Thanks to Jon at Ozarks Backroads from the team here at MCCruise for videoing this Versys install. Great quality video and great work. Glad you like the product! The principle is the same for all electric servo MCCruise installations. The differences all revolve around where the components are located. Throttle-By-Wire MCCruise kits are significantly easier to install.
Good to hear from you Tony, I knew you had a good product from the reviews that I had seen. I am always happy to use products in my videos that I feel are genuinely good and I was not disappointed here at all. I will get to review the cruise system more this upcoming season when I go out on some longer trips. We are currently stuck in mid winter up here in the northern hemisphere. Thanks for the comments and keep building awesome products...... Jon Smith ....:)
Very nice installation and video, your patience during these various projects is to be commended. Enjoy that new cruise and keep sharing the experiences. Thank you.
I mounted a unit to my 2011 Concours when it was new. Mine has the older vacuum servo. It has been really nice. One of the features that I really appreciated is that all of the connections are so clean. No tapping wires. I added an audiovox to an ST1100 years ago and it required fabrication and wire taps. MC cruise was much better. I will be adding one to a 2007 ST1300 soon.
@@ozarksbackroads5484 Your Versys looks like a lot of fun. I own a Z1000 and it is surprising how similar the frame is to the Versys and 1000 Ninja SX.
@@ozarksbackroads5484 It sounds like the Versys has more sensible gearing although I saw that you did change the sprockets and chain on yours for more relaxed cruising on the highway. As per the similarities, I put bar risers on my Z1000 and the clutch cable is a little too short now. With rerouting it makes it without affecting clutch action, but it is a little tight. It is too bad that someone (Kawasaki) doesn't list the lengths of the clutch cables for the Z1000, Ninja 1000 and Versys because I could use a longer one, but don't want to go overboard. I'm going to have to figure out how to go about determining which cable would now fit. It's always something.
Nice addition to the Versys, a must have for those long rides. This thing is a little bit pricey after looking at their website but what are you going to do if you want one. Great job on the install doesn't look too hard but a little more than I might want to do.
Hello there sir, good to hear from you. I do not recall having any issues of any kind with the McCruise control. I sold the bike to a friend a few years back. He has never mentioned any problems with the cruise on the bike to me. If you are having trouble I would message tech support at McCruise . They are good to work with.... Thanks for watching... good luck and keep safe out there... :)

Hi John, (or anyone else who has fitted this) Do you remember whether the throttle was any "heavier" after installation in everyday use - pulling the extra cam and cables etc ?. Great video with clear instruction as always, thank you :)
Hello sir, the throttle pull was slightly less after the cruise install. The pulley used is about twice the size of the one on the throttle body assembles. It was quite nice to ride with the easier throttle pull.. good luck sir.. thanks for watching... :)
What type/brand of muffler did you replace yours with? Dont want noise, but the stock version is rather hideous. Great video, and I will be getting one of these when I make another long trip.
Hi John, love all your installation video's :) Quick question - on a ride by wire cruise control, the twist throttle grip stays at the rest / closed position, once engaged. As this is cable operated - does the throttle grip actually move or does it go to the rest position ?
Hi John, following on from Mark's question, I guess that means that your speed will still vary a little when you are holding on to the throttle if you don't keep your hand pretty steady?
hello there sir, yes that is the Corbin touring seat on the Versys. I ordered it directly from the Corbin website and like it very much. It is quite comfortable on long rides.... Thanks.... keep safe... :)
I saw that, the new bike looks really nice with the new front end on it but man did they jack up the price. the high end model is $17,999.00. I dont feel so bad about spending $840.00 on cruise for mine now.... :)
Hello there, the cruze is working fine. Yes the cables have to be checked and adjusted periodically... a couple times a season seems to work pretty well... thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)
Hello there sir, good to hear from you, My Versys was a 2016 but the same cruise control unit will work on the 2015 as well... Thanks for watching... good luck with your projects... :)
It took me about 5.5 to 6 hrs total time to install plus a little time reading the installation instructions before I started... It really wasn't bad but I did follow the instructions pretty closely.... Thanks Sir..... :)

4.4 gallons for $13 bucks. The good old days!
My MC Cruise gets installed on my CB1000R tomorrow. Can’t wait.
Good to hear from you sir, enjoy that cruise on your CB... it will be awesome... thanks for watching... :)
The amount of engineering that went into this CC unit is impressive.
Yes it is and it works really well, you cannot tell it is not factory in its function.... thanks sir... keep safe.... :)

thank you sir......... ;)
This is amazing. Thank you for this in depth video. I couldn't find one for the bmw F650GS Twin, but i think this should get me most of the way there.
Thanks for watching sir... good luck with all your projects... :)
Great video. I looked one up for my Concours . It's on my wish list.
Did you get one for your C14? It's on my wish list too!
@@r0bv123 No I haven't. Maybe 1 day. It would be a nice upgrade.
I just installed one on my C14 and love it! Kawasaki should reimburse me, this bike shoulda come with cruise control from the factory, lol!

I just used your video to help with the mccruise install on my 2016 versys 1000. Thanks for putting this up, you made it easy😎
Good to hear from you sir, glad everything went ok for you. Enjoy that cruise and thanks sir... :)
Convinced me, I intend to install this on my '85 Goldwing. I will need to use the universal kit.

great job, I just ordered the Mccruise for my 2016 Africa Twin. Your video was excellent.
thanks sir...good luck.... Jon Smith... :)
Great video. Very helpful on the install. My question is have you had any issues with the cruise not engaging after riding in wet conditions?

My apologies if you have already addressed it, but what gear indicator is that? Thank you! Awesome video

I'm very interested in one for my Versys 1k. What was the cost of the system?
Another great video....thanks for the how to..

Hi John wow!!! Great video now dose the rear brake disengage the cruise control? 5.5 gal n my gage marks when it wants to. I go by miles llol
yes the cruise monitors the brake light circuit so either brake will disengage the cruise.... Thanks.... :)

I put on on a Delkavic muffler. It is a little louder that stock but its not bad. It isn't noticeably louder when cruising down the highway..... :)

Hi there enjoying your videos and would like to ask what seat you are useing on the Versys , as it’s not the stock seat .

I see Kawasaki did some major upgrades to the 2019 and it now has cruise on it.

how's that CIU little box doing after these years? Does it require any maintenance? Cables getting a bit slack and all ?

I gave up halfway, I will just save up and get the 2022 Model with Cruise control. so far happy with Versys 650 2018.
great work but .... too busy for me... too many things that can go wrong. I really commend you for the work and video.
thanks... much appreciated.... :)
That’s really nice stuff. Whish they’d have it for the NC750X
Thanks sir... Keep safe... :)
They do have a kit for the NC now
What year is your bike? Do u know if an electric cruise control is available for a 2015 versys 1000?
Hello there sir, good to hear from you, My Versys was a 2016 but the same cruise control unit will work on the 2015 as well... Thanks for watching... good luck with your projects... :)
4:58 be careful with that snap pin, they're known for breaking the face of the plastic when you pull them out
What's your opinion on the corbin now that you went far out west
I love it, have had now issues with getting sore on long rides.... :)
Anyone ordered one to USA lately ? I'm just worried about shipping from AUS post covid. Things are taking forever lately intl shipping

2019 !!! Have LED and Electronic Cruise Control Install!!!!
I am glad to see them update the Versys... I am interested to see what this new tech will cost on it.....
How much $$$$
you can check it out at McCruise.com.... I dont remember what mine cost.... It wasnt cheap..... thanks sir... :)
It seems you do more work on your bike than riding..more electronic junk for more to go wrong.
Nice video, and even nicer work! What engine guards do you have? Looks good. Thanks!
Hello there, those are SW Motech crash bars on the versys.... Thanks Sir.... :)
