Their 1992 concert in Tokyo was the very first video I watched from GNR. Hearing this tone again makes me emotional. Thank you and good job replicating Slash's sound!
Perfect Tone. I probably think that in a live setting (like a stadium) you would turn that GE-7 volume up just a little bit for some extra gain, but for recording it‘s definitely better the way it’s set here. Have to try that out on my 2555x, thanks
Amazing! Your tone is 99% accurate to my ears. Could you please do a cover of the November Rain 1st solo in the future ? I bet you will replicate the specific Slash's crying sound from the Tokyo tour!
Dude that's awesome, sounds like the beast himself ! Would you mind sharing your pickup height for both the Neck and Bridge pickup (when fretting the 22nd fret) ? After installing them myself, I can't seem to find that sweetspot for the Slash APH-2s. Greatly appreciate it man. Keep on rocking.
Thanks man! Well, it's hard to say... l like them close to the strings to have more attack... but this isn't that much important... it's much more about what you hear. Basically, close to the strings you'll have more attack and proeminent mids and highs...
There's a "sound" and "tone" - you can achieve sound by gear and tone by gear and style of ur playin. But c'mon - it's easy to play for example intro of sweet child o mine and sounds like Slash would play it.
Boosting the signal in fx loop, with the settings in the video... that's how slash got the tone in the UYI tour, so l tested it and seams to work. Basically it's about low cut, and middle/trebble boost.
Tenho um Marshall Origin modificado pela Utopia e um Angry Charlie...com uma Gibson Tribute , consigo um timbre bem próximo do AfD, mas não sabia dessa do EQ no loop, vou tentar, obg pela dica :)
Very nice tone! Do you get this typical sharp sound with lot of high ends with this settings using the bridge humbucker? I tried these settings with a 2525h, APH-1 Humbucker and a 2x12 V30 cab and it sounds like an fuzzpedal was engaged. At lower volume (attentuator), a normal f-powerchrod is very unclear. As i turn the volume up, it seems to get be tter till it is too loud to for my ears. Maybe your 4x12 does a better job? Using Gain on 10 or the GE-7 with higher output as other mentioned, the sound is to dark und much more like a fuzzpedal.

I'm pretty sure that slash didn't use a compressor at all during UYI. At least during Tokyo... there's a picture of his gear from tokyo 1992 and there's no compressor. No pedal and rackmounted neither.. soo just sayin
@@Tefozp Yup! Putting it in front colors the sound a little too much (if the Slash tone from the UYI era (live) is what you are after).
