I have learned from all the videos I’ve watched and the one time I did pours the budget way a year ago I put my rocks up on cups or the pizza center things and put a canvas or tile or something underneath so you’re doing two at once really. It works out great. There’s also a way to pour so it goes into a cup. Just FYI

I love this idea. Im heading north in BC Canada next week to see me dad and there is a place I like to go that has the BEST ROCKS!!! And I think Ive decided, after watching this video that Im going to try pouring over the rocks while they are sitting on a canvas. I have a whole bunch of ugly already painted canvases (that I buy at the thrift store for 25 cents or so) that I had planned on doing pours over anyway. Might be interesting. I also have been thinking of pouring a series of rocks and then glueing them onto either a canvas or glass. We'll have to see how they turn out.

I did learn some tips. My friend and I are going to pour today and I think your way is better suited for her cuz she does have breathing problems. I’m worried for when I start using resin and will wear a mask then. There have been a lot of things going around about how sick epoxy and resin can make you 🙂

A spatula is the same think, you scoop up the paint and lay it on the rock. You can also us silicone, lube, almond oil, dimethicone ect. can be used to make cells in your pour.

Today I poured (first time) rocks using the iridescent colors. I followed your directions. When it came to pouring the layered cup in ribbons back and forth, the acrylic paint came out irregular and the white took over. It was not as fluid as yours. The flash/acrylic paint is too thick to use directly from bottle in my opinion. And I paid $4.99 per color. I think I will mix these iridescent colors in separate Dixie cups with Floetrol, a little water, and a few drops of silicone. The white I’ll use sparingly. Thanks for getting me off to a great start. I wish these 2 fl. oz. flash color paint was cheaper.

Have you heard of using hairspray, hand sanitizer, hand soap and then the last two dish soap and alcohol I’m sure you have but those first ones I was shocked. It’s not very Common I just saw a video comparing them. I just thought since you said you dont like to do what everyone else is doing then maybe check into those and experiment. It seems right up your alley and I’d be interested in seeing what you come up with. Just a suggestion of course 🙂

So how do you remove them from the foil when they're dry so that the paint residue beneath doesn't come up as well and mess things up? Even after you've removed excess, it still looks like it could pose a problem.

If I poured flat I smooth the bottoms the day after I pour then set them down on clean piece of foil. If I poured on racks I take off rack with pie cutter about 30-45 minutes after pouring . It's all about preference so if you the edges drippy leave to dry fully on rack 😊 lots of tips in group Poured Positivity Rocks by Diana and Friends 😉

Color shift paints from Folk art brand are Awesome... They sell them at some Walmart stores in craft section with the 2 oz paints.. I love the purple flash, which is like purple Irradesent.. Blue, turqoiuse hues.. Its beautiful.. They also sell Emerald flash, Red Flash, Aqua flash, Purple Flash, and Orchid Flash which are all part of the Color shift family.. Purple is my favorite.. Never used the other ones in that set, but I will eventually get addicted.. Lol.. If you use them to paint will.. Use a base color coat, then add colorshift on top, as a sheen color.. The results are beautiful and worth it.. Good Luck with your projects..

Stripes, bubbles or cells. It’s really cool. Didn’t anyone every teach you to hold your tongue if you can’t be nice and positive about things? Your comment was rude.
