This the most professional repair videos I have ever seen. Very detailed, super sound and communication, and no dramatic background orchestration to drown out the audio.
For me, i couldnt get the window down, taking the motor off like this allowed me to simply remove the regulator, re attach the new motor with no hassle. I was having an extremely hard time trying to get it back on. Takes like 5 minutes. Thanks for showing me this as other videos had you cut the regulator cable and replace both.
I replaced the window controller after viewing another youtube video, but the limit switch was malfunctioning. I followed the instructions at the end of this video for resetting the limit switch and it worked! Thank you! I searched this problem and you were the only person who seemed to know this procedure.😀
Thank you for this video. Just replaced the motor and switch in my wifes 2004 Armada using this video. Worked perfectly. There is one bolt that isn’t critical to remove as it will pop off but it’s behind the armrest after you pop the armrest up. Fought with that for several mins. Other than that this video is 100% spot on and I am extremely grateful you posted it. Thanks again!
Thank you for the video. My anti pinch settings needed to be fixed. I was ready to removed the door panel. You saved me from a Saturday morning project. It worked !!!! Thank you !
Thank you! Helped me greatly. Though my window was stuck in the down position with no room to work, and regulator screws were impossible to get to... But long story short, I eventually got the old motor out and new one in and now everything works again.
I’m in that situation. Stuck down and cannot lift the glass above the motor. Is the only option to try reaching in to loosen the glass from the regulator?
As a follow up, I could operate the regulator with a standard socket driver. Therefore, I added some lubricant on the reg cables, worked it in and out. Put some oil in the motor gear box plug. Reinstalled everything and it worked.
Excellent video. It walked me right through the process. I especially appreciate the tip about leaving the regulator i place. Worked great for my 2004 Titan. Thank you!
you probably dont give a shit but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost the account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Santino Alessandro i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Let me recommend that before you replace the motor remove the 3 screws and remove the armature from the motor housing and clean the armature with some fine emery cloth put the motor back together and plug it into the switch and see if it works. My windows became sluggish and the passenger side quit in the down position recently I removed the entire regulator and removed the motor cleaned the armature now it works like it did when it was brand new. Emery cloth is about $2 a sheet is about $45 if it doesn't fix it you can still replace the motor. Very good how to video it made the job a lot easier after watching it.
I'd like to see a video on this. I have a 2007 Nissan Titan and all the windows are very slow - one of them occasionally gets stuck. It would cost a lot to replace them all.
First off thank you for this great video. It helped me a ton to evaluate my issue as well as fix. I was able to determine my switch was bad. But now my driver side window is still not working. The switch is working and also have power at the connection to the window motor. And tested motor separately and it works. So now I am wondering if the locking feature or safety feature is the issue. When installing a new switch do you need to retrain the window lock?
A word of wisdom, be very gentle with your buttons. My second time replacing a switch since 2015... the plastic where the buttons clip on is just brittle junk and my buttons eventually just broke off. Also, if it's below zero, DO NOT ROLL WINDOWS DOWN. The motors get VERY upset in the bitter cold and before long your windows will not go back up. I've also replaced the driver side motor 3 times and the passenger once. At least Nissan knows their shit is eventually gonna break so they make it easy to fix. Luckily, I thought it was another bad switch last time the motor went so I had a spare switch in my glove box. Swapped it out using only my pocket knife LOL. Crisis averted it's supposed to snow tonight and I live in a very high theft area. Was planning on sleeping in here until the part arrived LOL. I'm about to order a backup to go back in my glove box. Cheap insurance that can be deployed in 5 minutes.
Watched you video and I am thankful for it. I just changed the window motor in my wife's titan and it now works. Rolling the window down and back up the motor is too hot to touch. Is this normal? Is this the track worn out or in need of lubrication of the track?
If the window is stuck down you can simply remove the bolts at the bottom of the glass. The front one will be behind the speaker and the rear one will be visible through the rear bottom hole in the door.
Thanks for video! I have a 2005 Titan, both front windows and power door locks don't work. The fob has door lock/unlock and that works. Any idea the problem? Can I put direct 12v to window motor to power it up?
My window is stuck up. I put a new regulator and it only rolled up. It is once again stuck up and it won't roll down. My window only rolls up. What can the issue be? Any help would be appreciated.
Good video! So how do I tell if it's the window motor or regulator? I'm trying to avoid taking it to the shop. I just replaced the regulator on the driver side rear window, but the front passenger side window hasn't rolled down in years. I'm also trying to avoid buying a motor and regulator.
Paul Hartman so the window motor can be tested with a volt meter or power probe, you would need a repair manual with a wiring diagram to know which wires to test, you remove the door panel and find the motor connection, remove the door panel but re-install the window switch, then while pressing the down or up button, check for voltage, if not voltage then you have a bad switch, if voltage exists and the motor does not turn, then you need a motor, also while the door panel is off, it is a good idea to carefully inspect the window regulator, honestly most of the time it is best to replace both parts as the labor is about the same and a new window motor may outlast the original window regulator, so then 1 2 or 3 years later then window regulator goes bad and you have to do that labor all over again.
Hey my window was stuck down and I’m trying to get it up got all the way to the motor part but I can’t slide the glass up it’s like stuck/locked is there a way to unlock it ?
Alan Ormand I looked and no- info in the catalog, we have a huge drawer of extra bolts and we usually find what we need there, otherwise you can get a thread gauge and figure out what size or call the dealership with your vin and they may be able to tell you the sizes in the parts department
yeah that is ok and part of the reason you have to do the rest procedure, the 5-wire window motors all have a feedback loop which can tells the position, it does however need to be reset so just follow the procedure above and you will be good to go.
Yes this is a 12 volt system so 20 Volts is good as it is just higher then 12 volts, Most all new meters have an auto-sensing function which automatically finds the setting for you, even the cheap ones, it is good however to know what you are working on and automotive passenger cars are 12 volts,

Andy Harrison awesome, thanks for watching and commenting and glad it helped!
One helluva mechanic right there. Well done! Digging into my door today to fix this.
About time I find a competent video showing how to work on my Nissan Titan thank you very much
Thanks so much for watching and also commenting, we appreciate it!!
Very good video. Thank you. I've done Gmc, Hyundai, and Nissan now. Your video saved me from replacing the regulator along with the motor. Thanks!
Thank you for the video. My anti pinch settings needed to be fixed. I was ready to removed the door panel. You saved me from a Saturday morning project. It worked !!!! Thank you !
Rick Eyman awesome!! Glad it helped, thanks for commenting as we always feel great when our video helps someone!!
Great video! You made the motor replacement simple and easy to follow, much appreciated! Thanks
Great video. You make it look to easy. Working inside doors are a knuckle and hand buster. I always come out bleeding from somewhere.
Kenny A thank you for watching nd commenting, we do appreciate it!
Thanks Saved me a lot of trouble, actually made it pretty easy to change motor.
awesome, thanks for watching and commenting!!
Thank you! Helped me greatly. Though my window was stuck in the down position with no room to work, and regulator screws were impossible to get to... But long story short, I eventually got the old motor out and new one in and now everything works again.
yeah that is a pain when that happens, you can sometimes disconnect the glass from the regulator to try and get more room.
I’m in that situation. Stuck down and cannot lift the glass above the motor. Is the only option to try reaching in to loosen the glass from the regulator?
Ok, got the window up by removing the screws, taped it up. Motor turns when disconnected from regulator and powered through switch.
As a follow up, I could operate the regulator with a standard socket driver. Therefore, I added some lubricant on the reg cables, worked it in and out. Put some oil in the motor gear box plug. Reinstalled everything and it worked.
Thanks, saved me a bunch of money and with the help from your video was simple!!!
awesome glad it helped and thanks for watching!!
awesome vid that clearly explains the how to replace a window motor.

Very good how to video it made the job a lot easier after watching it.
awesome, great job, you probably added a good amount of time to the life of that part, maybe years and only spent a little time, awesome job!!

Thanks for the super useful video.
Awesome video man 💪🏼
Thank you !!!I changed 😝👍🏻my window motor
awesome, we love when someone tackles a job like this themselves, great job!!
Thank you so very much for your video! Just saved a ton if money and my independence! Ha!!

Yes you have to perform the limit switch reset if installing a motor or switch, watch the last minute or 2 of the video and it shows how.
Very well shown and explained video, I will be doing this myself soon and I will use this video as reference..Thank you!
awesome!!, thanks for watching and commenting!!

Excellent video with instructions. What do you set your volt meter to?

Great Video!
Hi thanks for the good info. Is it possible to test the switch up top without pulling the entire door panel off?
Awesome video
keep up the good work
My window is stuck up.
I put a new regulator and it only rolled up. It is once again stuck up and it won't roll down.
My window only rolls up.
What can the issue be? Any help would be appreciated.
Es claro explicación exelentemegusta
Did you try hitting it with a rubber mallet?
It crushed that box lmfao, good video tho ill be doing my motor tomorrow
Let's say that the previous guy didn't program the window limit, can i go and program it myself even if it's been years later?

@@APDTY awesome advice thank you!
Hey my window was stuck down and I’m trying to get it up got all the way to the motor part but I can’t slide the glass up it’s like stuck/locked is there a way to unlock it ?
do you recommend greasing the exposed cables of the regulator.
No, the cables are encased in plastic, no lubrication is required
Thanks 🙏
Mine does roll down but the auto function doesn’t work? How do I fix this?
How about type thread and bolt sizes in case the kids get into your work and take them. ?
metric ? type threads
Don't let the kids get near the truck...
Alan Ormand I looked and no- info in the catalog, we have a huge drawer of extra bolts and we usually find what we need there, otherwise you can get a thread gauge and figure out what size or call the dealership with your vin and they may be able to tell you the sizes in the parts department
good job
Followed the steps for anti pinch and still didn’t work. Window goes up and down without key on for driver side window
What if the window is in the down position when the motor got fried...???
yeah that is ok and part of the reason you have to do the rest procedure, the 5-wire window motors all have a feedback loop which can tells the position, it does however need to be reset so just follow the procedure above and you will be good to go.
when you check the voltage what color goes which the red and wich with the black
Please how much for one window regulator (Armada)
what do i set my voltmeter to? DCV 20? i have a cheap harbor freight meter
Yes this is a 12 volt system so 20 Volts is good as it is just higher then 12 volts, Most all new meters have an auto-sensing function which automatically finds the setting for you, even the cheap ones, it is good however to know what you are working on and automotive passenger cars are 12 volts,
20volt is ok, that means any voltage up to 20 volts dc
nice video but was easier for me to pull track out only took 5 min
My window goes up and down the only problem is that it won't go all the way up what would be the problem
Yeah 2 better than one
👎ffwd the first control switches that's something I wanted to see.
Ya no thanks!
Pull the handle first and you can stick a screw driver through and pop the switch box out without prying on it and screwing it up...
