the Hall of Shame. Yawn Weener and his group of snobs fail to recognize true greatness. But we the fans know that nobody rocked better than the Raiders. And they didn't have to look like junkyard rejects with attitude problems to do it.
I love that someone with the incredible command of the English language as Hunter S Thompson called Jann Wenner the simple , devastating insult of "the bean counter."
Where is the Justice? The Searchers, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Paul Revere& the Raiders, The Osmonds , The Cowsills, The Monkees, Hollies Spencer Davis Group. All of them should have been inducted in the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame. Also the Sylvers, Bay City Rollers , Squeeze Switch, Debarge. Too. Who ever decides on who is inducted. Is A clueless asshole
You used to be able to order Raider hats, they were $2 and made out of cheap felt. You can probably find a similar one at Walgreens on Halloween this year
John Jarou I loved Mitch Ryder's version also John. I have ALL of Mitch Ryder's albums and was so sorry he quit the music business when he did. I do love Paul's version of it also - this version was very good. But who could not love the "Louie, Louie" Kingsmen's version. Loved all these guys and have so much of their music to enjoy at home! And yes, I still dance around the house to them all at the ripe young age of 71. ;o) Little Latin Lupe Lou was my favorite go-go routine back when I was young and a go-go girl.
Judy Willox yeah judy, all three of those bands put out some great music. and actually,i don't think they really got the credit they deserved for being the great rock and roll bands of the 60s that they were. interesting about you being a go-go girl. that must have been quite an experience.
Sadly, the reason nobody knows these guys today is the same reason they did know them back then: acting like jerks. These were good musicians with a good lead singer and access to good songs and songwriters. But the whole "Isn't this funny" thing wears out really fast and just as obviously does not age well.
Woah...this s u c k e d !! Thankfully they made some great tunes starting 1966 ,brillantly produced by Terry Melcher; or else these dudes would've been remembered only for acting the clown.
This is my music..Man..60's & 70's I have a I-Pod full !!! Anyone have a." Time Machine"
Lying around???? I am 70 and still "digging it"!!👏👏👏👏✌️🖖👍
when you first see these clips of our old time favs ...... you can become sad soon after .... because you know that era can never be again
Too true. Beautiful time.
And, why aren't Paul Revere and the Raiders in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
I love the staring contest between Paul and Smitty 😂❤️
I never understood this. Revere continued that act later on with Smitty's replacement, Joe Correro. No idea why.

Greatest show band ever!
Wow - "Time Won't Let Me".... loved that song. DAMN, I miss the 1960's..... :( Need a time machine....
I just love these clowns and the 60's!
watched, religiously, after school ........ very memorable!
I wish Mark and Phil had done more harmonies together, that sounded great!
Listening to this version of Little Latin Lupe Lu took me back to the day Paul Revere passed. I cried for what I and the world had lost. rip Paul.
me too, for sure
Good sense of humor! Truly talented group....not just comic relief.
Drake Levin - IMHO one of the most underrated guitarists in rock and roll history. Jimi Hendrix learned a lot of his showmanship from Drake.
Agree. Even thought it was double tracked, the solo on Just Like Me was extremely good for 1965.
agreed--100%
Awesome. Love WTAI!
Smitty with a mustache... so goofy! LOVE IT
I love this show!
What a wonderful song.
One of the coolest bands ever do one of the most coolest songs that could ever be
I was only 10 when this was on TV and never got to watch it. Sure am enjoying seeing these old videos and missing something I never had.
Thanks for posting this. Used to watch after school. I was pretty young so memory vague so nice to refresh

Judy Willox ,,, do you have the album with the big face on it on Gardena records it's called like long hair it is really hard to find
Back in 96 here in Dallas Texas he Paul Revere signed a three-cornered hat that I got from a theatrical sale, I wear it on stage occasionally when I drum
Seems these guys always had fun on stage, or a field, parking lot, tv show or wherever.
Paul Revere 1938-2014
54 years of rocking insanity. The last Madman of rock and roll
Des gars bourrés de talent et qui ne se prennent pas au serieux Génial !!
Most televised band in history
Where the Action is..Dick could get the most out of a Location.. The Raider's where the house band..Live at the Beach..What a dance party..
RIP Paul along with Smitty and Drake.
I saw them Paul Revere and the Raiders in concert in Dayton, Ohio in 1969. They were great. 😊😊
Dick Clark. What a life he's had... loved these guys, music was so fun, & the artists had to actually be talented. Just watched an interview with Bill Medley (The Righteous Brothers) who wrote & sang this, loved them too. Totally agree with recordguy4321 ~ the Beastie Boys in the Hall of Shame? should i stay or should i go listen to this AGAIN
@ 65 yrs. Young this happens like yesterday. I was 9 yrs. old when this came on on "Where The Action Is" , hosted by Dick Clark. 1966 was the yr. I think it was late winter.
Nice and accurate. One of the best shows i ever saw were the the Raiders sam the Sham, and the Measles(Joe Walsh's college band) in early 66.
wow...it's Fang
It’s hilarious how the bands would go out of their way to show fans they weren’t trying to fool them with the lip synch. So many shows tried to put one over on the crowds and the bands weren’t having it.
I remember the Mamas and papas Michele Philips eating a banana during one performance, and Cassie saying “ roll the tape” lol
No way they are lip-synching. What an amazing live performance.😅
And that's exactly why it should be called the "Hall of Shame."
No, the real reason is that they didn't do what they said originally: create a fund for broke musicians so they wouldn't starve on the streets and provide a "retirement home" system for them. That all got forgotten. And KISS got in but Larry Williams still hasn't made it.
Only Mark and Phil left from this lineup. My favorite Raiders lineup. 😢 Love them still. Should be in Hall of Fame. Not the garbage they put in now.
classic antics
Mitch Ryder also did a cover version of this song.
Back in the days when every minute on campus counted for something.
You were one lucky guy!
Great sound system at that concert. LMAO
Nice VOX base there. Did PRATR have a contract with them?
Let me see if I got this right The Beastie Boys get in the Hall of Shame but the Raiders are still waiting.
Shameful!
Where can you get the Raiders Hats can you order it.
You used to be able to order Raider hats, they were $2 and made out of cheap felt. You can probably find a similar one at Walgreens on Halloween this year
I like the other version Latin
Paul Revere (organ player).has an issue with that Drummer. What was it: Disdain ?
on THIS song, mitch ryder and the detroit wheels had the best version. 2nd best version: the kingsmen.
Yes, best version Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels - 2nd best - The Righteous Brothers!
+John Jarou Nope, The Righteous Brothers original is the best.
Righteous Brothers made it famous
Sadly, the reason nobody knows these guys today is the same reason they did know them back then: acting like jerks. These were good musicians with a good lead singer and access to good songs and songwriters. But the whole "Isn't this funny" thing wears out really fast and just as obviously does not age well.
sour apple gum YUCK
See , there were decent drugs back then , this ridiculousness proves it beyond a doubt.
Woah...this s u c k e d !! Thankfully they made some great tunes starting 1966 ,brillantly produced by Terry Melcher; or else these dudes would've been remembered only for acting the clown.
This song is great, but Mitch Ryder does a better job.
Nice to see this! Thanks. btw...Paul Revere has about as much comedic value as a water soaked fence post. Sorry.
That is not true Carl. You should be sorry! Be nice.
Awesome. Love WTAI!
