As many people are born with eyes and eyesight but see nothing and can't really see or cannot see although they have eyesight, what does that mean? To have Ears and hearing but not be able to hear?
To hear but not understand, anything or meaning/knowledge?????????? Those implants do not restore or create hearing for all deaf people or partially deaf people or people that lose hearing.
They (the coclear implant scientist), at first get insulted because the invention deemned unethical and being said almost faustian act toward animals. One of them said "if i going to hell for it, so be it.". Yes, invention often resulted from dirty and inhumane acts. So what of it?.
And soon, gene editing could restore forever (or at least without the need for implants or weird things) people with birth defects in some part of the body, as long as they don't lose it again of course.
I never thought much about what being deaf would really mean. It hit home watching the dude hear music. I don't know what life would be like without my music......❤
My thoughts turn to my Grandmother who totally lost her hearing as a child due to rheumatic fever. I wish a miracle like this had been available to her.
if I had done this job, I would have had to buy a lot of boxes of tissues for my patients and especially for me, because I keep having tears in my eyes.
Every deaf person should have "Moonlight Sonata" be their first sound heard. It is the basis for our entire musical and tonal paradigm. And...it is a perfect song.

I have a 45% loss in each ear. I believe it’s getting worse but the dr said no but I can’t hear anything without headphones so I kinda know how they feel cause each time I put my headphones on I can hear so much more and I love listening to music so that’s one thing I would miss the most
Man this is amazing, I can't wait for the day I can get my wife her implants. I hate how expensive they are for one. My wife has only one ear since birth and has never been able to afford proper hearing aids. She needs two for the one ear so the same as if you would need both. One day. I watch these videos to remind me of what she's sometimes missing out on as she doesn't show it ever. Thanks for letting me vent UA-cam
I hope your wife gets those transplants soon, if not already. I know from years of work on the patents of these devices that the costs involved in years of research and worldwide patents is huge, as is the ongoing research to improve a device so that further patents can be taken out to extend the life of the patents. Added to all that is the cost to a patient for the device and the medical service providers. 🙏 that she hears as soon as possible.
I can't understand how they noticed after years of not being able to hear, then the first time I heard the music being sung. they will think that it turns out that the human voice when combined with the sound of an instrument (music) will produce a beautiful sound and purpose.. oh so this is what they mean by song..
Science is such a blessing. It’s gifted so many with so much. We are very lucky to be living in a time when, through science, we can restore, not only hearing but sight, to so many. We have become so spoiled that we disavow the science, research, and technology that allows so many blessings to so many!
Not only today or now the World existed long before Covid 19/Omicom. People throughout Centuries and decades before have lived and died. Advancement happens, people learn or not, that hearing device and medical advance is a result of people, life experiences, people/learning. History is Vast. Congratulations, now i recommend them to hear these beautiful songs, for me these are the most beautiful songs i know: Hushabye - The beach boys Angeline is always friday - The Seekers Early Morning Rain - Peter, Paul, And Mary Red Rubber Ball - The Seekers
Hello internet, can you explain to me how the guy in the metal shirt was able to sing the words to the song and even talk? Do some deaf people know how to talk having never heard before??? If so how? Also how was he able to understand people without reading their lips???
Not everyone’s go to music choice is Beethoven...plus I think he’s been able to hear earlier in life since he’s able to talk and sing along to the song so the song has nostalgia attached to it.
