As Dutchman of a Kenyan origin, I get sickend to here the kind of police corruption to date 😡. I've never experienced such thing in the Netherlands where I've live for the last 25 years. Siwe kubalia watoto wangu kutembelea familia yangu Kenya peke yao. When will our society as whole take integrity serious?
So it’s basically safe to say that a budget of $25 would have been enough to do everything you did in that one day! Right? Looks like you’re really enjoying yourself here in Nairobi but remember to traverse the whole country to get the complete experience 👌❤
Thank you for your patience despite the adversaries, there will always be that mad man in the force .most of our men in uniform are very professional. Great content keep going beautiful.enjoying. ❣❣❣❣
Literally. In America our police are entirely arrogant and rude and lethal. It’s a racist and corrupt institutional practice… disappointing to see it replicated in Kenyan culture apparently 😭 doesn’t have to be that way AT ALL!
Just some few minutes of this video, and I'm beginning to love her approach to whatever documentary she wanna put out here. The content is great and would love to have her cover some issues here. Well done my lovely sister 🎉
I am Korean. I'm enjoying watching your UA-cam videos. If I travel to Nairobi, can you introduce me to a beautiful travel guide like you who will keep me safe?
Great videos there Yara. Perfect accent too for a native portuguese speaker. Sorry for the experience with our police. In Maputo, I switch to local Changana whenever the police' cizentinhos harass me.
10,000 Shillings is lunch money for a month. 😡Thankfully her friend got the ripoff reduced. If she got her wish and was taken to the station, shw would not had been allowed to video or record anything
I enjoyed this, your content. I'm seriously considering living in Kenya, starting around 2030. I plan to visit sooner to see if I feel comfortable. I have to take one step at a time. Thank you for posting. You're a natural photojournalist.
Welcome! I'm an Aussie living in Kenya! It's great! U just have to be mindful of things like carrying ur passport, or at least having a copy of it, while ur out and about 😊
Enjoyed this tour. I always visit Maasai Market and the OG fish and the chips spot at corner of Jeevanjee gardens. Great job young lady 👍🏿 liked and subbed
I've heard about TKK, but never thought the cops will negatively affect tourism like that or at all. I will be looking for that fresh fruit stand. And matatus here I come....
Jambo Just saw this video, thank you, great stuff! We will be in Nairobi in late December to end of January and want to golf but don’t want to bring clubs. Thought we could just buy 2 used sets there instead or renting. Do you have any ideas or suggestions of where we should go, Thanks! Paula
Hello Paula. I’m glad you’re on your way! I’m not much of a golfer, but I think the golf courses in Nairobi are good, just ask around and you’ll find someone to point you in the right direction. Enjoy!
Yara I’m so sorry you had a negative encounter with Kenyan police. I’m hearing this over and over again from tourist visiting African countries. You were so gracious and nice and did not try to speak negatively of the police encounter. I don’t think I could be so gracious. I am sick and tried of the fact that black people can’t seem to go anywhere without encountering some kinda BS. I’m American of African descent AND this is one reason why I am unwilling to visit African countries. I already deal with racial profiling and police harassment in the US. Why would I leave and risk being targeted in African countries JUST because I’m a foreigner! This is such a turn off😕
Literally. We’re sick of it. Do they want people to visit or do they want to harass tourists who stimulate their economy even further to pay the bills of the entitled police bullies!!! People won’t buy into that at all 😭
Thank for you the words. Please don’t let it deter you from visiting African countries. For the most part, if you’re black you’ll blend in. That’s a privilege in Africa 😄
Thank for you the words. Please don’t let it deter you from visiting African countries. For the most part, if you’re black you’ll blend in. That’s a privilege in Africa 😄
I've had incidents like this with the police in countries like Mozambique...but I always refuse to pay, and they always leave me alone after a few minutes. lol
5:13 That ID thing has happened to me. I completely refused to pay the policemen and we ended up walking nearly 2 km to the "station". I had some scrumptious snacks in my bag which I enjoyed together with the hungry brethren. It was all laughter all the way after that. Of course they decided to let me go. It's annoying though, and some people have had actual bad experiences with the cops
Nairobi always serves dry foods but plenty of vegetables , everybody says so.Sauces are a language in themselves , proud of you for the jogging _ burning calories _ over _ and ' over again hu better than not I should say
I guess it’s pretty good for $20 You had really good and interesting day there. Thanks for useful information, I would like to travel there. About the police… If you had photo your documents on the phone? Because in Israel I always showed photo my passport and it’s work here.
she is a local oooh another slay queen but but she is beautiful yara mel black mwambako at the back ground or franco luambo makiadi would have rock the vlog

Hello Yara. Sorry for the bad episode with those unethical police officers. Even if you had your passport with you they'd still have looked for another thing to extort you. They weren't there to enforce the law. Anyways, have photos of your passport details in your phone or you can scan the whole thing and have PDF version of it.
Sometimes police can be annoying but take a picture of your ID or passport with your phone and youll have something to show incase something like that happens. Maybe that's even what the cop meant

Due to technology, scanned documents are being accepted in some places in Kenya but can't guarantee a police officer can accept.
