Excellent video and exactly what I needed to get my wife’s window up and diagnosed what the issue was. Thank you very much, more appreciated than you even know!!
love that trim tool, it works great, the test with the light would show no broken wires in the door jamb, it functioned both ways so power and ground are not an issue, that 6450 only pulls 2.5 amps?, i would have figured about 4.5, but i suck at ohms law.....lol, great demonstration on load testing a circuit, allot of people forget, it may only have .02 ohms of resistance, but can it carry the load
Yep, that trim tool is the best. The test light is a dual element 4656 halogen bulb that pulls about 2.5amp on one and 1.8amp on the other. Will do a cool build video this weekend and connect an amp clamp on both elements.
I use a 9006 bulb for mine, need to build a cover for it, and I'm going to use silicone wire, like my fluke test leads are, and going to put banana Jack's on the ends so I can use all my meter accessories with it
Have used that before, definitely. Also our body shop has factory sealer in the caulking guns if I need but most of the time the liner just sticks right back to the door nicely.
That’s a great idea I’ve seen people use them but I haven’t heard like a clear demonstration of how to use them or under what amps for what circuit and all that Jazz .. ima make me some tomorrow at my shop 😉
I’ve been working on cars full-time for 10 years now but I’m just now starting to mess with electric work and true diagnostics so videos are really helpful.. thanks man 👍
Pretty nice that you have a nice quiet shop to film in. Do they let you come in early or stay late to do these videos? Excellent video on testing the circuit and loading it!
I'm blessed with a key to the shop. I show up around 6:30am which buys me an hour or two of quiet time. Some of my videos are shot in the middle of the day but I strategically film if possible.
I'm not sure it saved me a lot of time but it (with out a doubt) told me what was wrong. I will be posting a bunch of videos using it to show the versatility.
You should be able to remove the bolts that attach the regulator to the door and then separate the motor inside the door which will then allow you to push the glass down and then remove regulator. 🤞
If accessible I slap the metal motor housing with a hammer or prybar depending on the vehicle while holding the switch. It doesn't always work but worth a try.

Excellent video! I did exactly as the video showed and it worked perfectly for my 2011 armada.
Awesome! Appreciate that.

Very nice. My coworker uses a 9004 or 9006 (can't remember) but it gets super hot. I used some old 5' silicone fluke banana plugs.
Hammer-most time effective diagnostic tool.
Yep, have fixed many electronic components with a hammer. And if that doesn't work then smash into oblivion!
Cool Test light.
spray trim adhesive for putting the moister barrier back on works great

I will be doing many videos showing the creative ways it can be used, the connections that can be made and the load it pulls.
You are welcome. I will be doing some oscilloscope testing, network testing, power probe testing, etc. Will break out my full bag of tricks. LOL
That’s awesome bro.. keep up the great work 👍
I like your video good job very useful
Glad it was helpful!
And remove a speaker and bam it’s out. Nice
Thank you amigo you save my live
Glad to help!

@@raincitywrench117 it's tough when working, I completely understand. Having a key is nice, makes it easier to film for sure
How much time did your handy-dandy test light save you on this job?

How do you remove the motor if the window does not go down to be able to loosen the bolt that attaches the window to the regulator frame?
You should be able to remove the bolts that attach the regulator to the door and then separate the motor inside the door which will then allow you to push the glass down and then remove regulator. 🤞
Hey I wanna know what did you actually tap on the motor to get it to move back up? Thanks in advance.

@@raincitywrench117 thanks for the help and for replying back 🥇
