I really enjoy playing the holidays in The Sims 4. I find that is one thing they did right and with us being able to tweak them the way we want them makes it even better.
Definitely agree, I love making my own holidays and celebrating most of the premade holidays. (I’m not a fan of the neighborhood brawl day but that’s the only one I can think of off the top of my head.) Sims 4 also excelled with toddlers
Actually, in The Sims 2, there is a harvestfest "hidden" feature. If you place a cornucopia on a lot, a Sim with at least 7 points in cooking skill can prepare a holiday roast ! It requires the Happy Holiday stuff pack. Thanks for your videos by the way. ;)
Same with sims 1. There’s a turkey you can purchase and place on a surface and have a sim “carve” the turkey. Not sure if that came with a pack or not.
I just pulled a custard and pumpkin pie out of the oven. Perfect timing to sit and watch a video about this time of year. Happy Thanksgiving Cindy to you and Andrew. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Seriously Cindy, we're thankful for you as well. I've been in low spirits on and off for a while, but just know a lot of us appreciate what you do and how you do it. Your passion for TS2 has rubbed off on many of us! Not only is your content a goldmine for people like me who don't prefer TS4, but getting back into TS2 in such a methodical and systematic fashion has renewed my love for this classic game, and it's all thanks to you. Keep doing what you do; there's much value in doing things so authentically and lively. So, *thank you*!
the one thing i really wish, in ts4 at _least,_ is that the various wreaths could be placed on the doors. when i was growing up, we had a wreath for every season except summer, and i'd love the option in the sims. i know there are cc doors with wreaths on, but switching doors is tedious and often means switching to a new style altogether.... i just wish it was a built in option, the way the lights and bunting and such are. it would have fit really well with the other great deco options in seasons.
Yes! I always struggle on where to put the wreaths. I’m used to placing them on my door in real life as well, sometimes a window.. so I’ll usually place them there.
In Britain traditionally we have the "Harvest Festival" which was traditionally celebrated around the "Harvest Moon" which is the full moon closest to September 21st. Back in Victorian Times people would go to church and give food for the poor and the elderly and to some extent this is still the case today. The Chinese celebrate the "Mid-Autumn Festival" celebrating the same event but have their own traditions :)
I love a good harvest festival! Our Thanksgiving is similar to these, but it's become very commercial over the years (as most of our holidays have). But the core is celebrating food and family. It's probably our second-most important holiday after Yule/Christmas. :)
they did a great job with seasons in sims 4 specially with the calendar we are able to make and adjust any tradiccion in the game and i loveeee that, i love to make my own traditions that i have in my country El Salvador and adjust like it is in my game too and thats so special to me and it gives me a lot of fun.
With Supernatural and Showtime, I suggest adding a Genie to your new family -- a Genie will just magic up the food - and it's perfect quality. They can also clean up the entire house in a moment. Very handy for hosting a party!
I'm thankful for The Sims 1, 2 and 3, too! That holiday looks cool only for the food lol (We don't celebrate this in my country, so I'm no expert in the traditions)
You can have seeds packets spawning forever still. You just have to satisfy the gnomes, wait until the end of harvestfest and place them into the household inventory, you are sure to get rich lol
The holiday system is one of my fave things in TS4, probably one of the only things they got right first time… I always have my seasons set to two weeks, delete the pre made holidays and I try to mentally break up each two weeks into what months they’d be? So Dec & Jan would be days 1-10 but Feb only lasts 4 days etc. Depending on length of each month, and add in a bunch of holidays! Valentines gets moved to end of winter since its in February, I add an Easter ish holiday about the “Watcher” and holidays like Guy Fawkes Night (Bonfire Night) here in the UK, I also add a “Jesters Fool Day” which is like April Fools but filled with not only pranks but airing grievances and “fighting”/ pranking out those who annoy you! I add a Winter Advent where they decorate for winterfest and the brave donthe polar bear plunge under myth it brings good health for the long winter ahead. I try to use up every tradition there is. Honestly its probably one of the main reasons I play ts4 just because with each new generation they can experience those holidays
Ive been going through some rough times and periods of depression and I've been crying for the last 3 days but you're videos make me smile even when I feel horrible. You're a wonderful human being I love you're vids and you're energy ☀️
One of the few things TS4 does better than all previous games. I actually want to play it again, but I know I will be bored a few hours after, so I rather not install it again haha. ^^ Anyways, thank you kindly for your video, Cindy, I love to watch them! A wonderful day to everyone!
So they just updated the upper left-hand event thing in Sims 4 because they added scenarios. So you should be able to multitask events. But on yours, Harvestfest is still going, but the UI only shows dinner party. Rawr! We’ve needed this for so long and it doesn’t work. Ok, vent over. Great video!
The things they give you reminds me of the Bustbunnies who throw money at you. If I want money or anything, I buy it myself! And why are you pissing in every corner of my house when you are mad at me?! ):
I think they fixed the thing with having to call to meal for the meal to count towards the holiday, because I used to have that issue too like at least when seasons first came out, but now the festive meals for me at least get counted for the holiday even when my sims just grab a plate without being called to meal first, so for me at least it seems to have gotten fixed :'D
I actually love the gnomes. I usually have my sims try to kick all the gnomes before they move around and break everything lol. You can also send thank you cards which is really sweet
My area doesn't really celebrate thanksgiving so i go all out in the sims to compensate 😂 Thank you for the content Cindy! We're all grateful for you as well 😊
I do the same thing Cindy, remove the Holiday Gnomes to add Sports TV and Invite Guests instead 😂 Tired of gnomes breaking my things if I make them angry and leaving seeds everywhere.
Awwe Cindy thank you. No need to thank us. You’re the one that continues to make amazing content for us! You deserve every sub in the world. We love you too!❤️
I always love your videos comparing the holidays in the sims. I really like the calender system in the sims 4 for holidays. Ps Cindy your hair looks great!! 👌
I am a newer subscriber of yours but I just wanted to say I absolutely LOVE your content. I have been a long time sims 3 player and your videos have been all I’ve been watching for weeks. Please never stop making videos!! ❤️😘
YO! I never knew that the decorations box was functional and I've been playing for a few years now lmfao. Wow!!! I'm learning a lot from you Cindy :D now I know how to make my Sims' holidays better omg. EDIT: Happy Thanksgiving EVERYONE!!!
In my country we don't celebrate it, but on my Save Files I add "Gratitude Day" on Spring, because it's spring here in the southern hemisphere 😁 I only add Baking to the traditions. Also, as I've played a lot with the gnomes haha, most of the time (I'd say 85% of the time) they like getting pie. And I end up selling all the seeds and help my family getting money 😅 Lastly, about the feast, I think they can get it completed if they just grab a plate from it. It wouldn't count if they eat something else. At least that's what I've seen lately 😁🤔
I have a slight preference for how harvestfest in the sims 4 because of how much more decor and specification you do for it! I do think that harvestfest in sims 3 feels more explorative though (the festival adds a lot to that), but because harvestfest is more so a stay in family holiday, the sims 4 feels more like it got the vibe of the holiday better. For most of the other holidays, I prefer them in sims 3, especially spooky day!
I don’t use the gnomes tradition on Harvestfest - sometimes I add a gardening themed holiday in the spring like Naked Gardening Day and use them then. I don’t have the same bug with the grand meal tradition not being fulfilled if they grab their own plate, hmmm! Great video as always!
One stupid little thing I love about the Sims 4 festivals are the songs. I love having my sim family come together and sing, it sounds so funny but great at the same time. Most of the holiday songs are stuck in simlish in my head forever and have replaced the real ones, lol.
Agreeing with the others, Loooove theese comparison videos sooo much, they and the sims 3 streams are the best 😄 love from Sweden ! Also, you're sooo good at describing and you are so funny, love theese 😄
Harvest fest in the Sims 4 is a fun holiday! You can beg forgiveness of the pissed off gnomes and it might turn them into a happy gnome. I kind of love/ hate them because I do like the seed packets, but enough is enough! I am thankful for you, Cindy and I hope you have a lovely holiday!

Hi Cindy, i was kinda gone for a while bcs I’m taking care of 3 kittens and the momma, and it’s pretty exhausting, but now I’m back. I love the concept of the thanksgiving Holliday, it’s beautiful and gives a warmth on the heart, unfortunately we don’t have a thanks giving here in Brazil, but every year during the Holliday season I try my best to have more proximity with my parents. Happy thanksgiving ❤️
I discovered your channel one week ago and since then I've literally binged away half of your videos ahahha! You're an AMAZING content creator, keep up with the amazing work you are doing :) You deserve far more subscribers! Thanks for this video, I don't celebrate thanksgiving but I had fun hearing about your traditions!
By the way if the decoration box isn't available for the sim, for example I like to stuff it under the stairs or in the attic, then the game just skips the fumbling around in the box part and goes straight to the "House overview"
Happy Thanksgiving Cindy! Wishing you and your family the best! 😊 Here’s a bit of a thanksgiving fun fact: Up north in Canada, thanksgiving is in early-mid October. This year it was on October 11th this year! 😆
Love you Cindy! You're awesome and my favorite UA-camr! I'm happy to have come across you and hope to continue to view your content. Thanks for all of your hard work!
Yes the gnomes still soil your house with their seeds. Nothing like having an infestion of little men in your house who occasionally corner your Sims and leave their seeds all over the place. I'll try to find a "no gnomes mod" cause I'm seriously done 😂
I really enjoy story play and playing families for multiple generations, so I LOVE celebrating the holidays. I agree that The Sims 4 does it best. I even add several holidays in my game like Summer Break so my families can take a vacation together, I add a back to school holiday (playing games, telling stories). I add a Freedom Day (like American 4th of July), Mother's Day, Father's Day and Grandparents Day, Winterfest Eve, Earth Day (gardening and outdoor activities), Swing into spring (spring cleaning and getting fit) etc...
The one thing I wish they would've kept from the sims 3 is guests bring side dishes. Wish that was a thing in the sims 4!
Me too! I wish they would have kept the "Feast Party" as a tradition in Sims 4!
I love the comparing series. Thank you for being back making content.
Thank you for watching! 💙
I love them as well! Either I discover things I didn't know or I appreciate some games a bit more for how they are/were.

I really enjoy playing the holidays in The Sims 4. I find that is one thing they did right and with us being able to tweak them the way we want them makes it even better.
I agree! Love making my own holidays!
Yes, the whole calendar was a great a addition. I hope they add it in their next game right from the start.
Definitely agree, I love making my own holidays and celebrating most of the premade holidays. (I’m not a fan of the neighborhood brawl day but that’s the only one I can think of off the top of my head.) Sims 4 also excelled with toddlers
For the burned turkey... I ALWAYS make my sims eat the food they've burned. So they learn their lesson.
Actually, in The Sims 2, there is a harvestfest "hidden" feature. If you place a cornucopia on a lot, a Sim with at least 7 points in cooking skill can prepare a holiday roast ! It requires the Happy Holiday stuff pack.

i use the moveobjects cheat and am able to put it above the door, its still functional, too. at least in my experience!
@@taylorl4317 I agree to that but it looks like ur sims are walking in it
I always drag the gnomes into my sims inventory and sell them instantly. Voila, free money.
