Really been loving your channel! Great to find a curly girl in the UK who doesn't use expensive products. I'm keen to try some of the products you've tried out as I think we have similar hair, do you mind me asking what density and porosity you have? Thank you new subscriber here ❤️
Hiya Cat! And thank you!! My hair is high porosity, medium to high density and I have pretty thick strands of hair. I will be back with more regular uploads soon 😍
@@JustMims lovely thanks so much that's really helpful. Mine is thinner than yours but I have a lot of it so I will still try some. I look forward to seeing some more videos 🙂
Okay mims. I need your help. I got into the curly girl method after watching your simple videos and your reviews of products. I use the for your curls range. Like you said the mousse is a must for you after their products as they don't have one in their line you use the pantene mousee. I'm not having any trouble buying from my local Tesco just to say this as a side note. People can check online they are in stock too. Now my issue is this, my hair is super dry after my wash day. The next day it's dry and tangly. I do not know what I'm doing wrong. I do the method like you said for your curls and in the end the mousse for the hold. I stopped doing wet plopping and that didn't make a difference. Also I haven't cleansed yet it's been more then a month because I'm trying to find the right deep conditioner to go with it. I used the for your curls conditioner and it wasn't as strong and dried my ends out. Anyway...I'm struggling...I don't usually give up this quickly but the frizz and dryness is putting me off the curly girl method currently. I've invested so much time and money into this now...feel disheartened. Help mins!!!!!! I've also started a oil treatment on a regular basis with alovera gel and then olive oil the night before wash day or sometimes just an hour before depends really. I think this helps. Due to having to due to religious reasons wash my hair more often then once a week I think maybe this curly girl method isn't for me. I also don't co wash. Just been using the for your curls range and the shampoo with every wash day. I don't use products every single time I wash my hair which can be between 3 to 4 times in a week so I just wash with water only. I only use products once a week. P.s. the next day after wash and go. I just use water sprayed and then leave in and finger detangle and this is what happens. I air dry also.
We have got this! I also wash my hair more than once a week, I am not fortunate enough to get away with just one wash day. It sounds like your hair is still struggling with dryness, and potentially shampoo is a little too much even if once a week. As you are washing with water only the other days of the week could you cowash on those days, then really squishing to the conditioner in, leaving a bit in then fishing with mousse? Then one day a week go in with the FYC? For a simple cowash Alberto balsam conditioner if cheap and cheerful. Maybe that way you can still wash your hair 3 or 4 times a week but get a lot of moisture into it, and still feel like your getting a proper cleanse once a week with the shampoo as you are doing now? How long have you been following the CGM? I found for the first month or so my hair felt really grim and honestly i was washing it almost daily. I would recommend taking progress pics, it can feel like you aren't getting any where but it's shocking to see the changes as you look back on photos xx I will try and help as much as possible,
@@JustMims yes cgm has been a month now. Thank you so very much for your quick reply and helping me out. I really love watching your videos. I will do what you suggested and let's see what happens...love you mims. I have taken a couple of pics. xxxxxx
@@JustMims the conditioner though!!!! Thank you so very much for the suggestions. I love the coconut one. Online I got it for 4 pounds and in Poundland it's for 1 pound so needless to say I stocked up after the online purchase. I've heard coconut is good for everything apart from our hair however thats my favourite scent and my hair is doing so well with it. Thank you. Also with the co wash do you use it in your scalp too like a shampoo or just miss to ends? Xxxx
You have such a lovely shine on your hair, can I ask how you know your hair doesn't like coconut?? what does it do to your hair? I've been using Cantu coconut curl cream for ages and whilst it gives pretty good curls there is no shine to my hair, really ever.
Hiya! Coconut can make my hair feel very stringy, almost greasy then loses definition very quickly. I still use products with coconut but I try to use very little :) x
Just Mims thanks, that's really interesting, mine is very stringy on the first day then it seems to improve on subsequent days. I'll have a look for the mousse when I'm next inTesco.. it's all trial and error isn't it 🙂 pity there wasn't a swap shop for barely used products 😀
The part about your husband made me laugh 😂 my curly husband does the same. I bought the banana hair food for myself months ago and now he always buys it for himself and uses it as leave in 😂 today he had really nice curls 😍 I love the pantene Mousse! I went through 3 cans in 2020 but haven't bought any more since, I miss using a mousse so might get some more 🤭 loved your results! So voluminous and defined 😍
It's such a good mousse! I feel like my hair is changing at the moment may have to try some of my older products. Its funny isn't it, CGM by proxy haha 😆 x
