Thanks for sharing with us! It’s all about the investment strategy, so they may be invested in something totally different than you. Now, I know you’re planning to retire early, but I didn’t see any value EFTs in your portfolio (like VYM, SCHD, etc.). These are dividend growth funds that will pay you dividend income in early retirement so that you don’t have to draw down using the 4% rule. My core position is VOO (70%), my value position is VYM (20%), and my growth position is VUG (10%). I have individual stocks like Apple, Google, Amazon, etc., but I haven’t invested in them for years due to risk. Plus, VOO contains all of these companies. I’m all in on my funds! 🤗
Yes, she did have those type of ETF stocks. She has VTI, VGT, QQQ and also SPY. Not to mention this looks like her personal account; her employer's "target date fund" will definitely include all of those major players that you mentioned. The coverage is present. 😊
@@UA-camFabLifeOfJan1 VGT and QQQ are growth EFTs and VTI and SPY are core EFTs. My comment was on value/income EFTs…like VYM, SCHG, DGRO, etc. I specifically called this to her attention as she plans to retire early and these EFTs, known as dividend growth, would pay dividends in her early retirement so that she wouldn’t need to draw down her principal or capital gains as much. It’s just a strategy I recommend for anyone seeking early retirement.
@@UA-camFabLifeOfJan1 VGT and QQQ are growth ETFs and VTI and SPY are core ETFs. There’s a lot of overlap here, but my point was on value/income ETFs like VYM, SCHD, or DGRO. That way, she doesn’t need to draw down her principal or capital gains in early retirement. @jandabest5261 ok...this is weird, I see your comment in my back office but not on the video. hmmm - perhaps its a utube glitch. But yes, you are so right and thank you for schooling us on that. I am definitely going to look at adding value/income ETFs to my portfolio because I had no idea.
What work obligations am I not meeting? Oh, you may be misunderstanding how this is working. I work 40 hour work weeks - no overtime. What they are trying to incentivize us to do is work a little overtime here and there and then they show us the numbers and then they say they will give us an additional cash bonus if we go over 1800 hours in the year (34hr avg work week). I don't want to work overtime so I don't. And I'm going to go on vacations, so I do. What they are comparing us to are people who do not take vacations. I take vacations with the time I have earned in my PTO account. There are some who take leave without pay and in our industry, that's okay too.
Hi Tinesha, this is a great video and great information. I’m still a bit confused on how you earn $19k off of a $5k contribution? Would love If you could explain this more. Thanks!
Tinesha good for you! I appreciate you telling us your strategy and talking about your Brokerage account. By the way, I looked at a video where you talk about your career. I am thinking about getting into Tech. I am looking at Business Intelligence or Quality Assurance, which one do you think is best? Or what experience have you had with them? Thank you in advance for your response.
@@FunandBudget Thank you :) I do not know if you already have a video that is similar. I wanted to know so that I can make a decision within the next two days. Meanwhile I will do more research. From my understanding Business Intelligence requires more math.
The sponsor/employer picks the funds unfortunately. If you want more control, roll the old 401Ks into a rollover IRA and invest in your desired funds from there.
This is great advice! One thing is I (and so many) have to do baby steps because all of this can feel so overwhelming and cumbersome (you see my old hsa is still hanging around - lol)
Hey hun, thanks for your transparency! Awesome growth in 2 months, and your breakdown was phenomenal! Everyone pay attention to who you vote for this November because one of the candidates has a plan to tax UNREALIZED GAINS (we don't want that!) Take care❤ -Britt
Hi Britt - let's make sense of this: In her campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris has embraced tax increases on a new idea that would require taxpayers with net wealth above $100 million to pay a minimum tax on their UNREALIZED CAPITAL GAINS from assets such as stocks, bonds, or privately held companies. Is this what you are referring to - an idea that is also the same as a concept? Does this apply to you or anyone you know? How many - 1 or 2 people? More? Dang, you and your circle are blessed Because this does not apply to me - I have no where near $100 MILLION nor does ANYONE I know. So not sure who the we is in the We Don't Want That. I get it - ideally we could all be 100 millionaires one day. But you know what...I am not selling my soul, morals or common sense at the idea that in the next 4 years I might hit the lottery and end up with over 100 million to my name. I'll pay the taxes. Some things are not for sale. But maybe I'm missing something?
Great video. I think the key people are missing is you all aren't investing in the same things. My investments great quite nicely in the last 2 months as well. I think people are thinking of the days in the where the market is down but doesn't mean it's down overall. My accounts also don't quite follow the market. It sounds like people are wanting to follow your exact strategy which won't work for everyone. Target date funds are absolutely not the same. I left my old account with my old employer because of that. It outperforms my current one by quite a bit. I'm studying it to taylor it to the same thing. I do single stocks in addition to my other portfolios. The Lord has blessed me in that regard.
Exactly! And the rabbit hole goes even deeper because when I study the reports between the two vanguard target date funds managed by fidelity...they report on DIFFERENT metrics making them nearly impossible to compare. I was heated and cussed all those uninformed ppl we pay to help manage our ish out...grrrr
@FunandBudget I'm with you on this one. This was 1 reason I hesitated to leave my employer. I always encouraged my coworkers to roll over their old 401ks pronto and they all were glad they did. 1 thing I've said is there's a big difference between a 50 year old company's investments vs 100 year old company's. They're not created equal. It helps us but doesn't help those other 401ks unless you can roll it over.
This was a really great and informative video, thank you. Stocks are over my head. I always start to learn about investing but fall off because I don’t understand it. I really enjoyed this video!
Yes I would like to see a video about stocks and etf's

Don't forget to maximize the Roth Ira. No taxes on the Roth investments in retirement.
I max out my 401K, IRA and HSA every year
Long story short she’s on a (slightly) higher level than all of us, which we can all aspire to lol.
Yup slightly higher than some and lower than others...its all good - we figuring this out by and by - lol

You can usually opt for a self directed 401k. I figure it’s worth it to pay a professional though as they’ve beaten the S&P 500 every year
