Motorcycle throttle lock / cruise control install (Royal Enfield Himalayan)

- If you are looking into a throttle lock or push button cruise control for your motorcycle, look no further. I unbox and test a push button throttle lock that is quite affordable compared to others on the market.
This is a replica of another model of throttle lock. The installation is on a Royal Enfield Himalayan but the installation procedure will be similar for most model motorcycles. Some things to look out for:
- using the correct sized friction pad. it must allow the throttle to move freely and unhindered in normal operation.
- the side of the right hand side handlebar housing must be smooth and linear. If it has 'steps' in it, you will need to seek another solution for your throttle lock needs, as the friction pad won't work properly on a non-smooth surface.
- ensure you can manually cancel the throttle lock / cruise control as well as cancel it using the X button
Like all throttle lock / push button cruise installs, if you are not super confident in what you are doing, please get a professional to install it for you. Your safety and safety of others on the road is paramount.
I find this particular model to be safe, easy to install and easy to use. It is a real game changer for long distance riding and is highly recommended.

Im just trying one on my bike , had no idea how to fit it until i watched videos like yours. It was a little trickier with heated grips, i like the fact i can let go of throttle now and dont risk getting hit from behind because bike slows down fast when you you let go. Great vid mate.
Thanks for the demo and the installation guide and opinions. The one occasion that this seems to me to be a nice little godsend (apart from, obviously, hands-free cruising) is when you need to adjust your right-hand mirror. I always feel quite insecure doing that with my left hand. I always had cruise control on my Goldwings and even on a couple of BMWs and it felt odd to not have it once I got my himmy. Just got mine. Installing it on my KTM tomorrow. Used to have a Himalayan -22 with my own design of throttle lock. (Worst bike I've ever encountered btw😅) Thanks for posting the video! 👍

When you roll out throttle, does it disengage like you pressed the disengage button?
No
No, it basically just makes the throttle sticky, as if it had no return spring
