I recently corresponded with Rich Campbell and fondly remember his bass playing and background vocals in the Dave Mason band many years ago.

What a wonderful interview. Dave and John are a great team - interesting and hilarious. Great interviewing, Chris.

In my personal opinion, Dave is one of the top five guitarists, all-time. I was first aware of him while listening to a new Traffic LP. That was a long, long, time ago. Dave was very young and had lots of hair.

We forget just how good and how big his body of work is. Spans generation's.

I worked for Lynyrd Skynyrd, and On The British Road Tour, John McAfee was playing with Clover our opening act.
He is the only pedal steel player that just burned it up wearing CLOGS. He has absolute pitch. A gifted guitarist.

Might as well go straight to the source. Dave, I always wanted to know why you were dropped from the Ringo Starr Band during rehearsals before the tour? What's your side of the story?

Not taking anything from this podcast, Steve Gaines was extremely gifted guitarist, checkout One In The Sun.
