Hi Professor Revell, do potatoes or ridge gourd have more catalase? Which fruit or vegetable has the most catalase? What is the best way to extract and preserve catalase?
Good questions. Not sure. Potatoes are the classic example always used. Potatoes are actually a type of modified STEM (not a root). I'd start by investigating the experiment with root structures like carrots or yams. Not sure how one would preserve catalase. You could try freezing a potato for few days and then see if the experiment still works. Maybe I'll try that and upload it here.
Good evening everyone please suggest me everyone how pratical i can conduct form fresh potato tuber.. Like enzymatic activities and which nutrients are present in fresh potato. Like that.. Suggest me .. Those people are conducting all ready please suggest me
Sorry about that. I use this video (and made this video) as a review for students; so we do the experiment together in class and then they can use this video as a review after they have done the experiment.
Updated version of this video can be found here (ua-cam.com/video/hoqC1w6bUx8/v-deo.html) which may answer more of your questions:)
Thank you Professor Revell, this was highly valuable information.
You're a goober
@@invisafish97 Thank you Professor Revell, this was highly valuable information.
The text book was filled with way too many big words and numbers and didn’t understand. Thanks for this, now I understand it more.
would you mind sharing what text book this experiment was mentioned in?
This is a classic experiment we have used for years and years. We use our recipe from our own book we wrote "Life All Around Us" (Bio 1 lab manual)
You just saved my grade on my lab report. Thank you!
Excellent!
This is awesome. Simple. Detailed. Structured
Thank you, you saved my bio grades.
I really needed this, thank you
Had an experiment to do and needed help, thanks
hi professor i wanted to ask what is the independent and dependent variable in this experiment
I wanted to do this but i am using cup. I was just wondering how many mi-liter of hydrogen peroxide you used in the video?
which concertation of peroxide is best for this?
Dear professor could you help me to know the activity using colorimetric method and caluculation
can someone please tell me the independant variable, dependant variable and constant of the investigation is?
What is the introduction of this expirment

what is the objective of this lab?
To demonstrate factors affecting enzyme activity
What amount of hydrogen peroxide did u use??
3%
I love this thank u so much sir!!! You're the best!!!
I know I'm kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good site to stream new series online ?
@Leo Jaxxon flixportal :P
@Elijah Angelo thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I appreciate it!
@Leo Jaxxon you are welcome :D
You're very welcome!
Does it have to be a type of specefic potato?
Greetings Biology Learners! - Please subscribe to help my channel if you like this content:)
thank you, really helpful video
Very informative ☺️
What is in tubes 1 and 3
very clear and informative
Thanks!!
very informative
Glad you think so!
What could this experiment be improved?
you tell me.
@@ProfessorRevell can u tell us ?? Cuz im not shur i und !!
So which potato sample decomposes the most hydrogen?
See my comment above
Sir can we use this formula
I don't see a formula
What is the name of engyme?
Catalase
Would it work with Amylase?
And how did you make the enzyme solution?
WHY DID YOU PUT WATER
Good question. Mainly so that all the tubes started at the same volume.

Sorry bro good video but spelt knife wrong
Does the teacher reads comments
I do. Sample with the chopped up potato releases the most oxygen (product) in the same time period.
Explain the induced fit model of enzyme action, and how this differs from the "Lock & Key" model. Help me with this question sir
good
What is the amount of hydrogen peroxide in each tube?
3%
Chew your food kids
I like the video, but my teacher wants us to watch this. So it's a dislike for me. Sorry...
