    Hafta keep reminding yourself that's a snapper, straight built. Brilliantly illustrates the potential in these dismissable kits. Fine, fine work, sir.

      There's potential, sure, but that doesn't make these Snap-Tite kits any less dismissable lol. These kits are essentially children's toys.

    Hi Tom,
    I have to admit, that you have done a fantastic job on the pick-up. I do like the 'Big' American trucks like this. Can't wait to see your next build.
    Cheers,
    Les (Australia)

    Looks great. I have the same truck (except a crew cab) in the same color. It’s funny that you chose to highlight the letters in the grille with gunmetal. The bumpers, grille, and fender flares actually are gunmetal on the real trucks.
    VERY nice work on the interior!

    The side orange lights I believe are industrial lights since the truck is wider than 80 in so it has to have the orange lights like what trucks have on the roof

    Amazing work. When you are hand painting things like the silver backgrounds to the Ford and Raptor logos, how do you clean up the silver paint if you make a mistake?

    just a thought,
    When you are doing certain parts and back fill the audio with the, erm, ... music, I start having questions about certain aspects. Wonder if you thought of back filling with some narrative about products you use, caveats, etc.

    I'd love to see you tackle a Revell 1/350 scale RMS Titanic. The version from the 80's - not the recent one. Even though you tend to build cars.

    For being a snap kit that turned out to be pretty darn nice looking. Good job on the trim, however here in the US the trend is to have the grill all blacked out so I would have left the logo alone.

    Is this a true 1/25 kit? I habe noticed with some other truck kits, they seem to be downsized a bit. The Raptor is a big truck on 35s, I just want to be sure it will look that way next to say, an Aoshima Hilux.

    • @TheScalemodelingChannel
      @TheScalemodelingChannel  7 років тому

      +rcairforceone the hilux is 1/24 so should be a bit bigger. Than a 1/25. But this thing is still pretty big

    Great looking build as always. Just wondering which Revell kit it was actually.? I think they have 2 snap kits available?

    • @TheScalemodelingChannel
      @TheScalemodelingChannel  9 років тому

      +fokker51 Could be that revell released 2 versions. But the only difference there would be is the color the body is molded in. They did also release one of the newest raptor aswell. In the first video of the series i have a picture of the box art ua-cam.com/video/uL5nYXyR4PA/v-deo.html

      +Paweł Sadecki (MrFunnyBoy311) Can you just print them on a plain sheet of sticker paper?

    • @TheScalemodelingChannel
      @TheScalemodelingChannel  8 років тому

      +Paweł Sadecki (MrFunnyBoy311) Its as simple as buying decal paper in printing what you want on it. If you have a laser printer thats all you need to do, when you have an inktjet youll need to clearcoat the decals.

    Any thoughts on the quality of this kit? I've been considering picking one up, but quality-control over at Revell just isn't what it used to be, so I will only be picking one up if I get a good recommendation. I'm either going to be picking up an AMT or Italeri high-way tractor kit or this one, depending on whether or not it's actually any good. Regardless, is there a custom-wheel/tire kit manufacturer that you would recommend for use on the Raptor, ideally some bead-lock rims and 37" mud tires? I've honestly always hated the wheel-tire combinations that Revell chooses for their kits. They almost invariably use the worst looking stock-wheels that were available for the model year they're trying to replicate.
    I just wish Revell would go back to the levels of quality that could be expected in the mid-90s. I still remember a 1994-vintage Revell Jurassic Park Jeep that was of way higher quality than the Revell/AMT kits I've had experience with these days. If you haven't had any experience with that particular kit, if you can find one, I would highly recommend picking one up. Sure the parts are all molded in bright yellow, but that's not really a problem. Twas easily one of the best Revell kits I've ever put together. The parts fit and level of detail was right up on par with Tamiya models of that time period, and that's not hyperbole in the slightest.

    • @TheScalemodelingChannel
      @TheScalemodelingChannel  6 років тому

      The kit is just fine for the price you pay, though this is not so much a kit, more so a kids toy to get them in to actual kits.
      There are no decals, only stickers.
      I have not found anyone selling aftermarket suv wheel and tire sets.
      Not a 100% sure, but i am pretty sure the revell jeep was actualy a reboxed Tamiya kit

    • @MFKR696
      @MFKR696 6 років тому

      Thanx for the reply. I guess I asked a bit too soon. I asked that question literally 30 seconds before you mentioned that it was a Snap-Tite kit. After establishing that, I'm certainly gonna go with an AMT high-way tractor kit. I wouldn't be surprised if that Jurassic Park Jeep was a Tamiya re-brand. It went together smooth as butter, and looked the part.
      Most of the newer Revell kits that I've put together look nothing like that Jeep kit, including the sprue markings and general spruing technique. If I compared that one to, say, the Foose F100, it looks like it's made by a completely different manufacturer, and that's probably because it is lol.
      That really sucks about the wheels and tires, though. I've honestly never seen a model from any manufacturer that has proper off-road wheels and tires on it, so you'd think that someone would have made aftermarket 1/25 mudders by now. Honestly, most of the wheel and tire combinations I see on truck models in general are disappointing, to say the least. I guess I'll have to get a 3D printer one day and just print them out, or maybe just buy some really small RC-oriented rims and tires that are about the same size, in terms of scale.
