you all prolly dont care but does anybody know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
I enjoyed it but all this jumping around I stopped caring somewhere after 2008 I read the manga for awhile. You can tell gears definitely shifted when health issues started.
I am of the newer generation and I love the series and am trying to get the manga at the moment but it makes me sad that it is so underrated for what it is. Plus it makes me sad that the anime of my favorite characters Lavi and Allen is so underrated.
You know what else broke my heart. Trinity Blood. I don't know if you've heard of this one or liked it, but I felt that one was very solid too and unfortunately the creator died way back in the 2000s. T___T
@@Rezzmari Oh yes Trinity Blood, I loved it so much. I have all the manga up until..well as far as I could... Would love to know if it would ever continue since his apprentice would take it over, then the manga producer went bankrupted etc.
Damn, this was so well made. D. Grayman was one of my first manga pick ups and it really effected my child hood. Thank you for this video, it hit me hard with nostalgia. Keep it up :D
Love D.Grayman!!! I still go back and rewatch the anime episodes that were made. I love the voice actors for Allen and Kanda and I’m sad it ended suddenly
The artwork turned gorgeous ??? Well everyone has their own preferences but i truly hate the changed artwork as well as how the story went/goes.. After Allen left the Order i feel that the author of the manga changed along with the artwork style.. D-Gray man is one of the anime's that i believe it had Very much potential but it got wasted..
Damn shame that the fanbase isn't bigger. I'm one of the few that still follows this series religiously. What I love, and still draws me, about Dgrayman is the fact that it isn't afraid to grow with its audience. It starts out like a typical shounen, however, it quickly evolves into a more of a seinen. The questions they ask, the themes there are, the fact that Hoshino isn't afraid to kill some characters off. Keeps me stuck to this series like glue. Hopefully, it may be able to continue. BUT, ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, the manga is finally getting somewhere major! We may finally get some answers and I"m shook!
Rixia bullshit HXH mangaka is in hitus most the time he get all sleep he can get , also most mangakas have helpers and don't draw manga alone , like naruto mangaka had more then 10 helpers who draw and edit manga with him and he also had predrawn back grounds so his manga always got done on time , HXH mangaka refuse to ise predrawn back ground and he always want to not ise helpers that why he struggleinh but other managaks use help they can get , also manga of 10 chapters get over a year or so to be completed , you understand what a 1year is , it plenty of time .
sakurakou2009 These helpers that you talk about only help with certain minor details, like small backgrounds and background characters and maybe a bit of shading, but the mangaka always is the one putting most of the work. Look at Tite Kubo and how he ended up hating shonen jump after bleach ended, or how Kishimoto said that he was physically unaible to keep drawing his manga. A couple of assistances ain't solving something that messed up.
I really hope the mangaka gets through this. D.Gray-Man is my favorite manga, so I'll wait as long as I have to to continue reading this amazing story.
I completely agree with this. D. Gray-Man is one of two mangas that I've stayed with since I got into anime and it's my #1, no doubt. It means the world to me because of what it's helped me through and I love everything about it. I truly hope things get better for it because it deserves far more recognition than it's gotten.
MasterWalt I can tell you this right now I have rheumatoid arthritis myself so I can kind of understand what she’s going through. Remember my doctor telling me that the three worst places to get arthritis are your spine, your knee (which I have arthritis there) or anything below that, and your hand just because those three places in particular are either used a lot in daily activity, or in my case a lot of pressure is put on those parts even was just standing. Also one of the worst thing about arthritis is that there is no cure, only treatment which using those as my gambling where you are either lucky or not I say this because even when the treatments work at some point they can stop working due to The body getting used to the medication or the arthritis getting stronger and when that happens the arthritis can start to spread to other joints in your body, which is I think what is currently going on with her right now. As for the whole social media stuff another side effect (that is not really connected to the arthritis but it can be caused by it)is that it can ruin a persons social life, i should know this because when I had my arthritis I didn’t want to go anywhere because it was too painful for me to even stand up. Anyways I apologize for the long comment I just figured I’d give people an idea as to what she might be going through.
@@Eru_3ru the question is, who trully are the heroes right now with the Black Order's actions being questionable like them trying to get rid off General Cross
This manga kinda saved my life during a very dark time for me. I just felt like i needed to know how it all ends and so i needed to keep being around to find out. Im much much better now, years later, but this will always have a very special place in my heart and ill be eternally grateful to hoshino for creating this masterpiece.
Add World Trigger to that list, man its just so hard with all these illnesses that these mangaka's go through all for them to make these beautiful stories and artwork come to life but suffering at the same time its just so tragic.
This was surprisingly sad. The bit with the box on her head reminds me of Yoko Taro and the health issues remind me a lot of Togashi. I hope she can recover and someday come back to social media. Wish there was a way to support her money wise because now I feel guilty reading the manga online without compensating the artist.
I don't think buying the volumes would be enough. I mean, it would help her financially but that's not all that is hindering this series. I dunno, I just wish I could do MORE.
Interesting, now it makes sense, i did like the first anime a lot because it was a very unique take to shonen anime which wasn't afraid to deal with dark or religious subject matter, the world, character designs and gothic theme were another thing that attracted me to D.Greyman (and the OST) Sad to hear the creator of the manga had to go through all that (including the bastardization of her characters by the anime studio) but i'm glad she is still continuing to work on it even if it's at a much slower pace.
Uhmm, I thought the real reason was because someone leaked her new chapter of D.gray-man. I was following Katsura Hoshino at the time (I actually just made an instagram to follow her). By my memory(It might be incorrect), she posted one thing before actually deleting her account. I think it stated something about a chapter, or a portion of a chapter being leaked and that she was only allowed by her manager/editor to have an instagram account if it does not create any problem for the series. However after the leak incident, they decided that she had to stop using it. She used to post sketches of the pages and stuff, but not the whole thing. That was what I remember though. It might just be a cover up though.
"bastardization" is an overstatement. Without specifics it is hard to say why she did what she did, but I have never seen anything the merit the reaction of torpedoing the anime.
Great series, a lot of people don’t know it was a huge inspiration for many other anime, most notably blue exorcist and kimetsu no yaiba. Hoshino has been going live on instagram lately with a lot of big announcements coming, so I’m crossing my fingers that one of them can either be an announcement of dgm getting back into WSJ, or a anime remake. Jump is kinda running out of big series now anyway and it could use a darker manga like dgm
Do you have a source on KNY being inspired by the series? I believe it, since they have many similarities, but that sounds interesting and I wanna know if that was confirmed.
I am not surprised that piece of artwork pissed her off. I was very confused by it, I understand that is a popular fan pairing. But it undermines not only those two characters, but the entire Ark of Hallow. Kandas backstory and connection to Alma is incredibly important and non sexual, that we as the audience ever see, but it is romantic. And that is the biggest driving force of Kanda as a character is his love for Alma, this kinda....threw that out the window for a fanon ship.
In fact I'm shipping this two, but I don't think it is okay for studios to make such an artwork without permission. I think it is okay for fans to ship characters and do artworks to it, but they aren't making advertisement with it. That is the greatest difference. Advertising with falsehood is just disgusting.
This isn't even a lie. She has every right to be pissed off with that. This animation was meant to be a canon interaction to an audience, not to promote a 'pairing', especially when on canon Kanda already has a beloved, his connection with Alma is a bond you cannot break so easily. They damaged his identity and his independence as a character. Good on you Hoshino.
as a person who does a webtoon (pretty much a manga) i have a different love for my characters,i want them to be shown the way i intended in my work,i would lose my sh!t if a studio i trusted turned that image of my characters into, something like THAT,i would not have done things like stopping blue rays, but oooo boyy i would give the art director quite the ear full
That fujoshi bait artwork has kind of a deviantart look to it. It would probably look better if kandas shirt were pulled down to cover his weird hip bones and abs.
Apparently she has carpal tunnel. And if it is true I really admire and commend her for her dedication. Most artist would have to unwillingly give up their craft.
moonlightstripes well if it is just carpal tunnel she should have recovered years ago. It’s treated with a simple procedure , you just cut the transverse carpal ligament just a small cut to release enough pressure to stop it from compressing the median nerve . Honestly it’s one of the simplest inexpensive surgeries with almost a 100% success rate . So I don’t think that is what she has .
daly5297 I started reading some stuff to it and unfortunately its not a 100% rate. And even if the surgery was successful, due to the nature of her work the condition is more likely to reoccur. But i guess we will never know about her condition since she is a very private person. I think she also suffers from anxiety so maybe the pressure (along with other stuff going in her life) discouraged or disabled her from creating her art.
You appear to conflate run-of-the-mill carpal tunnel syndrome with the severe case that she is supposedly afflicted with, or had. Carpel tunnel is very common, and is seen across all walks of life. It is even a common characteristic of pregnancy (via water retention). It is a pinched nerve, not a debilitating disease, and is usually resolved via old-fashioned R and R and maybe a splint. You say that carpal tunnel routinely scares artists, but that's not the case at all. If, by some chance, Hoshino's carpal tunnel is serious, it ought to be treated as the rare case it is. That said; the carpal tunnel claim is unsubstantiated.
D.gray man will always be my favorite manga even if the anime isn't my favorite anime. I love the dark vibe she put in and her take on good/evil which in d.gray man seems to be a gray zone. I do hope she will be able to finish the series and I'll wait for it no matter how long it takes. Thank you for the video
I am, to this day, still a follower of DGM. In fact, I even have a poster of it on my wall right now. I love the series, I grew up with it, and I will see it to the end whatever that may be.
D.gray-man is definitely my favourite manga. And no matter what that’ll never change. The only thing that I’m really scared about with its current schedule is the possibility that it’ll never have a conclusion. I want D.Gray-Man to have the ending it deserves, and I want Hoshino herself too feel good about it too. I believe the choice of characters in that piece of art that got her to cancel the DVD releases was the biggest problem. The Hallow anime was about Kanda’s relationship with Alma, not Allen. Not to mention the unauthorized sexualization if her characters by an official company is probably something that ticked her off too. But I guess we’ll never really know much about what happened with Hallow. Anyway my point is that I love D.Gray-Man and I wish the best for Hoshino and hope that she feels better, both physically and mentally in due time. Definitely gonna subscribe! This is some quality content and I really enjoyed it!
Oh, finally someone makes a whole video about D. Gray-man and its problem, thanks a lot. DGM has always meant a lot to me, it was the first manga that I started to buy on my own (a little over 10 years already), and its since become one of my biggest influences. Which only makes it so much depressing, it used to be one of my favorite manga but as the years pass by and with its scarce updates, I sometimes have trouble keeping my interest on it. As a loyal fan I can only keep buying DGM content to support Katsura Hoshino, I can only keep believing in her, but even now I don't know if DGM will keep existing with this pace. I don't want to lose hope in something I love so much, but it's honestly hard with how it's been in the last few years. I feel so helpless, because I know I can't do much.More than just seeing DGM have a proper end, I want Katsura Hoshino to be okay.
Personally, I'd like to play as Lenalee out of any DGM character. I like her fighting moves the most in the series. But if we can get any DGM character, it'd be a win.
Ooooh so that's why she was so angry about Hallow. I had no idea about that artwork but looking at it now, yeah I can see why she was so angry. The studio basically defiled two characters that were never meant to be like this, all for advertising the show. If it was a fanmade thing, I doubt she would be so angry because there's plenty of Yullen around already even when the series was going strong, but given that this studio had her permission and then went against her back like this...yikes . I'm happy that she's continuing her work even under such strenuous circumstances with her health and scheduling, but as a fan, it is a little frustrating to support and wait for so little amount of work in return. I've supported this series since 2006 and I love it a lot.
Well, I for the love of god can't see why she got so angry. It's a promotional picture made to attract some fangirls who dig yaoi. The picture itself wasn't exactly explicit or pornographic. It's not like the studio changed the plot to make Allen and Kanda fuckbuddies. On the other hand, making anime is expensive, and blocking BR sales probably costed the studio a fortune. Sure, it's her IP so she can do what she wants, but to me it looks like a big overreaction followed by a really immature business decision.
I appreciate her reaction. The production company pushing through promo that wasn't approved is a low move on their part and I appreciate that she did something about it. Especially when the quality of the artwork itself doesn't reflect well on either Hoshino's or the production company's work. It's also not the first time that she's been some level of upset that some aspect of her vision for the series or characters was changed, which may have been why she reacted so strongly this time. I think cancelling the dvd/blu-rays was a bit too extreme, but I agree overall with no longer continuing the contract with that production company.
Hell yeah. Even as a creator who's happy to have super duper gay stuff going on, I would have been just as livid to have my story and characters misrepresented in official promos just to bait people and lure in fujoshis. What happened to her characters was simply heinous. Whoever put the green light on that pic really screwed up, and worse yet the pic itself is bland and lifeless. :X Her reaction was big and harsh, but I'm glad she put her foot down...here's to hoping the series makes a comeback, though. I really feel for y'all that've stuck with the series even through all of the hiatuses and holdups.
Y'all are acting like they killed her firstborn lol Which i guess, as an artist, I can relate if someone butchered my vision of my characters. I don't think the picture's subject matter was as big of an issue as it seems, though. It's not THAT bad as far as other bait official art goes with characters hugging or hanging off each other - Anime studios do it all the time especially for female characters and no one bats an eye. As an artist who allows Anime/other companies to use your series for profit in exchange for exposure to your work you do have to accept some alterations so it sells (ex. offical Anime art of AUs like maids, coffee shops, beach scenes, etc.) I think what happened is she had multiple gripes with the studio and this just happened to be the one that ticked her off at her high-point of being pissed off. She needed one more push and they gave it. It's really sad and I'm glad she put her foot down, however it seems this just nicked what could have been a blooming flower in her career. No Anime sales means no advertising or hype. No sales or hype means the popularity for the manga goes down. Lack of popularity means the company won't bend over backwards for you anymore. She is clearly an artist with a lot of passion for her work so I have no doubt the magazine had to make accommodations for her as a result, but if she's not bringing in the money? There's no real reason to do that. Add that to her lack of page production and the clear business solution would be to move her work to a lesser-read magazine so her schedule isn't a glaring issue but her series can still keep going. I truly hope she gets better. I have to wonder if she has a medical condition preventing her from churning out pages, which is common for artists who don't take breaks to stretch while they work. It also seems like she's going through burnout with those low page numbers. One day I do hope to see the end to this series as it's one of the few that I only read the manga for, but never watched the Anime. Her art was such an inspiration for me as a kid.
D.Gray-man is killing me. When the first chapters in years came out I was the only one in our group of mangafans that was still checking the online updates frequently and man, my heart went right through the rooftop when I saw that new chapter. I love it so much but I'm also kind of nervous where the whole thing is going. Will there ever be a propper end to the story? Will all those questions that haunt me be answered? Please don't drop it, Hoshino-san.
I feel kinda bad I really like the original show and the manga. But it feels as tho it will never end. I also kinda forget the story sometimes so I gotta reread a lot. Tbh I really hope the mangaka is well. I have the same hopes for Oda
It’s honestly such a shame that a wonderful, emotional and thrilling anime/manga series ended up this way, D.Gray-Man is by far my favourite series and I have so much respect towards Hoshino and hope she is doing much better, you can tell how dedicated she is to the series and how much she got hurt.
Hoshino deleting her instagram and the cancellation of the hallow release are not directly related. When Hoshino first started her instagram, she promised that she would in no way state anything negative about the anime/fan merch/ect, aka what all mangaka avoid doing because it can have a potential negative impact on the fanbase. she wasn't "furious" about the kanda/allen magazine poster-- she posted on instagram that she didn't like, thought it was ugly, etc but then she realized she shouldn't have commented on it publicly. Because she broke her "promise" to herself, she deleted her public instagram and issued an apology-- I'm pretty sure she still has a private one though. As for the hallow dvd cancellations, we'll probably never know. They were initially delayed because hallow's animation quality was horrible, which meant a lot of time in post-production to re-do scenes, clean things up, etc for the bluray release. But while this process is going on, the animation studio still needs to work on upcoming shows/current shows. So Hallow's dvd and bluray cancellation was probably a result of not enough time to clean up/redo scenes for the release, not enough pre-orders to justify the amount of work to go into it, and probably hoshino disliking the new adaptation (though there is NO guarantee about this). Also, there was the announcement of another art book release, but it's been indefinitely delayed. At least they're still releasing the PVC figures and a current collaboration for jewelry/clothing/accessories. Also, back in 2013, Hoshino also took time to work on the character designs for Kakumeiki Valvrave (Valvrave the Liberator). I love d.gray-man so much, and while I wish we had more consistency in releases, I will continue to support hoshino and the series.
Thank you for clarifying this. The lack of time to redo the series in better quality being the cause of the DVD cancellation has definitely more sense than Hoshino getting mad for some suspicious promotional image.
I don't want to sound rude (but) I alway had the impression that D. gray-man was always this manga/anime everyone knew and knew it was a classic and awesome but nobody really watched
Tori Well I started out watching the original anime years back and I absolutely fell in love with it. I re-watched the series over the years and then Hallow finally made its appearance. I wasn’t too big on Hallow cause the way it was animated was too colorful unlike the original. But that didn’t change my love D.grayman I don’t think it was until 2017 when I actually read the manga from the beginning up until recently.
Oh I'm from America lol. Rasmussen is actually Danish so you're not far off. Pretty common in Denmark if I should say. No hard feelings. *Still weeping till this day*
Dude I feelssss. I think at least for me and mabye for u, this series stood out like a needle in a haystack because it represented life. Just the way these characters dressed, acted, and places they went, all had these dark under tones. The show didn't pretend to be happy. I feel like the tones give a good repsentation of what everybody feels like on the inside without trying to pretend. Which is interesting because the main bad guy is a clown(who is suppost to make people laugh and be happy) and yet wears his role like a mask, meanwhile he's the most sinister of them all. Alan walker himself is a paradox because he carries these tremendous horrors, but yet, through it all he smiles first kind of faky but then out of his heart because of the warmth and acceptance from his co-workers. Ahh! There's just so much depth. Mabye that answers u'r dilemma.
This makes me so sad as someone who loved watching d Gray man as a teen. It's still one of my favourite animes and to know about this breaks my heart. I hope she'll be able to recover and get back to continuing the manga.
I'm so glad I found this video! I am one of the few people I know who even has D. Gray Man as one their favorite shounens on anime related social media and groups. I made a poll when Hallow was going to air and most people thought the series was cancelled or never even heard about it. It's sad about all this tragedy surrounding one underrated series and Hallow made people think less of it, I dropped it after episode one despite my three episode rule. I could already tell it wasn't up to par with the manga. But anyway it's nice to see others still care about it and some enough to make videos on it!
I was the same with Hallow, i watched the first ep to the ending, but knew it wasn't going to live up to the original. But ofc, being me, i went back after a while and pushed through till the end. It def didn't live up, but it was at least nostalgic and funny to see some of my fav scenes re-done lol (if somewhat badly).
!!! when i saw this video pop up on my homepage i was practically attacked by a flood of anticipation and nostalgia, imo there's never enough content about hoshino/d.gray-man in general. she's always been (and will continue to be) one of my favorite artists for both her style and ability to create characters, and it's been frustrating to see her struggles go unnoticed. while i'm not the biggest fan of the current limbo the series is in, i'm grateful that it hasn't been cruelly axed in a bid to save money u.u hopefully there might be some future turnaround that will breathe some new life into the fandom and help give support for the author much appreciation for this video, i'll be subbing to see more like it!
I really hope that Hoshino can get what she wants from her series. She's such a talented manga kai and could balance tragedy and humor so well. One of the many things that made her series so captivating. The series has been a long standing favorite of mine and has had a major impact on my own drawing style. It just inspired me to become a better storyteller and artist all around.
D.Gray-Man is one of my favorite anime/manga since I was a kid. It makes me feel very sad to understand this situation and all I can do is hope and pray that Katsura Hoshino will be well to finish her work one day.
D.gray-man will always have a special place in my heart as the first anime and manga I've watched/read and as one of my favorites topped only by masterpieces like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but without a doubt, I would prefer to have a ending to this than FMA: BH any day of the week.
I WILL FOREVER LOVE DGM AHH to me, it's the best manga out there; completely original and unique. i've seen so many manga that definitely got their inspiration from hoshino. and, i'm sure she'll finish the manga guys!!! she still loves dgm, she just got an allen walker figurine recently!! :D anyway i'm just really sad, this series has SO MUCH potential. it still does. but due to all those reasons it's not getting the recognition it deserves :( oh well i'm just glad she's not giving up on the manga, and i really hope one day dgm will popularise once again (apparently it's still very popular in japan, just not so much in english speaking countries. it's in the top 40 best selling manga if I'm not wrong)
I don't think there's much hope of DGM regaining major popularity. With how things played out in the second anime series...it's probably dead on that medium and that limits the range the franchise can reach. Still going to be a strong manga and have good popularity. But with that major source of attention non-existent and the current rate the manga comes out....just don't see it becoming as popular again as it was at one point in the past.
Thanks again for the shout out and the support! It really means a lot! You work hard on your videos and why not support it. I didn't know she had an Instagram account and after I know how she would feel if your characters are being displayed in a way that doesn't represent the series. I'm not sure when she is going to finish the series, but I hope that she reaches her goal since the series is my 8th favorite Shonen Jump manga. Are you going to do a World Trigger video someday? Hope you're doing well! Thanks again and keep kicking ass with your videos!
May i ask, what are the other series on your favorites list? I haven't read a lot of Shonen manga but mine would be, HxH, Death Note, FMA, Bakuman, Yu Yu Hakasho and Slam Dunk. (the order just gives my general view of quality but i'd have to reread some of these to be sure).
Sure thing. My favorite manga series is 1. Berserk 2. Yu-Gi-Oh! 3. YuYu Hakusho 4. Vagabond 5. Fullmetal Alchemist 6. Naruto 7. Hunter x Hunter 8. D. Gray-Man 9. Hellsing 10. Dragon Ball 11. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 12. One Piece 13. Ranma 1/2. Thank you for your questions! Take care and have a good week! :D
I am extremely sad that d gray man hollow stopped I I have seen both the original and this one and it left quite a hole in me like what happened to Allen arm did he get completely absorbed by the Noah what happens to his master did he really die cause there wasn't any corpse there I am so sad that it stopped
I never got the chance to see it, but one day when the series is complete then maybe we will get the chance to either finish the anime or get a reboot. Until then keep supporting the series and take care! :D
Excellent video, man and you have earned a sub from me. D-Gray man holds a very special place in my heart. It was the first major anime I ever got into. The art style was divine, a beautiful mix of gothic and Christian inspired artwork. The characters, especially Allen Walker, are some of the most memorable in anime. But I will be honest; the hiatuses made me forget the series. It is sad that this series does not get enough attention for it I argue it has moments that eclipse a lot of more popular SJ series, like OP, Naruto etc. I truly hope Hoshino is okay. Because, I truly believe that this series deserves so much more. Heck, if I were apart of a major anime studio and had an immense amount of money, I'd want to reboot D-gray-man's anime. Overall, thank you for this video. It brought back a lot of good memories.
thank you for talking about D.Gray-Man!! it is so frustrating how underrated it is because, as you said in your other video, that manga is fucking genius. i remember the sadness i felt when DGM just stopped being published and the utter joy when a new chapter came out after almost 3 years, like hearing news from an old dear friend. Allen is one of my favourite shonen heroes ever and a comfort character of mine, so even if we don't get much, i'm happy we get something. I trust and support Hoshino and the majority of fans are willing to be patient in order to get the story she has in mind.
I LOVED THIS! I was introduced to DGM about ten years ago when I myself was 10 via the anime and it was the first anime I really took interest in, going as far as scouring the internet for the spanish translated manga (at the time my english was BAD). I watched the original series and followed as closely as I could the manga itself, but living in Mexico and having mediocre-at-best english complicated that. I recently rewatched the original run and subsequently Hallow and I was reminded of how good this is. I still am not an avid anime watcher/manga reader but I have devoted myself to exactly 5 series and DGM still is my #1. Anyways, as a nostalgic little bean, I really appreciate this (even more so because your hardwork and dedication is palpable through the screen). Keep it up❤️
As someone who has nearly followed Dgraymen since it first came out, this series is a major part of my life. I remember when suddenly chapters stopped coming out like they used to, and at the time i had no way to even read the sparse ones that did come out, to me it felt like the series had just dropped off the face of the earth. Not having any friends that liked the show, much less anime, i was completely alone in my worries, and eventually the series started fading away from my memory. I remember that i'd heard a rumor that the series would continue, and it sparked so much hope in me that i went back and re-watched and re-read everything i could find about it. I felt horrible having forgotten about it, and i'm still as loyal. I love the fandom because we've continued to stand by it and accept the fact that we're in this for a long time. In some ways the series being drawn out like it is, is good to me. It's compelled so many fans to think of extremely detailed theories, and given the fandom time to bond and come together and debate things. But then again, this is just ramblings from a random long term fan on the internet. I'm gonna leave you alone and go re-read the series again, and most likely look up those magazines so i can start collecting the Dgrayman copies! Thank you so much for this amazing video, and for potentially spreading the series to more people who might find an interest in the series. Much love
I cannot thank you enough for sharing this. This series has saved me and is keeping me going throughout life. I respect Katsura Hoshina and her work. I worry for her health and well being. I know it’ll be long time before DGM ends but I’m ok with that. I’ll continue to read and watch Series forever and I’ll be cheering for her and supporting her. Thanks again
When FUNimation didn't release any more episodes beyond 50+ I lost interest. I remember REALLY liking it many many years ago and then all of a sudden.....nothing. I'm also like that with the Vagabond manga. Its great but the friggin' guy takes SO MANY hiatuses. Ugh.
Same but for me it was Netflix. I found it on there maybe 4-5 years ago and watched the first few seasons and waited for another. Forgot about it and it eventually got removed from Netflix. But then Hallow came out and I got caught up...and then back to waiting. Guess I’ll just forget about it again for a few years lol
Katsura has pretty bad wrists, so she's been slow with her updates but she never stops amazing us and keeping us hanging by a thread--especially now more than ever.
the new d-gray man hallow anime didn't felt as epic as the first series. They should have been watchign their old work and inspire themselves to be even more gritty and dark. instead of going for the generic anime vibe
I think the color scheme was to blame, as the artwork was referenced from the most recent chapter of the series. If they kept the dark/morbid color tune, it would've at least retain its dark atmosphere in the original series.
ad ds If you actually want D-Gray man to still be successful, you should be VERY sad about the DVD/BD not publishing. A series needs to be popular to continue existing, and releasing sometimes less than 4 chapters a year is the best way to fade in to obscurity. Even a meh anime adaptation could still bring new fans and reignite interest in old fans. By blocking the DVD's she most likely blacklisted herself for every anime studio in existence, so no more D-gray man anime (or any other potential work she might do next). Without an anime to get new fans and with the current release schedule, expect D-gray man to start fading in obscurity more and more, until the fan base will be too small for the magazine to continue keeping the series alive. Basically, she might have shoot herself in the foot very hard with that move and brought her series closer to cancellation.
Man I loved D-gray man I had heard about the hand injury but your video really informed well on what exactly was going on so thank you Also I wanted to talk about the way the second anime portrayed the characters it was good but I just couldn't help but feel there was something weird just couldn't put my finger on it now when I think about I guess it really was in how they portrayed them so I guess she was right to be mad
Great Video, Alex! This is quality content! and I feel bad about Hoshino, D-gray man is a really good manga, and I'm a great fan, I would hate to see it fade away.
This series has been very close to my heart ever since I started watching the anime when I was 14- so 6 years ago. Allen was honestly a role model to me and whenever I was going through something hard, I’d think of how strong and positive he was, and how he kept smiling through everything. He never gave up and kept fighting for his friends. Seeing this video really hits home, because it really does feel like the series is dying, and it might just keep going on like this for years. But regardless of how sparse the publications are or how frustrating it might be for other fans, I hope we all remember the beautiful series Hoshino gave us and the hope her characters gave many of us. Let’s keep supporting her as much as we can. Never stop walking❤️ (Also, thank you for clearing up the history of D.Gray-man for everyone!)
Did you watch this as a child? I heard of this being on cartoon network but I didn't view him as much of a role model until season 2 and season 2 wasn't dubbed or on regular television until recently. I watched DGM when I was younger too though, back when it was on Netflix. I got more into after my obsession with ATLAB faded... I honestly liked the characters of ATLA better than D.Gray-Man, even now. I enjoyed DGM because of the plot and also because I really, really shipped Allen and Lenalee back then ~hahaha.
I think waiting for the mangaka to work through it at her pace will be well worth it. I’ve been a fan since I was 13 and I’m almost 27 now. It’s too beautiful and creative to be rushed. No matter how she chooses to end it I will be satisfied.
I'm really surprised to find a video about DGM, which is sad that it isn't common. I hope we at least get an proper ending, because I keep remebering about how Katekyo Hitman Reborn had a abrupt open ending. And I also hope Hoshino is okay, it would be nice to have a way to communicate with her and say how much I love her writing and drawing, I love this series so, so much, that I almost cried watching this video lmao. And it would be amazing if the whole fandom united and did something to show we are still here, that we love DGM, and maybe help Hoshino. Thanks for the video man
Considering how bad shipping communities are these days, I can understand her frustration at the animation studio making, what is essentially, official artwork teasing two characters. I imagine she got a lot of comments about it on Instagram
No matter how many manga i read or anime i watch, whether it's Naruto or others, but D-GRAY will always have a special place in my heart! the amount of emotion that is present in D-Gray man and story itself really touches my heart! D-Gray Man will remain only best manga ever for me! I wish she could read what i'm telling her, because she is a great writer! One of the best writer! I fell in love with this manga because i like dark, and gothic stuff, it's like she brings you to a different world of fantasy and knowledge! She is really impressive! I wish she can complete her story!
Whatever the condition may be but I will remain the fan of d grayman forever from the beginning till the end i will always love d grayman whether it take years to complete and even if it is not to be completed It is my first favourite manga and I will never forget it
Thanks for making this video, it's VERY thorough and well-researched! Like you said, only the really devoted ones have stuck around so it's nothing short of surprising to see a dgm video coming out at this time! Plus, I often see people wonder what's going on with dgm without having a clue about its publication issues, so I'm glad this can educate more who might be wondering about that. There's more to the story too, considering that not only were the Hallow dvds cancelled, but there were two books coming out- a fanbook and a second art book. Both were rescheduled twice, and the fanbook was eventually published while the artbook was cancelled. The hallow dvds has also been reschedules multiple times before their cancellation. There was an interview Hoshino did last year, but Jump took it down, too. So please keep in mind that, while there is no specific official reason for the dvds being cancelled, it's also not just because of the kanda & allen magazine promo spread (which, just as a note, she specifically stated that her problem was with the marketing team sexualizing & twisting her characters for the sole purpose of making money). Most likely, it was due to all of these issues put together as well as (or stemming from?) poor performance. One thing I wish you would've reconsidered on your video is the wording on Hoshino's view of the anime. The only thing she ever spoke about negatively in her instagram was the magazine spread, which she did very firmly but politely, but she never voiced any dislike or distrust towards the anime. In fact, she'd kindly bought the team donuts with box art drawn by herself as a thank you. I doubt Hoshino herself would have ever wanted for the dvds to be cancelled as it would've made fans happy to support the series, regardless of what her personal opinion of Hallow might been.
I wonder if it's possible that a manga like this continues as a light novel. That way the releases wouldn't take so long and it'd be a lot easier for Hoshino's health.
That would be cool for this series, I think. If Hoshino did illustrations for it like she did with the other light novels then I think I would accept that. Especially if the anime adaptations could adapt it and carry the story on again right until the end as well.
AlexEnterprises1 Yeah, but I think bureaucracy and contractual reasons don't let that happen. Unless the manga is "cancelled" and the light novel is a "sequel" if you know what I mean.
Bleach is continuing on in light novels with Tite Kubo providing story points, supervision, and artwork. So yeah, it should be possible. But it seems like, to me anyway, that she has no real interest in continuing the series. Maybe it would be better if she took an indefinite amount of time off, got right, and found her drive again.
Loved the video! Regarding the anime poster, I believe when it happened Hoshino stated on her Instagram she doesn't mind regarding what fans ship. She wants fans to enjoy the show in their own way and it wasn't about the shipping of characters at all to her. It was the fact that the anime studio themselves made a suggestive poster that gave off the wrong image of DGM just to make sales, and that didn't sit well with her as Allen and Kanda were being "used"; that wasn't her DGM. It's not that she doesn't want people to ship them, she doesn't want official advertisements to tease and bait something she didn't want for her characters and try to pass it off as official. I think in her post she took particular issue with Kanda in the image, as that was not "Kanda" to her. Overall, I just hope Hoshino can recover and tell us her version of DGM without studios sabotaging her or the deadly work conditions of a shounen mangaka.
Back when the anime had first ended i did look up and found where the author made a public post about how she was being treated unfairly by shonen jump and wasn't getting paid enough for the work she put into it and could barely make a living so she broke away from it and hoped to somehow earn enough money to buy back the full publishing rights of D. Gray-man from shonen. However I tried a few months ago and can't find any hint of this post ever existing so I think it got covered up to get back on the good side of Jump and had hope because of the new anime adaptation. It sucks it didn't continue as well as I would have liked.
A very underrated series. The manga is gorgeously illustrated and well written. It has the best gothic art style of Tim Burton when he used to be good and made a manga. I put it above others like blue exorcist and bleach.
Its such a shame, I remember watching the anime which got me into the series, until I wad told about the state of the manga which makes me hesitant with catching up (its the same reason why I didnt finish HxH) I loved D. Gray-Man and so to see it in this state is saddening
Crystian Corona I was in the same boat but I gave into temptation and read it from the beginning up until the recent update. I don’t regret it since it’s soooo good but it makes me so sad that it takes a long time to update. But hey the slow updates are understandable, the authors health should come first
D.Gray-Man, World Trigger, and HxH... My Jump Hiatus Trio... as sad as Hoshino, Ashihara, and Togashi's situations are, I'm staying with them for the long haul.
Yes haha! Tiki has one of the coolest character designs and personalities that match so well. Hopefully you can look back on a completed series one day then.
Thanks for putting all of this together! I've been a big fan of DGM for a long time and despite its hiatuses and short chapter lengths (which isn't too much of a problem for me personally), I've kept up with it and am hoping that Hoshino recovers and keep going with the series until it finds a clean ending. Great video :)
This kinda things what make me pretty worried about Berserk. Correct me if I am wrong, there were definitely a couple of chapters of D.Gray-man manga that really kinda half done, like scribble drawings, totally different to the usual arts. This series start off good, continued to become amazing (especially since the start of Edo Japan island arc). But i forgot why i totally drop reading manga about a year or 2 ago.
You know, I actually can't recall there being one of those chapters with D.Gray-Man. I always thought that it was just Togashi's HxH that had the infamous scribbles releases. Instead of scribbles, Hoshino releases with less pages as opposed to less content. But yeah I completely agree, you're right about being worried for Berserk - especially after the recent chapter (being split in two releases that were both roughly 10 pages.) It's quite similar to what Hoshino did/does so hopefully Miura cuts it out.
Eric Nick world trigger is definitely fucked. Its anime never took off and its manga is on hiatus so I feel like its done as soon as it comes back HxH is fine until togashi ends it. The anime was a huge hit in Japan and even in the West. And jump has togashi on the same level of respect as oda.
It is such a beautifullly dark story and I love it to bits. I really hope for a conclusion, but fully understand is Hoshino can't make it. It will always have a special place in my heart.
D.Gray-Man was, and I guess I’d say still is one of my favorite shounen anime. At the time, it just seemed like a darker, more gritty shounen series than all the other popular shounen series at the time. It’s just a shame the anime ran out of source material and ended where it did because it felt like it had a pretty abrupt ending. I can’t really fault Hoshino either because it seems like she had a lot of setbacks and even then, we don’t know the full story because she’s not willing to share it. Considering her release schedule, I can believe the rumors that she has arthritis because I don’t understand why the releases would be so limited unless she was working on something else.
Bear in mind Hallow was a rushed pile of doodoo as well, that didn't help. Wish they simply made it a reboot instead of a continuation. They chopped out a lot of important dialogue too.
I just want Lavi to come back... and for Hoshino to be alright. I'd picked up bits and pieces of the trouble around the anime, but didn't see the picture until now. It's a damn shame the release got cancelled, although I understand her stance, since personally i loved the newer anime even more.
Thank you very much for everything you told us......am Reading D.Gray Man and i really wanted to know what happened to the anime but now thanks to you i know everything. You're a very hardworking dude Hope you pass more than 1000 milion Subs!
D gray man wasnt my first anime but it was definitely my fav. i'll definitely wait patiently for it to return. Thank you Hoshino sensei for this masterpiece^^ fighting!!!!
D. Gray Man is the reason why I discovered my talent and the reason that I have been introduced in the world of anime and manga 💕✨ I thank thee the author/artist for bringing such a masterpiece of an art.
From the moment I picked up the first book I fell in love with this series. I started reading just before her second 2 year hiatus. I got so excited cuz the day i finally caught up with all the chapters there was a new one that came out, little did I know it wouldn't come out again for a few years.....
The author is so unlucky I really hope she can finish telling her story tho. You can tell it's her passion and for her as well as for anyone who is deeply invested in the story, it'd be so sad if it never found a good end :/
Tbh I was one of those who was constantly waiting for the manga release. But the delay became unbearable that I total forgot that the manga was still on-going and eventually stopped reading it for like 5 years ago.
First off Well made this explained so much, like I love the series and wondered why it was like this. Second No matter what happens I'll always love the series.😭😊
I'm actually watching the first anime and loving it so far. There are lots of things that it questions and shows to a person. It's really sad considering its former potential.
I became aware of this great show when my Directv package included an Anime channel. Often they would do mini marathons of shows and D. Gray-Man became a favorite. Like all good tv worth watching they eventually removed it. This show, Wolf's Rain & Fullmetal Alchemist :Brotherhood often had me tearing up the shows were so sadbut soooooo good.

D.gray-man is one of the most underrated shonen anime’s I’ve ever seen
Facts
I enjoyed it but all this jumping around I stopped caring somewhere after 2008 I read the manga for awhile. You can tell gears definitely shifted when health issues started.
I am of the newer generation and I love the series and am trying to get the manga at the moment but it makes me sad that it is so underrated for what it is. Plus it makes me sad that the anime of my favorite characters Lavi and Allen is so underrated.
what's the difference between d gray man and d gray man hollow?
tenshiri _dono I mean hallow is a continuation of the first d gray man so I guess the difference is the animation
I just want to know the ending before i die. This series is killing me
You know what else broke my heart. Trinity Blood. I don't know if you've heard of this one or liked it, but I felt that one was very solid too and unfortunately the creator died way back in the 2000s. T___T

D grayman updates once every 3-4 months now. The artwork turned gorgeous but the pacing is too slow right now.
lordnazzer it’s updated the manga!

ANIME
I use r/dgrayman if that's what you mean
do you have a certain Manga website to read it?
I have the physical copies, but you could use mangarock. If that doesn't work, just google it.
It was interesting from what I watched, but not godly or anything. After this video I might just opt to wait for it to complete.

good luck
Something has to be done about the unhuman work schedule and stress that the mangakas have to go through at shonen jump.
I wonder how Oda can endure this, he takes a weekly break every 2-3 chapters though
Wtf is unhuman , they draw not do physical labor , stop being dramatic
sakurakou2009 it's really not that simple, all of that work takes a toll on them in it's own way
Rixia bullshit HXH mangaka is in hitus most the time he get all sleep he can get , also most mangakas have helpers and don't draw manga alone , like naruto mangaka had more then 10 helpers who draw and edit manga with him and he also had predrawn back grounds so his manga always got done on time , HXH mangaka refuse to ise predrawn back ground and he always want to not ise helpers that why he struggleinh but other managaks use help they can get , also manga of 10 chapters get over a year or so to be completed , you understand what a 1year is , it plenty of time .
sakurakou2009 These helpers that you talk about only help with certain minor details, like small backgrounds and background characters and maybe a bit of shading, but the mangaka always is the one putting most of the work.
Same, D.Gray-Man is my favorite manga.
I completely agree with this. D. Gray-Man is one of two mangas that I've stayed with since I got into anime and it's my #1, no doubt. It means the world to me because of what it's helped me through and I love everything about it. I truly hope things get better for it because it deserves far more recognition than it's gotten.
MasterWalt i dont mind the wait, when i get the chance to read it im happy. I Hope she will be able to continue and do her best
same. i don't have much hope on the anime but i'm really praying for the continuation of the manga. The story really, really amazing!!!
I just wanna know how D.Gray-Man ends so that I can die happy.

This was surprisingly sad. The bit with the box on her head reminds me of Yoko Taro and the health issues remind me a lot of Togashi. I hope she can recover and someday come back to social media. Wish there was a way to support her money wise because now I feel guilty reading the manga online without compensating the artist.
I say buy the volumes.
I don't think buying the volumes would be enough. I mean, it would help her financially but that's not all that is hindering this series. I dunno, I just wish I could do MORE.
@@endymionisrafieldeios7362 Get good at art and work as her assistant to help speed up her work flow, maybe reduce the stress of her job?
Interesting, now it makes sense, i did like the first anime a lot because it was a very unique take to shonen anime which wasn't afraid to deal with dark or religious subject matter, the world, character designs and gothic theme were another thing that attracted me to D.Greyman (and the OST)
Sad to hear the creator of the manga had to go through all that (including the bastardization of her characters by the anime studio) but i'm glad she is still continuing to work on it even if it's at a much slower pace.
I still think it really wasn't cool of her to stop the dvd sales and make the anime a flop.
But its not shonen but seinen.
I think it was shounen when it's first released. The story has developed into seinen in the recent chapters since they're more mature now.
As well as Tokyo Ghoul, TSE, Fire Force, JJK, Tegami Bachi e.t.c
L T wow I didn’t know that very interesting
That is very interesting to know I love d gray man such an amazing underrated series
What's Hoshino's IG? 😱
@@LeoArmada What Webtoon bro?
Apparently she has carpal tunnel. And if it is true I really admire and commend her for her dedication. Most artist would have to unwillingly give up their craft.
moonlightstripes well if it is just carpal tunnel she should have recovered years ago. It’s treated with a simple procedure , you just cut the transverse carpal ligament just a small cut to release enough pressure to stop it from compressing the median nerve . Honestly it’s one of the simplest inexpensive surgeries with almost a 100% success rate . So I don’t think that is what she has .
It’s depression drawing the same shit for years js
daly5297 I heard that it can’t be completely cured even if one has the procedure done :(
daly5297 I started reading some stuff to it and unfortunately its not a 100% rate.

I think Allen Walker should be in Jump Force
JIMBOYKELLY I agree he would be dope
^
This guy gets it
Personally, I'd like to play as Lenalee out of any DGM character. I like her fighting moves the most in the series. But if we can get any DGM character, it'd be a win.
That would be great
Brandon Adrien Why not both ? Just like Jump Ultimate Stars. Those were good times
As an artist who allows Anime/other companies to use your series for profit in exchange for exposure to your work you do have to accept some alterations so it sells (ex. offical Anime art of AUs like maids, coffee shops, beach scenes, etc.)
I think what happened is she had multiple gripes with the studio and this just happened to be the one that ticked her off at her high-point of being pissed off.
I agree too... D-gray man is NOT a yaoi.
The manga looks so much better than the animes so makes sense people don't watch it tbh
I watch the anime first and read the manga afterward and realize how epic it is than the animated series
Nobody??? Are you including me you pokemon freak...
Someone’s finally made a video on this. I’ve been waiting years for updates on this series but it’s always been so slow. I hope she’s okay.
I honestly don't know why I'm crying for this manga... This manga hits me really hard and I honestly don't know why. Please help :'(
Hang in there - we're all with you Alyssa!
And so is Allen, Kanda and Lenalee, for that matter.
Let's wish Hoshino the best for her fantastic work 😄✌🏻
:'(
Oh I'm from America lol. Rasmussen is actually Danish so you're not far off. Pretty common in Denmark if I should say. No hard feelings.
*Still weeping till this day*
AlexEnterprises1 tfw forgot about Lavi ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
This anime is so underrated, when are they going to bring it back? It was so good
The sad and tragic story of D.Gray-man 😭🤧 HOSHINO! PLZ COME BACK STRONGER AND START RELEASING MONTHLY
!!! when i saw this video pop up on my homepage i was practically attacked by a flood of anticipation and nostalgia, imo there's never enough content about hoshino/d.gray-man in general. she's always been (and will continue to be) one of my favorite artists for both her style and ability to create characters, and it's been frustrating to see her struggles go unnoticed. while i'm not the biggest fan of the current limbo the series is in, i'm grateful that it hasn't been cruelly axed in a bid to save money u.u hopefully there might be some future turnaround that will breathe some new life into the fandom and help give support for the author
much appreciation for this video, i'll be subbing to see more like it!
I really hope that Hoshino can get what she wants from her series. She's such a talented manga kai and could balance tragedy and humor so well. One of the many things that made her series so captivating. The series has been a long standing favorite of mine and has had a major impact on my own drawing style. It just inspired me to become a better storyteller and artist all around.
god this almost made me cry, I miss DGM so much ToT. beautiful and informative video.
I just hope the author is alright
D.Gray-Man is one of my favorite anime/manga since I was a kid. It makes me feel very sad to understand this situation and all I can do is hope and pray that Katsura Hoshino will be well to finish her work one day.
D.gray-man will always have a special place in my heart as the first anime and manga I've watched/read and as one of my favorites topped only by masterpieces like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but without a doubt, I would prefer to have a ending to this than FMA: BH any day of the week.
I WILL FOREVER LOVE DGM AHH
to me, it's the best manga out there; completely original and unique. i've seen so many manga that definitely got their inspiration from hoshino.
and, i'm sure she'll finish the manga guys!!! she still loves dgm, she just got an allen walker figurine recently!! :D
anyway i'm just really sad, this series has SO MUCH potential. it still does. but due to all those reasons it's not getting the recognition it deserves :(
oh well i'm just glad she's not giving up on the manga, and i really hope one day dgm will popularise once again (apparently it's still very popular in japan, just not so much in english speaking countries. it's in the top 40 best selling manga if I'm not wrong)
This is all really depressing. I love D. Grey-Man so much. ;-;
Yeah im with you😢
Am i the only one in 2019??
^ _ ^
same i love it need 3rd season
ani max are there any new updates
Only mang update
ani max of course not...
If that's how you feel then there's nothing I could do about that. It's my favorite and that's what matters to me. Have a good week! :D
I never got the chance to see it, but one day when the series is complete then maybe we will get the chance to either finish the anime or get a reboot. Until then keep supporting the series and take care! :D
Pray for Berserk, HxH and DGM my boys!
Who will pray for Vagabond 🥺
Togashi is a GOAT
Ugh.
Funimation eventually released the remaining episodes.
The anime that touched my heart sooooooooo deeply and feel in love with Allen Walker so much for many years 😍
Katsura has pretty bad wrists, so she's been slow with her updates but she never stops amazing us and keeping us hanging by a thread--especially now more than ever.
the new d-gray man hallow anime didn't felt as epic as the first series. They should have been watchign their old work and inspire themselves to be even more gritty and dark. instead of going for the generic anime vibe
Absolutely. Their original designs were so spot on that it made the redesign look really poor.
PrinceAnzo to be fair I’m pretty sure it rushed a lot of things as well
I think the color scheme was to blame, as the artwork was referenced from the most recent chapter of the series. If they kept the dark/morbid color tune, it would've at least retain its dark atmosphere in the original series.
Somehow I even feel relieved they didn't publish DVD/BD. Cancer didn't spread ;). Manga deserves much much better.
ad ds If you actually want D-Gray man to still be successful, you should be VERY sad about the DVD/BD not publishing.
Man I loved D-gray man I had heard about the hand injury but your video really informed well on what exactly was going on so thank you
Also I wanted to talk about the way the second anime portrayed the characters it was good but I just couldn't help but feel there was something weird just couldn't put my finger on it now when I think about I guess it really was in how they portrayed them so I guess she was right to be mad
Never stop walking❤️
(Also, thank you for clearing up the history of D.Gray-man for everyone!)
I hope Allen Walker is in Jump Force as a playable character
I'm really surprised to find a video about DGM, which is sad that it isn't common. I hope we at least get an proper ending, because I keep remebering about how Katekyo Hitman Reborn had a abrupt open ending. And I also hope Hoshino is okay, it would be nice to have a way to communicate with her and say how much I love her writing and drawing, I love this series so, so much, that I almost cried watching this video lmao. And it would be amazing if the whole fandom united and did something to show we are still here, that we love DGM, and maybe help Hoshino. Thanks for the video man
Meanwhile the creator of Nier Automata:
"compile all the lewd 2b art in one place and link me it"
Considering how bad shipping communities are these days, I can understand her frustration at the animation studio making, what is essentially, official artwork teasing two characters. I imagine she got a lot of comments about it on Instagram
subscribed cause you come across nicely and no one really talks about DGM too so its nice to hear this
No matter how many manga i read or anime i watch, whether it's Naruto or others, but D-GRAY will always have a special place in my heart! the amount of emotion that is present in D-Gray man and story itself really touches my heart!
Before this video i didnt know anything about this manga. Now i want to see it make a comeback
Knowledge is a curse. Face the power of hiatus.
I NEED to get back into this, thanks for reminding me! Great video as always!
クソナード
That could be. But, D.gray has quite a number of loyal fans. It depends to Shueisha to let it go if we want it to move to novel department.

Great explanation, I actually bothered to read this.
I’m seeing this in 2020 and after watching this I feel like crying
Its such a shame, I remember watching the anime which got me into the series, until I wad told about the state of the manga which makes me hesitant with catching up (its the same reason why I didnt finish HxH) I loved D. Gray-Man and so to see it in this state is saddening
Shaman Xeed thats mainly why I dont lol, which is a shame cuz it has incredible writing and a great anime adaptation
I gave up on it after I finished the manga and heard what happened to the author. I loved Tiki's character and design so much!
Yes haha! Tiki has one of the coolest character designs and personalities that match so well. Hopefully you can look back on a completed series one day then.
AlexEnterprises1 Hopefully :')
D.Gray-man manga gives me so many breakdowns, my heart has to go through so much
Thanks for putting all of this together!
I never ever saw any scribble drawings in hoshino's manga
Neither did I. I almost thought you were talking about HxH or AOT.
AlexEnterprises1 Yup World trigger and HxH are fucked. Dame, those were my favorite series too :/
Eric Nick world trigger is definitely fucked. Its anime never took off and its manga is on hiatus so I feel like its done as soon as it comes back
HxH is fine until togashi ends it.
This is the best anime i have ever watch i need the fucking episode 14 of d gray man hallow
Still love this anime after all these years ..will keep on waiting definitely huhu
Omg thank you, im crying rn for some reason :')
I followed this series since I was 12 and now i'm almost 20, this manga inspired me a lot
I just want Lavi to come back... and for Hoshino to be alright. I'd picked up bits and pieces of the trouble around the anime, but didn't see the picture until now. It's a damn shame the release got cancelled, although I understand her stance, since personally i loved the newer anime even more.
This Series was a masterpiece! I Hope they will continue this 💯💯
Thank you very much for everything you told us......am Reading D.Gray Man and i really wanted to know what happened to the anime but now thanks to you i know everything.
You're a very hardworking dude
Hope you pass more than 1000 milion Subs!
Damn, I can't imagine how Hoshino felt when she saw that piece at the studio :/. Can't blame her for reacting the way she did
D gray man wasnt my first anime but it was definitely my fav. i'll definitely wait patiently for it to return.
I’ve been watching it since 2009 and I’ll be rewatching it till the day I die
The author is so unlucky
I really hope she can finish telling her story tho.
First time I've seen this anime and oh boy. It's much better than the current shonen of today.
First off
Well made this explained so much, like I love the series and wondered why it was like this.
Second
No matter what happens I'll always love the series.😭😊
That picture changed everything, dam, and who send that pic is a criminal to us now.
So sad I really like the show and the manga
I'm actually watching the first anime and loving it so far.
There are lots of things that it questions and shows to a person.
It's really sad considering its former potential.
Fan base appreciates the Vid Greatly
I became aware of this great show when my Directv package included an Anime channel. Often they would do mini marathons of shows and D. Gray-Man became a favorite. Like all good tv worth watching they eventually removed it. This show, Wolf's Rain & Fullmetal Alchemist :Brotherhood often had me tearing up the shows were so sadbut soooooo good.
