This was super helpful seeing the different methods. I was wondering what I was doing wrong as my tumblers are coming out too lumpy and now I know it’s because I was not letting the epoxy sit for a while before applying, thank you so much for this video!
Loved this video! Beginner here, and found it very helpful. Can I still cure my tumblers if I don’t have a cup turner? (Not sure what it’s really called)
Thank you that explains why we're not been doing mine they don't come out smooth but sometimes have like eighties that don't completely filled in even though like when I am done messing with it is all smooth but as it stays on the turner it gets to where spots are not covered
Love it thank you for showing so many different ways. Normally all I see is Epoxy method but they do not go into detail about timing, or waiting vs rapid use. As always you are a gem and a huge help!!
I just want to say THANK YOU for sharing your info! I just ordered epoxy and looking at a where to get a reasonable Turner as I just want to try it. I watched your DIY to make one but I dont have the tools 😫. You're a sweet soul!
Your video is nice and I really like the way u explained everything can you please do one with a plastic cup I get that people don’t like plastic cup but someone gifted me my first turner and I want to practice❤
Thank you for this video! I’m new at this and I just trash what’s left instead of doing another coat. I was wondering why it was so smooth and thick when I just let it sit. Now I know.
This was very helpful. I am getting frustrated with my tumblers, it looks as though the epoxy has pooled all around the tumbler and in places it is 1/2 inch ridges. Could this have to do with the epoxy??
Do you add more epoxy after the glitter in the last technique or is the first coat enough once the glitter is applied? How long do you keep them on the turner?
This video has become so helpful !!! I just have a quick question .... I always make sure my cup is clean and the stickers are well placed on but when I put the expoxy it quickly starts to show bubbles and I have tired everything ! Please help !!!
I’m sure there are other pumps available, but I got mine from Alumilite. Maybe reach out to their support and see if they know when they’ll be back in stock. The pumps are not 100% needed, but it sure makes it a lot easier. Good luck on your search.
Great question! The Stainless Depot offers practice tumbler bundles. These Tumblers have slight defects making them unsuitable for regular sale but are great for practicing! thestainlessdepotcompany.com/products/practice-on-these-cups-bundle-20-units-2-each
First I want to say that I love your designs! My question is do you sand every tumbler? Second question, why use Alumilite Epoxy? I’m trying to find one that is easy to work with.
Thank you for all these tips Sandy. You make some really helpful videos. I’m curious, I’m working on a tumbler now that just will not stop dimpling. I’ve read a bit about it and my temperature is steady and I covered the tumbler to prevent dust the second time, but it’s still getting dimples. 😕 any tips on dimples??
Ah, just watched your fisheye video. So then my new question is, can I spray clear coat over this cost of epoxy before my final coat to get this stuff to stick? I’ve sanded in between epoxy coats to try to fix and it just keeps pulling away. In those areas.
I’m just starting out, this is very helpful! I’m curious why nothing shifted doing all the glitter right away with just epoxy vs how much things moved when you did the glitter right away on top of the mod podge. Does that question make sense?
Method 1 is using mod podge to adhere the fine glitter, then applying the chunky glitter with the epoxy. If you don’t let the epoxy sit and thicken, the chunky mix will run up the tumbler. Method 3 skips the mod podge and you apply both the fine and chunky directly to the epoxy on the tumbler.
I am just beginning and this has been helpful! One big question I've been having is, how to get the bubbles out? Hair dryer? Do you spread the epoxy over the cup and then go back with a hair dryer?
I use a kitchen torch that you can buy off Amazon. The hair dryer will heat up the epoxy helping remove bubbles but I’ve found using a torch to quickly pass over the epoxied tumbler gives much better results.
I’ve been watching your videos, I’m new to doing tumblers. My first one I got lots of fish eyes. I saw one of your videos you added clear coat.. I’m confused with this video are you adding the clear coat ? If you don’t have a video, can you show from starting a cup to end? Thank you. Your videos help!!
Sometimes those chunky glitters are a bit to slick and tend to wick the epoxy away. I like to use Rust-Oleum 2x ultra spray sealer before the epoxy to help it have something to hold onto. I will make sure to make a video from start to finish or I’ll talk about it in my next vlog.
I just want to know how many ml's of A & how many ml's of B epoxy are needed for tumblers? I know it needs to be the same ratio but I need to know how much of each (ie 5ml, 10ml, etc)
It depends on the size of the Tumbler. Everyone uses different amounts. 20 OZ I use 10 ml A and 10 mil B! 30 OZ I use 20mil A and 20 Mil B. You have to figure that out actually. It depends on you
Is the straight from mix coster vs 10 min coster, more flat in first case? It looks like that, when you see light reflections straight from mixing looking glass flat when in the 10 minutes waiting you can see light breaking in the not even surface, isn't it?
I just made my first tumbler. No glitter or color. For some reason the epoxy wrinkled as it was curing. And I don’t know why. I sanded it down and began again. It happened again. Is it because I didn’t let the epoxy rest?
I am so curious now, my tumbler i just made which is my first one ever. The epoxy keeps creating holes where the epoxy just leaves a circle with nothing.. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong
Thanks for your videos I really enjoy watching them. Couple of questions what do you do about bubbles and dust. I keep having issues with little specks I believe to be dust. It doesnt matter how clean my craft room is. Any help would be appreciated.
I’ve learned to not let slight imperfections bother me. What may seem like a huge deal to me, the customer never sees. I’m sure you are doing your best to keep those bubbles and particles to a minimum. Art is never perfect. In the end all your customers will see is something handmade just for them.
How do you get a smooth surface? I’m doing little 1.5 gallon trash cans with a clear coat. But my first coat is all sort of uneven right now. It’s been spinning about 1.5 hours. Any tips appreciated :)
you all probably dont give a shit but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Jermaine Brixton thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Help! My epoxy seems to have dips, digits or craters…what an I doing wrong? I am stirring, mixing and scraping the sides but nothing seems to be helping 😩. Any ideas??
how much money do you usually have in the tumblers? if i got 32 resin how many tumblers can i make. or how many out of 1 galan? wife was thinking of doing this .
I just don't understand how people can put together such great tutorials and then leave out important things like how much epoxy you're supposed to use on a first coat how much epoxy you should use on a finishing coat , How long to let it cure for each layer .everybody has different ratios and nobody ever talks about them. This is why I just watched flynn sisters and Duncan Because everybody else just skims through it like we all know what we're doing It's a beginners We don't
Thanks for your feedback Angel. This was one of my first videos I made when I started my channel. I didn’t put ratios in because it really depends on the size tumbler you’re using. And cure time also depends on what type of epoxy you use. Speed dry takes less time than regular epoxy. I should put together a more rounded epoxy video for beginners. Sorry to have disappointed you.
@@SandysOrganizedChaos thanks for replying like I said it was a great tutorial It was just a shame that without those details people can't really do it. I did go on Flynn sisters and duncans and they did discuss the ratios as did mr nolas and other big name artists who did actual epoxy beginners tutorials where they discuss ratios So I did get my answer take care and be well

Can I ask, I’ve just started my first tumbler. I had it spray painted black first. I just started making my first tumbler and i spray painted it, let it dry overnight. Then i used mod podge to do first layer of fine glitter. I sprayed it with clear spray and let it dry. Then I did my first layer of epoxy. I put it on the turner and used the lighter to try to pop any bubbles and I got too close and burnt it in a couple of places. I let it finish curing then I attempted to remove them by sanding but that’s not working. I’ve got it all sanded and thought I would attempt to put another layer of glitter on. Since it’s got a layer of epoxy can I only do the epoxy method of adding glitter or can I do the mod podge again?
This was super helpful seeing the different methods. I was wondering what I was doing wrong as my tumblers are coming out too lumpy and now I know it’s because I was not letting the epoxy sit for a while before applying, thank you so much for this video!

Hello, thank you so much for your video. I have a question… what causes holes and pull back in the resin when curing?
Do you add more epoxy after the glitter in the last technique or is the first coat enough once the glitter is applied? How long do you keep them on the turner?
Bless you Sandy.
Very helpful video. Do you apply the epoxy right over both glitters (fine and chunky)? How long do the tumblers take to cure?
Fabulous tutorial. May i ask where to buy the pump action adaptors please?

Do you coat the rim of the tumbler with epoxy & leave it or trim the epoxy off the rim?
