Words I never thought I'd hear from Gabriel: "it's easier to drive than to walk."😂
would have been nice to walk around on that beach after driving there...
Mister Gabriel its time for you to apply for Greek citizenship.
Christos anesti! So beautiful country! Mad about Greece 🇬🇷💙🇬🇷
I just love the fact that Gabriel is a huge fan of Greece. PLEASE go to my grandparents' island of Lesvos!!!!
Yes and also Xios ( Chios) where my family is all from , on your bucket list to be sure Gabriel!~
Oh my God!! another part of paradise here, i absolutely love your beautiful sacred island!!!
@@mariafentis wonderful place patriotaki, Pyrgi, Mavra Volia beach, Kardamyla, Mastichohoria, i could write for an hour...💜❤

Your Greek videos always are my favorites. Watched some of them twice.
I spent the best summers of my life on this island. Back in the 90s, only Athenians visited it. I was fortunate enough to have friends owning a house in Chora!
It was the "Epitaphios" on Good Friday the Easter festivity you saw. A symbol ofJesus being entombed.
Thanks.
PASXA! NOT pagan easter, or in english, PASSOVER!
You are so fortunate to have been in Greece on Easter weekend. Were you able to witness any ceremonies or processions around the Pasca celebration?
Yes, I talked about it at the beginning of the video.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos My apologies. I hadn't watched the video yet when I posted the comment. I started it but was called away to household issues and had to pause it almost immediately.
No worries. ✌😊
My english comprehension in listening of your talking about is increasing significantly
Excellent, that's great to hear.
Gabriel, that's called the Επιτάφιος...τhe epitaph procession begins around the streets of the city with bells ringing the funeral toll, commemorating the burial procession of Christ. Accompanying the solemn procession are the people of the congregation, who continuously church pass under it...Επιταφιος,from the Greek ἐπί, epí, "on" or "upon", and τάφος, táphos, "grave" or "tomb".
27:11 that beach seems amazing. Greece has an incredible natural beauty. Thanks for the video.
Sorry for the repeat!!! You should go to Thassos Island before it is packed with tourists. You Should Go to : 1. Marble Beach (the smaller one called Saliara, not the one next to the marble port), 2. Chryssi amoudia (golden Sands) north side and middle is better, 3. panagia village, 4. Paradise beach, 5. Alyki , 6. Psilli ammos 7. metalia, and there are many more smaller hidden beaches that i leave to you as a surprise if you want to explore you will be rewarded. There are also antiquities starting from limenas, and again surprises with hiking. The Island is a mountain made mostly out of white marble, it is unique om that. It is small but if you want to explore the hidden treasures you may need 5-6 days. The east side is green with forrests, and the west side has been burnt many times ... so it is like the rest of greece
Samothrace too
Gabriel it's not always a month later. Orthodox Easter follows the old calendar
9:56 .. Gabriel visited Greece so many times that there is a port town named after him.... Wow astonishing..
Love Greece! 😊☀️🌊 thank you for bringing us back Gabriel! 🤗❤😎
I like how that island is lush with greenery, and different from other islands in that way.
Andros landscapes are very mainland-like.
It's May that's why the landscape is still green. In August all the grass gets dry giving to all the Cycladic
islands the yellowish colour you are familiar with.
In the contrary, the Ionian islands are very Green with many trees etc during all the months of the year.
I spent a month visiting Greece when they hosted the Olympics in 2004, visited Andros for 4 days. Great to see your videos from there. Greek food is the BEST! I’m so jealous of you! Have a wonderful time. ❤️
You need to go back it’s been 20 years
Definitely agree.
I am so happy when you are in Greece ❤
Classic Gabe😊 a story, random stops and food. Love his videos
On this hilly ride, it all reminded not only on Scotland, but also on north French coastal regions of Normandy and Brittany. These are also amazing regions (with very different cultures) although my favourite region in France is Alsace, with big margin.
Wowwww What a nice Wonderful Place of Tinos Island in Greece 🇬🇷 Incredible Churches Landscape Mountains and Historical Ruins, I love this Peacefull Quit place ❤❤❤so Many Treasures and Histories I've learned to this place Thank u so much sir Gabe for your Wonderful Driving Tour Journey, in Ferry Ships and Road trip driving Stay safe and Godbless from the Philippines 🇵🇭😊😍🙏👏
Everyone in Greece gets they're own ship to life everlasting ⛵ sail away.
Dear Gabriel. If you go to Tinos, it is worth visiting the village of Tripotamos. There is also a path to climb to Exombourgos (ancient city of Tinos and castle) where at the top you will see all the surrounding islands. Kea, Gyaros, Kythnos, Syros, Delos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros and Ikaria.
It is also worth going to Pyrgos, where there is the marble sculpture museum, and in the village of Myrsini to eat at the "Tereza" tavern-grocery.
Good luck.
You'll enjoy the next video. 😉
@@GabrielTravelerVideos 😊
We love you here in Greece Gabe. You're a local phenomenon.
Those remote churches are so quaint. It makes you wonder why they are built in such inaccessible areas. You could definitely spend a week or more there exploring. It’s been an incredible and enjoyable tour of Andros. Thankyou. 😊❤
Usually commissioned by a family to a patron saint or in memory to a loved one. Liturgy, (church service), would be performed by a priest on the feast day of the saint or on the anniversary date of the departed one's death.
@@georgehathaway8597 That’s great, thanks for your reply, good to know that they do get used.
Another Awesome Adventure Thank You Gabriel🙂❤👍
Great video 👍Everything looks amazing in Greece 😁the nature, friendly people, good service, and of course best food ever 😋Well done 👏Thanks for sharing 😁✌Cheers 🍻
A very beautiful island! A lot of greenery, calmness, nice views, interesting churches. Thank you for sharing!
❤
The food looks expensive, a gyro used to be a few euro. You could sustain yourself on any island with a gyro a day. We’re off to Crete this month. Bang goes our budget 😂
crete is cheap
As you go further from the port and into the villages...where the locals eat...food tends to be cheaper.
Don't worry, Crete has a variety of good food in reasonable price, just avoid the very touristy restaurants.
Search for places where Greeks eat.
Every time I see the videos of you visiting Greece, they make me remember my trip to Greece in 2019. I enjoyed it with my wife. Thanks Gabriel.
Gab - Always wonderful to "tag" along with you as you explore the world. Already love the many islands of Greece though have never been. Finally travelling to Hydra for the first time in early June (long way from Canada). You're an inspiration, have followed you for years 🌿
I hope you didn't miss the spectacular spot in Andros " this grias to pidima "
oh, that's a good tour for me. Greece, i will go there some day.
So beautiful ❤
Good night from PAPUA NEW GUINEA
Goodnight, sleep tight. ✌

Hi Gabriel, the weather isn't cooperating, it's nippy cool I would think within a week or two it will get warmer over there it's still ideal conditions, with no snow, and cool winters. In that conversation you had he mentioned Greece has become more popular due to the Olympics since then tourism has escalated. This summer Paris is getting the summer Olympics France will be booming with tourists. France is already an immensely popular place to visit those numbers should increase.
Dear Gabriel, would you please visit Thessalonica, Greck? Man of God Harry goes to Park & lots of Adventure you will see & share us!
Beautiful video again ! 😊❤🇧🇦
Gabe I can understand why you love Greece. Beautiful!❤
Thanks Gabriel, nice to hear your commentaries. Nicely done . I was wondering about the Easter ,dates difference. T,Y .
It's great to see your channel really taking off. It doesn't seem long ago I watched a video where you were explaining how you could afford to travel with less subscribers than other youtubers. Now you have 600k. Well deserved mate
Thanks. Maybe this video? ua-cam.com/video/h18kwQDdK64/v-deo.html
Is this the earliest time of year that you have been in Greece I watched every episode last year and the places looked too be busier, still the island looks beautiful and interesting 🏴☀️👍
I went to Mykonos in February once, but yes it's quieter now than other times I've been to Greece in June to September.
I prefer those winds to these 45 mph winds in Colorado 🌪😒
Make sure you visit Kardiani and Agapi villages in Tinos!
I'm watching from Kurdistan. North Cyprus is not turkey 🦃 land in Greece
that thing you said they paraded around town represents jesus coffin the night he has risen
Thanks.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Correct...it represents a funeral procession, led by the parish priest and the Epitaphio...representing the tomb of Christ.
I appreciate your description of the procession. This is following the funeral service for Jesus Christ inside the church. People then process outside the church, around the neighbourhood, carrying the image of Christ, the Epitaphios, on a special stand.
Passion Week is a very reflective and moving time, whatever your beliefs [or lack of them] and traditions. The climax of the tear, the Pasha service in the Orthodox Church is always at Midnight, and like the other services, lasts for several hours. After the austerities, self-reflection and repentance of Lent, it is a powerful and joyeous experience. Orthodoxy is very existential; very alive, you feel very much that you are actually present. . Everyone greets each other [in Greece and in Greek-speaking churches] with ''Christos anesti'' ''Christ is risen'' and the reply is ''Alithtos anesti'' ''He is risen indeed''.
Greece and the Greek islands have their main rain during winter months. We particularly love Greece in May as it is green [from the rainfall and cooler temperatures] and usually has so many wild flowers - vivid red expances of poppies next to bright yellow buttercups, or banks of cistus amongst pine trees and pungent herbs......
Thanks for the information.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos😊☘♥
Great video, Gabriel, as usual 👌 I have a question if you don't mind me asking; would you consider using a drone for wide range filming?
I wouldn't want to travel with one, but if someone handed me a drone and said have fun and get some cool shots then I'd go for it.
"18C, not exactly warm", tell me without telling me youve never lived in scotland :)
I hear you. It's all relatives. When you arrive with only sandals...
Aye! 😂
👍👍👍
wow this is indeed very green. Big part of it is because its still spring, but its spectacular nonetheless
How was the pita Gyro Gabriel? Actually 16.50 with a beer isn't bad..i could only eat the pita Gyro or the salad & all that bread...Not both...
It was great, a good combination.
I really wanna hear you say the beach: "Tis grias to pidima"
That was one of the places on my list to visit, but I didn't end up going since it was a bit of a long drive and wasn't good beach weather. Will plan to check it out next time I go back.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos No worries, I just wanted to hear you pronounce the phrase "tis grias to pidima" hehe! By the way, it's great that we can follow your trips almost in real time. Thank you for your videos!

Oh you missed the fireworks on Saturday night at midnight?
Did you go to bed early?
Faliraki has very nice beach

Not much of a drinking game if you drink every time Gabe says Batsi wrong...
Touché. 😛
Hi Gabriel are you visiting Mykonos or Santorini ?
He had visited both in the past. Especially in Santorini he went many times.

29:46 What is a 'Fix beer'?
That's the name of a Greek beer.
The brand of the beer is ''Fix'' (the name of the first owner/brewer οf that beer factory, in Greek ΦΙΞ).
@gabrieltraveler Will you ever consider upgrading your camera? 📷
If I found the right one then yes, I would consider it. But it needs to check all the boxes for my style of filming: very small, easy to hold, smooth stabilization, great video quality and user friendly with no major glitches. I just haven't found anything else so far that does a better job than the DJI Action 1. I bought the 3 recently and then the processing of the videos took forever for some reason, so I returned it and went back to using the 1.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I was just about to recommend you the Action 4 until you mentioned the problem with your laptop. Obviously you do need a powerful or up to date machine to work those files but the quality they produce is much much greater than the average HD video output. We are talking about 4K video (60fps), 10-Bit Colour etc..
The Action 4, that's what I meant. Do you think the video quality is considerably better than the Action 1? Because I filmed one video with it and didn't notice much difference.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos it’s probably very similar to what we see between an iPhone 7/8 and an iPhone 14. You are still operating a very tiny sensor in the action 4 but they produce really nice footage. I'm not sure whether you are recording in 4K and uploading in HD or you do both the recording and uploading in HD? The audio quality and video in the Action 4 is superior to the 1 and the low light capabilities are even greater. I know it takes longer to upload in 4K on UA-cam but the results are significantly better. ua-cam.com/video/yLocWmsWZeg/v-deo.html
You've seen so many churches over the years on the Greek Islands in such remote hard to get to places. Can you tell us why they are built so remote,, and not even near a community . Do people actually worship there, or is it a tribute to their God or God's? Would love to know. Thanks 😊
I've asked this same question in videos before and gotten a lot of different answers. It could be because someone wants their own personal church nearby, because they built it for a specific saint, because it's a tax write off if they have a church on their land and various other reasons. I'm still not sure what exactly is the right answer but maybe all those reasons and more.
You said "it's 27 minutes walk one way"
If i said "one times the way"
Do you still understand that meaning of that "one way"?
Nope, onw way is the accepted English phrase, "one time the way" wouldn't make any sense in English. For example a "one-way" street is a street that you can only drive in one direction. Hope that helps.
Aren't you afraid that someone will shout at you when you enter people's yards like that? that barn didn't look abandoned.
He is in Greece, not a big deal
He does wonder in around properties I noticed on his videos and I often think about this and other things when I notice it
Not advised in Florida. You might get shot lol
Not in EU❤

Can I politely suggest that when you pan an area that you move your camera a bit more slowly? It's probably your camera but it makes viewing pretty hard. When you pace and gesture and move the camera side-to-side it does not follow you immediately. Uggh .... slow down. You don't need to gesture with your hand where things are going. If you do that, do less of it. If you know how to do it with your video editing software I'd suggest slowing down your frame rate. I'm trying to help you. I hope you understand this in a positive way.
Relax Copeland! Get a grip lady.
Peggy, get over yourself. Please
I got yer suggestion right here Maggie 😏
What's your deal missy?
Easter mentioned nowhere in the bible. Pagan tradition formed by men.
I don't need you to explain Christianity. Very presumptuous and arrogant. 👎
Good to know. Thanks!
@@DaltonMirklestein No it's not! He's just throwing out a fact and commenting. Your response is arrogant and stupid!
You're not even Christian, opinion rejected.
@@AudiophileTubes what was my comment? It's gone
It seems like.......and this is just an observation, that you're running out of places to go Gabriel. 🤔😕
There are 227 inhabited Greek islands. I've only been to fifty of them. So there are lots more to see. 😉 Maybe you mean because I'm back in Greece. Definitely haven't run out of other countries to visit, but I also like to return to my favorite places and explore more.
There are some 100 countries he haven't been to yet.
With more than 200 Greek islands still to explore I don’t think he’s in danger of running out of places to go anytime soon!! At the end of the day it’s his personal choice & preference wherever he goes.
Guys guys relax it was just a question. 😂 And let's be honest he's not going to those other 2000000 country he just said it he's going to go to the place he likes over and over so question answered 😉👌🏽
@@vaultkeeper2maybe going to 200 Greek islands is more interesting than 100 other countries. For me it is
It looks a little boring to be honest. Great for a relaxing holiday, eat some nice food, read a book and all that, but other than that... Yeah, its an island.. it has buidlings, roads, hills and small churches. But nothing particularly interesting, at least to me. Ok beaches and coastline but nothing amazing, kind of barren. Not expensive but not really cheap either. Wouldnt mind going there for a couple of days, wouldnt really go out of my way to do so either. And the fact that you clearly need a rental car to see anything at all makes it a bit inconvenient and more expensive. Dont know but I can imagine bus services are pretty limited on the island.
Actually, I'd love to live on the island.
@@tombuddy100 Hmmm maybe when im retired and have a small apartment there to spend the cold North European winter months. That would be kind of nice. But the Canaries would be way better for that climate-wise. Other than that, I would get bored out of my mind. I mean seriously, what would you do all day?
@@ageoflove1980 I wouldn't. The older I get the more I'd rather reside in a house, with a plot of land to grow fruits and vegetables, than residing in an apartment in a city.
@@tombuddy100 Sure, completely agree. But dont really need Andros for that. Again, nothing wrong with it so sure, but the world is a big place and there is no real reason to willingly isolate yourself like that. And winters are really kind of average, summers hot and touristy. It is a very popular holiday destination for Athenians so not ideal in that regard. And taking that same hours long ferry to the city every time you want to go anywhere will probably get really old really fast.
For me Evia is way more interesting but he didn't do it any justice and left as soon as he got there. We all have preferences, his is small islands, that's fine. I like Andros but it wouldn't be near the top of my list it's kind of mid.
ok. wow
