I find Hasbro's handling of the brand... offensive. They spoke so highly when they acquired it, but now they make it sound like Power Rangers failed THEM 'cause it's just a weak, niche brand. They take no responsibility for the myriad ways they've mistreated the theme. If the QC alone was on par with Transformers or maybe Star Wars, it may've performed better. I backed out of supporting ZAP soley because every release was broken by design in some way (as documented by you). Hopefully playmates puts out something sturdier meant to be played with and not just... looked at.
(This video addresses it better than I did nvm.) Part of the problem is that the previous ceo at bare minimum respected the potential of these franchises and specifically acquired power rangers because he had a vision for where it should go but given how there's a proce hike yearly on transformers size classes and action figures it really seems like the current ceo is exclusively a numbers guy and doesn't care about the rest. So hasbro is tanking financially as a result.
Here is my prediction with Playmates. We will have two lines. One is the vintage line like what they are currently doing with TMNT and those figures and roleplay toys. That line I feel will be one to watch because they should be able to manage those releases easily enough. The second would be their version of an adult collectors line which could include just about anything at this rate. That's the one I'd tread cautiously on. They really should do a deal with Rubies for the roleplay toys of MMPR similar to what they did with Ghostbusters because that's been doing brilliantly.
@@anime-mun Since you bring this up, I think Jada Toys should get the rights to make collector action figures. Their Street Fighter figures have been well received and their articulation and accessory count puts anything Hasbro's made over that last couple of years to shame.
the late ceo that aqcuired pr worked so hard to sell the pr brand and toys and he succeed. too bad after he passed away, his successor seems doesnt really interested in pr brand just like disney when handling the brand
When Bandai was directly involved back in the 1990's "Hey let's bring over the stuff we've already made in Japan, and cut our the middle man for distribution in NA". Hasbro "WE DON'T NEED TO PARTNER WITH THE COMPANY THAT MADE THE OG FOOTAGE BACK THEN OR THEIR MERCH! WE'LL DO IT LIVE!" 10 tumbles down the stairs later.
The days before Dino Thunder for both of the zords and Morphers but starting with Dino Thunder for Morphers and Overdrive for the zords, we have started using our own molds and it kind of just went up and down from there

@shanthegamer21 nah, not dub. Subbing sure, but the dubbing industry (especially anime) is subpar to trash. Toei should try airing sentai on Netflix and make the merchandise also more accessible to actual store fronts.
Having watched TJ’s new video on Hasbro and PR, it makes sense. Hasbro never wanted PR but because someone saw value in it and brought it, they were burdened with an unwanted child.
Really appreciate you putting all of this together to calmly and logically explain all of the issues with Hasbro. This kind of stuff, sometimes deservedly, just gets dismissed as "nerds crying" but with Hasbro trying to market so much to adult fans, they should have acted like adults when doing all of it.
Meanwhile at Toei's side of things. Super Sentai is in a really good state. Helps that Toei focuses on multiple series as seen by the Kyoryugers return in King Ohger and Go-on Red in Boonboomger. Bandai of Japan also splits the toy lines into distinct areas. For the Kids they still have the DX Mechas and RP items whilst the adult side of things CSM, Firgure arts, Figure rise and Mini gumpler. The Promotion is also far better done with every series appearing in TV magazines, having snacks and a quite a lot of promotional push through the sponsors. Even with it's rocky end in the Heisei era with Ryusoulger SS has really powered throughout the current Reiwa era with new ideas and concepts whilst still retaining connections with the older series.
Even the series themselves are in really good standing too ever since Kirameiger. Zenkaiger is a whacky but fun tribute to Sentai's history, Donbrothers broke the mold so hard that it's good, King-Ohger is just epic and Boonboomger is shaping up to be well too.
ive seen some 80s sentai like Liveman and Bioman and some of the 90s, jetman and zyuranger. i think thats it. then i watched these crossover movies from like 2012 or so and it was the most hyperactive, cracked out thing i have ever seen in my life. we were dying laughing watching that. i wouldnt say it was good though. now im curious to see what its like now.
Comparitivly, super sentai has always done well. It is the only series among its peers or kamen rider and ultraman which has never stopped airing, for nearly half a century there has never been a year without a sentai
@@nakobass28Knowing casuals and non-PR fans, they don't care about any Megazords past the Dinozords from Season 1. I was really hoping for Hasbro to move on to the Thunder Zords and Titanus in the Lightning Collection/ZAP line next but it's going to be unlikely since I still have my old 2015 Legacy Tigerzord but never managed to get that $200+ Thunder Megazord.
These were my PR hopes Hasbro never gave me(Hopefully Playmates can follow up?): Transforming Megazords from other seasons, Black and Yellow Ranger Helmets, Power Axe and Power Bow roleplay items, Villains from other seasons, DVD and Blu-Ray releases of Beast Morphers, Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury, Morphers from other seasons, Good quality control on their figures.
@@zenonx1 yeah I liked Ryan because he was a great story writer but some things he did makes me angry like his downplaying of Tommy and Zack and for Trini and Jason. You could have built Trini and Jason up without knocking down Zack and Tommy.
The Hasbro Era genuinely perplexes me: they gave us 3 damn good adaptations back-to-back after the dark ages that was the Neo-Saban Era, ushering the way to a potential new golden age for the franchise, only to discard it 5 years in and treat it like a lesser IP.
CEO change, one saw potential in the brand and to a broader extent the toy industry, but the other doesn't have a clue about toys, he's a former Microsoft employee who wants to turn Hasbro into a video game company.
@@ondururagittandeska2004 Yeah I agree, I don't think Beast Morphers was a great adaptation. It was an ok adaptation. Hasbro tv era is probably the most divisive era in the franchise history. One side think it's the best thing ever and the other side think it's bad. I fall in the middle that think it was meh.
Uh, good adaptations? Beast Morphers was definitely a step up after Ninja Steel but the overall series was pretty mid. It had some good moments and the cast is easily my favorite Ranger cast to date. Dino Fury season 1 was below average. Season 2 didn’t get good until the final 3 or 4 episodes. Ya know, when the plot actually started getting interesting. And, let’s not discuss Cosmic Fury.
Very well said. I agree with nearly every point. It feels like Brian Goldner was the one who had a plan for the series but his death left those plans unrealized and nobody else at Hasbro knew what to do with it or even had an interest in furthering it. The fact nearly all the presenters on Hasbro Pulse streams were newcomers to the series was a big red flag. As sad as it is, I hope this break allows everyone to just step back and realize what they want from this series. Feels like the last decade of its life has been a tug of war between the IP trying to meet a bottom line and trying to please too many demos at once.
I mentioned this to Bruno from MMPRToys, and he said the following: I think it was my last video with Tony when I asked him fan questions, one of which was "when will you make non-MMPR things?" His response was "when fans start buying other things." This tells me Hasbro is blaming fans for not supporting the other seasons. Which is only half true. There are fans who support the other seasons, but the majority only care about Mighty Morphin. Which is sad because I like the other seasons, but there's barely any toys from the other seasons. So I can't really say the fans are completely at fault here? Hasbro also mishandled the brand.
yeah I didn't grow up with Mighty Morphin. While I would like to buy merch for the seasons I love, literally the only time I've seen other merch is at Disney Land back when Mystic Force was airing on Disney channel.
@@kori228 Yeah, not everyone grew up with Mighty Morphin. And even though it was my gateway to Power Rangers, and holds a special place in my heart, my number 1 favorite season is Time Force. My other favorites(aside from Mighty Morphin) include Dino Thunder, Wild Force, Ninja Storm, RPM, In Space, Lightspeed Rescue, Dino Fury, and even S.P.D. Plus I would have loved some updated transforming Megazords from the other seasons. Which sadly we only got one non-Mighty Morphin transforming Megazord. That being ZAP Astro Megazord from In Space. And if I try hunting down the older Megazord releases, they'll be worth an arm and a let by today's prices.
I think it's worth noting that for the Lightning and ZAP releases, the people who designed the toys obviously cared about the product, and really tried to give fans something different and impactful. Getting an astro megazord at all has been a decades old wish by many collectors, where we kind of accepted they would only focus on the MMPR seasons. It must suck tremendously to have completed designs for these toys, then see them marred by quality control and discontinued altogether almost a year later.
Honestly at this point I'm somewhat shocked the Power Rangers brand hasn't just been retired outside of occasional toys and merchandise given they don't seem to care to put the effort in, yet they also don't want to do the easier and cheaper act of dubbing Sentai and Rider so I'm just baffled at what their plan even is.
At this point the alternative is also going completely original. We've seen original suits and mecha in the comics and while I know producing comics uses a lot less resources than tv, I still think it'd be an interesting direction
I think Hasbro are a sinking ship that will eventually get stripped of its brands and become an arm of Disney, producing Disney product and Marvel and Star Wars toys. I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all that Hasbro have looked to Playmates for new Power Ranger toys. The largest toy line last year was Playmates TMNT Mutant Mayhem line. The relaunch of TMNT with Mutant Mayhem was a huge success and I think it’s safe to say Hasbro are looking at that franchise as a template to apply to Power Rangers. I think fans of Power Rangers must understand that it is a franchise for kids, and while that doesn’t mean adults can’t enjoy it just as much, like TMNT, the next Power Rangers show or movie is going to be made for a younger generation. The likelihood is that the toys Playmates puts out will be very much in the same style, scale and quality as their TMNT Mutant Mayhem toys, which were very clearly toys for kids, which for Power Rangers is fantastic news. Power Rangers, like TMNT and MOTU, is fundamentally a kids brand - while all three have enjoyed success in the collectors market, the bread and butter for each franchise has been quality toys for kids (that adults collect). Where things have gone wrong for Power Rangers is that Hasbro across all of their brands have stopped making quality toys for kids, focusing more on expensive toys for adults - unlike Bandai, Hasbro failed to invest in a proper toy line, instead focusing on smaller runs of collector toys that are too expensive for parents to buy for their kids, and too fragile for kids to play with anyway. If you look at Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Origins toy line, if you look at Playmates TMNT Mutant Mayhem toy line, two comparable brands to Power Rangers, they’ve worked and sustained their popularity because they continue a long legacy of toys designed to be played with first and foremost - updated with modern articulation and detailing, but essentially in the same scale and style as the toys from the 80s and 90s. It’s a happy coincidence that the once kids in the 80s and 90s are now collectors, collecting these new toys either for nostalgic reasons or because they’ve never stopped collecting - but first and foremost, those brands have not compromised on what they are fundamentally- kids brands. Power Rangers deserves to have an extensive toy line reinstated. Playmates will bring that energy back to Power Rangers toys and hopefully, like Paramount have done with TMNT, Power Rangers will see a solid return as a new show or movie that energies the brand even further as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
They aren't a sinking ship but clearly the old CEO wanted Hasbro to be more like Disney with a toy production in house. While the new CEO wants to just be a toy company and is cutting a lot of corners.
Honestly, if Playmates can give us transforming megazords, on par with their Voltron figure shown in Bruno's MMPRToys video, with good Quality control, and don't hike up the prices, I'll be happy. Also, don't hyper focus on MMPR, or blame the fans for not supporting the other seasons, as an excuse to milk MMPR stuff. Bandai never gave us Legacy Tor the Shuttlezord or Shogun Megazord, and Hasbro never gave us more than 2 Cosmic Fury toys. Don't make the same mistake Playmates. PLEASE!!!! I'M BEGGING YOU as a die-hard Power Rangers fan!
I find how Hasbro handled the entire brand as disrespectful to 30+ years of franchise mystique. Hasbro made it even more known that they never wanted this series. It became more clear that the late CEO is the one that really wanted this series. The 30th anniversary was the ultimate slap in the face and doesn't get talked about enough. The fact they celebrated Star Wars and GI Joe BOTH times in May and august was a huge smack to the fan base. They fumbled every single thing this franchise had going for it. The lightning collection(inconsistent but when it was on point it was on point), the show(a lot of people loved Hasbro era but I thought it was just notch better than neo Saban), the ZAP project(HOW DO YOU FUMBLE THIS), even the toddler toys were meh(bricks, nice bricks). The problem with those outsourced projects is 1. Price 2. The over abundance of MMPR That one Dino Zord recreation was almost $500. That was insane. While the Zord looks beautiful it's incredibly irresponsible to drop almost a car payment on a collectable that many wasn't even sure if it's quality was good. I'm hoping Bandai just buys the toy franchise back and some other company that love the series get the live action show. They don't even need to reboot. Why do Hasbro think they need to fix something that's not broken? All they have to do is just adapt a new super Sentai series and PROMOTE IT. Holy shit that's always the issue NONE of these companies promote power rangers. Just promote the damn series and don't just try to target kids. It's on Netflix, so go the super sentai route and make it kid friendly while still touching on young adult themes. They can even go one step further and do like Disney, make it set in their own universe but know that other Power Rangers are around. Take it another step and when a cross over happen, just do a cross over with the Sentai footage characters. We don't need a grandiose plot. Now that JDF has passed away, we don't need another MMPR reboot or oversaturate with it. Save that for 5 and 0 anniversaries and make that separate from the main show. It doesn't need to be some cinematic universe.
Cosmic Fury was the one thing that pissed me off the most. What an absolute waste of a series. THIS is how you celebrate a 30 year legacy? The show sucked ass and aside from a like a few, somewhat cool moments, it was the most disappointing anniversary season we’ve seen to date. Yeah Super Megaforce is still top tier garbage too. But I expected better from Hasbro and Netflix. Disney took better care of this franchise for Pete’s sake. Overdrive was a better anniversary season than this.
@@JcgLounge I couldn't agree more. I also thought Cosmic Fury was underwhelming and then to find out that Cosmic Fury was originally 20 episodes but was shorted to 7 episodes was a slap in the face. Hasbro did this series worst than anyone and I can't believe it's not more fans upset. Instead fans are trying to find solce into believing Playmate will do better. Playmate will either make toys on par with Voltron OR they'll make toys on par with the Godzilla toys they're currently making that look awful. The main issue that I've notice while being a fan of this franchise for 30 years is NOBODY PROMOTES OR ADVERTISE THE SERIES PROPERLY. Like how hard would it be to buy some advertisement spots on UA-cam, TV, and social media?!?!? They acting like they have to spend 30 million for a super bowl ad. I can't even think of a time I seen a single advertisement for Beast Morphers or Dino Fury. The first advertisement I saw was for the Power Rangers once and always special and it was once for Entertainment Weekly celebrating the 30 year anniversary premier in August 2023. AT LEAST Saban and Disney would advertise the TV show (Disney went HARD for SPD and Mystic Force back in the day. Saban had Power Rangers Samurai EVERYWHERE ironically those series performed well because why? IT WAS ADVERTISED) and Saban had some dope toy advertisements back in 90s and early 00s
It's a great time to be a Sentai fan now that PR is dead and I've done my part to encourage others to abandon this sinking ship of a franchise and what's great is you have 48 shows to watch and a lot of movies too!
@@buchiklop110yea but it’s probably just nice a side thing for them to get licensing money from. it’s not like they would go out of there way to help PR. they didn’t try to do anything when disney was trying to end it.
The problem with the whole "don't only have enough budget for the last few minutes" is like...against the identity and atmosphere of Rangers and Sentai. The fact they want to step away from the Sentai as much as they do to be "more original" yet still lean on it for their merch has only hurt them except to their most delusional of shills.
Also maybe if they made more than just Mighty Morphin stuff for aged collectors they'd get more out of it. I would love to buy a buttload of Zeo figures. Furthermore JDF being dead is not a realistic reason to reboot the franchise because there's plenty of seasons without Tommy to show he wasn't the only cornerstone keeping the brand afloat, the REAL reason to reboot the series is because they're running up against when SPD is supposed to take place.
Honestly, I feel fans aren't the only ones to blame in this situation. Yes, PR wasn't selling well, but at the same time, Hasbro wasn't making a lot smart choices. Like over charging for a Cosmic Fury Megazord with barely any articulation, and an underwhelming Cosmic Fury morpher isn't good. Nor is forcing fans to re-buy figures they already have, just to get the one they don't have.(I'm looking at you Rita and Zedd 2-pack)
Bandai doesn't exist as it used to. Bandai America is pretty much a distributor of Japanese toys. Most of their toys are built with Tamashii Nations in mind. So, effectively they produce budget Figuarts and Robot Damashii now.
@@Atlanticocean.chihuahua Bandai America does technically exist (It's where we're getting stuff like Dragon Stars and Ultimate Legends figures from), but they've been massively downsized from when they were focused on PR. If Bandai got the license again they'd have less output than Hasbro did.
I didn't say it didn't exist anymore. I said that it doesn't exist in the same state that once did. They're effectively Bluefin Tamashii now. They bought it out, restructured it, and now they primarily focus on distributing imported goods. They still manufacture toys i.e. Dragon Stars, Anime Heroes, and Gundam universe. But these are all budgeted versions of items they distributed already. The Bandai America we knew isn't the same, nor will they ever do Power Rangers again. It wasn't profitable for them, just like with Hasbro.
The Blu-ray format never really caught on like DVD. a staggering amount of people still think that you cannot play DVDs on a Blu-ray player. basically it didn't catch just because consumers arent smart enough to look on the front of the box and see the DVD logo.
Kinda crazy how so many people thought the "Hasbro Era" would be a new beginning for the show only for him to be 'killed' after one season and a half. And the same people are out there saying how "they gonna come back bigger and better, with a original idea focusing on a older audience" and every person on the planet know damn well its gonna be another MMPR reboot to ride on the nostalgia but probably using a female lead to attract a newer fanbase.
Yeah having a female lead is likely but it won't attract a new audience, as with all of these insert woke for a new audience brands they just end up turning off their old audience, usually by literally saying this isn't for you now old audience, we want us some gays please 😂
This is partially why I was skeptical about Hasbro acquiring Power Rangers, and didn't get on the hype train like everyone else. Hell! some transforming megazords I wanted include Super Train Megazord from Lightspeed Rescue, Q-Rex Megazord from Time Force, Thundersaurus Megazord from Dino Thunder, and some villains like Zeltrax from Dino Thunder, Diabolico from Lightspeed Rescue, and even Venjix from RPM! Yet Hasbro never released those toys!
"and every person on the planet know damn well its gonna be another MMPR reboot to ride on the nostalgia but probably using a female lead to attract a newer fanbase" They DON'T know that actually.
@@dylansharp8471 It's sad that only 1% of people actually care about the other seasons, while the majority are MMPR purists. And I'm in the 1% of people.
This reminds me so much of when Sony discontinued support for the Vita after they did a terrible job at making games for it or even getting third-parties to develop for it.
So far, Hasbro just became like WB. WB kept milking Batman, while on Hasbro side, Hasbro undeniably kept milking MMPR. This is why both DC and PR are in a worse state right now and both are sadly in reboots. Either both of their CEOs needs to be fired or stepped down. Hasbro doesn’t own the brand anymore and all criticisms and issues shows this. Toei NEEDS to get the rights back. Look what you’ve done Haim Saban.
When I met JDF before he passed he spoke about Hasbro in a way that seemed pretty negative. It wasn’t like straight up bashing them or name calling but he strongly implied he wasn’t a fan of how they were handling the IP. As a fan who had been away for many years I didn’t quite know what he meant at the time. However within the past couple of years I’ve come to see each of your points ring true and time and time again have found myself going “oh dang, that’s what Tommy was talking about.” It’s so weird seeing Hasbro do things like complaining that Power Rangers just doesn’t sell but like you said the Master Morpher sold out in 5 minutes. WHY was this short printed? Even when I contacted Hasbro they said it was a One-And-Done Limited run. Why? The item was the most single highest requested toy for the franchise which honored the ranger whom had been the face of the franchise for nearly 30 years and wore the most costumes and had been in the most seasons. The toy literally printed them money and they decided to pass on making more of them? Brick and mortar stores like GameStop, Walmart, and Target never even got any yet they can stock figures nobody asked for like Cobrai Kai crossovers but they called it quits on the Master Morpher during the 30th Anniversary year, around the time of the Once and Always Special, and before the holidays? A toy company, that doesn’t want to make toys, what the hell? Afterwards, they called it quits on the Lightning Collection entirely and are now pimping out Power Rangers to other Toy companies, how wild is that? Like, if you have no desire to make the toys, to sell DVDs of the show, to further use the Sentai, or to help the IP grow why not just sell it then? Sell it to someone who actually wants it. It’s such a strange time to be a fan seeing stores not carrying Power Rangers toys or merch when it had been a consistent find for 30 years. Getting back into collecting only to find Hasbro buying up Power Rangers when they did sorta killed the Legacy Collection then they themselves killed their Lightning Collection so you’re stuck with 2 lines forever left unfinished. Trying to get ahold of seasons after 17 on DVD to finish the show has been a nightmare. The lack of recent video games and merch just makes it feel like Power Rangers are missing in action. It almost seems like they bought the IP just to slowly kill it or dismantle it piece by piece as your video shows. Also hearing JDF talk about Hasbro and “broken promises” hits harder now as a fan seeing them promise to deliver on multiple fronts only to basically bury it. Looking back it’s like he was predicting the future of the franchise. Makes me think if and when it comes back it likely won’t ever be the same and likely won’t ever fully recover because they are going to stray too far from the tried and true formula which put people onto the show in the first place.
When NA start making their own Ranger Keys instead of using Japanese products, that's already a warning sign of downfall. Hasbro just chose to continue that awful trend.
Hasbro really fumbled LC, The QC issues, the milking of MMPR seriously MMPR has 4 different versions metallic, ninja, remastered and the original releases. Crossover figures nobody really wanted the Cobra Kai figures went into clearance pretty quick and who was asking for the TMNT crossover figures. The Boom Studios comics spliting it into Mighty Morphin and Power Rangers is confusing. I'm just burnt out personally and really don't want too restart again.
The TMNT figures definitely desirable given they appeared in the comics. Cobra Kai though did not. There isn't really a lot of crossover between those IPs besides martial arts. As opposed to TMNT and PR which both have a team of martial arts fighting superheroes that were made to sell toys to kids. Plus both brands have a history of crossing over before back with In Space.
@@FireFury190 Cobra Kai would have made sense if well PR honestly showed up in Cobra Kai. Which given the setup. Cobra Kai actually would be a good starting point for PR in a way. But other then that, I don't see the cross over. At least Street Fighter has the Streetfighter bit for people not familiar with the PR material.
I don’t think the metallic and ninja ranger power figures should included in “Milking MMPR” as they were actually figures PR fans would buy. Remastered figures and Cobra Kai Figures were definitely cash grabs. The Remaster figures as a concept are good but what ruined them is the fact that all the things they fixed should have been on the original ones to begin with plus the fact the Shield didn’t come with green was just dumb plus Green didn’t even have the correct holster at all. Cobra Kai figures were not needed at all. Even that cell shaded pink was dumb. As for the Turtles, they are cool in concept but definitely shouldn’t have been mandatory releases.
I think it's ironic that for a company like Hasbro, who makes tons of transforming toys with the Transformers brand, that they can't make decent transforming toys for another brand.
I’m glad I didn’t start investing in Hasbro’s line back in 2019. I was still full on into Bandai’s legacy line, and when the buyout happened, I had a feeling this was gonna happen.
When you mentioned the Nickelodeon thing, you left out the fact that they sometimes actually use footage from fansubs in their trailers. I still remember when they showed the trailer for Super Mega Force, and when they showed the Megazord, you saw subs from TV-Nihon at the bottom of the screen. There is also a chance that Hasbro may do what Cartoon Network did with shows like Magus XLR and Symbionic Titan, where they sit on it, and turn it over to the US Government as a right off. WB has done it with a few movies as well.
The thing that angers me about all of this is that, during the Neo-Saban era, we were finally getting Sentai on DVD. They were cooking until Hasbro bought Power Rangers, then those DVDs stopped. Hasbro brought them back briefly in 2022-2023, but then they stopped again. I really wanted Bioman, Maskman, Liveman and Gokaiger on DVD.
About older seasons on Netflix being brought to UA-cam. In Brazil the PR UA-cam channel only has MMPR through In Space, while we had every season in Netflix.
Hasbro is so neck deep in debt they don’t have the resources or interest in Power Rangers. I feel like the main reason why they’ve bought it up is so they can control and eventually eliminate a rival toy brand. They’re partners with Takara, who is a rival of Bandai. There’s no way they would port anything from Bandai when it comes to Sentai / Power Rangers toys. That leaves them doing minimal effort on product design. And since their products are limited, there’s really no point in putting money in the show. Why bother investing in 30 minute toy commercials when you don’t have the toys to sell. So they’re farming it out to other toy companies to collect royalty fees while still have control and limit the direction of the franchise. I highly doubt playmate will be allowed to take the franchise in any new directions. It’d just be a handful of age 3+ figures, vehicles, playsets, and simple zord figures that don’t combine. All revolving around the MMPR era.
@@ondururagittandeska2004 i understand the charm of tokusatsu shows because i'm an adult that grew on these things and i think the porno-tier acting is funny, but this is a franchise for children that, nowadays, can easily go watch marvel shows on disney+ with a-listers and actually decent special effects. you can't keep these shows like this and not expect this franchise to sink, this isn't 2007
This is why sentai is better. Power rangers are just teen dramas with fight scenes. Sentai is silly fun and each season just feels different in a good way.
Except King-Ohger, the third in a trilogy of Super Sentai series that were more like Kamen Rider. Except this one didn't have Shirakura working on it, which does not make any sense to me...
Such good timing that the algorithm showed this to me. The Netflix deal is dead. Hasbro claims they're searching for a new partner but that's doubtful.
The whole Hasbro buy was very short sighted. I think they figured they could do PR without Super Sentai (as well as Toei and Bandai) and this whole endeavor backed them into a corner. I think they are floundering hard on this one. I can see them selling off the property once they make back their initial investment. I wouldn't be surprised if Haim Saban buys it back for a song like he did with Disney. There is also the fact that Toei is pushing to get their stuff out into international markets outside Asia in the next decade. For me, I'd like to see Toei get full control of the brand without any American partners. They could then produce both Sentai and PR and release the full range of products internationally.
I just hope there will a time where there will updates on older season megazords toy. Like an improved Mega Voyager from power rangers in space. Like better plastic quality and fixing the flaw with Mega V1. Or improving part where the section of mega v3 connection to mega v1. Like adding releasing clips to make it easier and less risky to disconnect.
I disagree about avoiding animating power rangers. Although i think it would work best as either supplementary (in a what if/twilight zone anthology style where it kind of dips into hypothetical scenarios for older seasons or even just a "where are they after their story is over" way) or adapting stuff like the comics where it would just be cool to see the art style and updated timeline in motion.
@@kiwiangeldust6912 how do you propose to do that in the scenarios I described though? So many of the actors are dead, uninterested in coming back, or felons who can't leave the country.
@@kiwiangeldust6912 especially in adapting the comics where you can't have the actors reprise their roles anyway and most of the zord combinations would either be too expensive to replicate as suits or would look bad in cgi
Magic: The Gathering player here. Look at what they've done to our game from 2017-current. From the lore to overall card design, it's been a rapid descent to de-valuing the entire game in the pursuit of money. There isn't a care for product fatigue or consumer faith. Just keep pumping out product and expect the masses to buy everything. Until Hasbro is dead, expect your favorite brand to get milked to death and/or shelved.
Man i really miss time when disney still own power rangers. Despite disney hate PR,i think disney treat PR as franchise way better than hasbro because: 1)disney made better PR seasons than hasbro(ninja storm, dino thunder,SPD,jungle fury,& RPM). 2)disney only made 2 bad PR season(mystic force & operation overdrive). these 2 PR season are still better than any hasbro's PR season. 3)disney put more effort when making PR seasons. just look at RPM,RPM is PR seasons with most original footage & RPM only use sentai footage in zord battle. hasbro is so cheap & lazy when making PR seasons. hasbro rarely made original fight footage & overusing sentai footage. 4)disney never milking MMPR. 5)disney never tried to rebooting PR. 6)disney never tried to stop adapting sentai into PR. 7)disney never asked bandai to stop making PR toys while hasbro stop making PR toys after cosmic fury ended. 8)Disney may cancelled PR after RPM but hasbro is much worse. Hasbro is not only cancelled PR after cosmic fury but also stop making PR toys & asked Boom! studio to stop making PR comic. 9)after RPM,disney rerun MMPR in 2010 to keep PR as franchise alive. Hasbro now trying to kill PR as franchise. After Boom! Studio's MMPR comic ended, power rangers will be completely dead franchise because there will be no new PR content.
Disney tried to stop adapting Sentai into PR. In fact, one of the executives proposed to just dub Sentai. Besides, most of the effort wasn't Disney's work, it was Jetix Europe.
I love the vibes are tones of the Disney era, for one things the acting is definitely better than the ones we get currently and more watchable than the neo Saban and hasbro stuff. I wish we go back to the good parts of the Disney era and old Saban again.
I agree, but Disney is more worried with being "woke" than anything else. Power rangers teaches honestly, teamwork, and integrity. That goes against everything Disney stands for these days. So sad our world is like this.
So, it's way too early to say since the Playmates announcement was just made a week ago, but if Jada Toys got the license and made their own 6" line like they're doing with Street Fighter, the Lightning Collection would be put to shame. Think about it...
Personally, I blame Jon Warden. As shown with his handling of the Transformers brand as head designer, he only ever cared about the older, profitable series like G1, and anything outside of that like Transformers Prime was molded to look more LIKE G1 in the first year of the Legacy toyline. I imagine it's a similar thing to what's going on with Power Rangers only choosing to focus on Mighty Morphin for the most part but then not finishing anything they start because they don't see the toys immediately flying off the shelves like they expected.
@@mungosmungo8694 I don't know about that, the last few Super Sentai shows have been a banger and also Boonboomger currently. And they are all WAY BETTER than anything PR is throwing out nowadays.
I think when I found out that Hasbro is going to replace Bandai to produce toys and other products for power rangers is really bad feeling about it because Bandai have been making toys for Toei for years with Super Sentai toys which is same product for power rangers just couple years apart. Saban era and Disney era is following the Super Sentai yearly order. After Disney sold PR rights back to Saban, Saban decided to jump around to pick which show they want to adept rather then follow Super Sentai yearly programs. When I found out Hasbro brought both program and toy rights then I thought this is going to become trouble.
The dismantling of Power Rangers left a very bitter taste with me. However, it did give me a new appreciation for fan made toy, game, and video projects. Especially for all the abandoned gimmicks and formats over the years. Using Tabletop Simulator to play the Action Card Game, watching YT videos of creator who make their own figures and helmets, buying from vendors who made replacement labels and parts. I've been making my own ranger keys and accessories. So yes, the og PR brand as we know it is gone, but the community of fans continue.
I can't help but think Hasbro is missing the point of Power Rangers from both a toy and story perspective. I remember one of the main writers said something about removing the Toku from Power Rangers, and it seems to specifically mean the campiness of the source Sentai material. But the thing is Sentai works because of its campiness complimenting the dark themes of terrorism and genocide. Even more serious sentais kept the somewhat goofy robot designs and weapon concepts because Sentai is a kid focused show first and foremost. It encourages the kids to try to become the heroes like the ones scene on screen. Obviously Hasbro has given us kiddy original toys, but their desire for a more serious "Avenger esque" tone in (yet to be seen) original projects makes it seem like they are dismissing the kids that are the true power of the franchise. Even without those projects, you can kinda see that mindset with Hasbro's nostalgia pandering over finishing their concurrent show toylines. All and all, they seem to think that the kids aren't as important for the longevity of the brand, when they obviously are.
I had so much faith in Hasbro after they got the rights to Power Rangers. I thought Beast Morphers over all was a strong start for them but as time went on, especially with how underwhelming Dino Fury was, I became more and more uninterested in the tv/toy products. The comics have been great but that was really about it for me. I loved the anniversary special, and even tried giving Cosmic Fury a chance but definitely lost interest and barely made it through the whole season without doing something else entirely. And I’m just speaking as a life long fan who’s been around for and have seen the ups and downs… Oh and don’t get me started on the decision to basically cut ties with Toei….
I just wish they would release the hold on super Sentai DVDs. They should be both DVDs and streaming. But I think they only were allowed to finish already begun entries like dekaranger. Super Sentai thankfully is still where power rangers live on, officially brought over or not
Looking back, I’m glad Saban’s Masked Rider never took off. I can’t imagine how horrible Kamen Rider would be butchered, mishandled, and kiddified by the US corporate mindset. 😖
0:35 This was EXACTLY what I was expecting when Hasbro bought it and made that statement. The writing was always on the wall, from how Hasbro handles their other brands, to the break down of the work relationship with Bandai, to just how different Power Rangers is to their other stuff and that statement being very clear in how they were going to just fit this round peg into that square hole that is their business blueprint, make the brand work like their other brands and anyone familiar with that should know that would mean the end of Power Rangers as we've known it for decades. At least they had the decency to give the original run a proper ending, regardless of what opinions fans may have on its quality. It is more than I expected and I can give Hasbro that.
While I'm not going to say Hasbro's ownership of the brand is perfect, far from it, I think people are getting rose-colored glasses about the Neo Saban era, specifically the state of the franchise during Dino Supercharge and Ninja Steel. The failure of the 2017 movie, along with other factors both in the franchise and outside the franchise (such as the closing of Toys R Us), really killed Haim Saban's interest in keeping the show going. They were getting sold regardless. The only way Disney would take it back is if somebody else bought it and then Disney bought that new company, and even then, I doubt they'd bother continuing the franchise anyway. Also, a lot of these complaints are company-wide, not Power Rangers specific. Transformers hasn't had a DVD release (outside of the theatrical movies) since Robots in Disguise Season 1. The later seasons, Cyberverse, and the WFT trilogy do not have physical releases. G.I. Joe's shows between the DiC cartoon and Renegades are MIA. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic never finished on DVD and I'm pretty sure the current show hasn't had a physical release ever. Also, the Nick deal was a holdover from Saban. Why you're blaming Hasbro for that I have no idea. Hasbro also doesn't control how Nick advertises the show. And Power Rangers not being on cable TV anymore is not an issue. Kids cable TV has crapped out. Almost 70% of Cartoon Network's (specifically CN, not Adult Swim) viewership is above the age of 18. This is why Checkered Past is an Adult Swim brand and why Unicorn: Warriors Eternal and My Adventures with Superman became Adult Swim shows. Disney Channel just took over the top spot among kids channels with a whopping 126,000 viewers. That's less total viewers than the Saturday 2am airing of Naruto Shippuden on Toonami. Quite frankly, I'm betting the upcoming MeTV Toons channel will have better ratings than both Disney and Nickelodeon. And while I get that this is a Power Rangers channel, I think it's a bit disingenuous to ignore the broader going-ons in Hasbro. Transformers is obviously the top homegrown IP, but even that has been faltering heavily thanks to the movie not doing too well. They're relying more on redecoes and even with Earthspark, the greater Transformers fandom is ignoring them completely. G.I. Joe's Classified line is great, but they've begun to flood the market and the success of the figures hasn't really translated to the other parts of the franchise, as there hasn't been a TV show since Renegades ended over a decade ago and whether the movie crossover with Transformers comes to fruition is unknown. Wizards of the Coast and Dungeons & Dragons are on fire right now. My Little Pony is trucking along, but it doesn't have the attention that Friendship is Magic had. Even Marvel and Star Wars, the two brands propping up the company right now, aren't flawless either. Ollie's stores nationwide STILL have almost the entire waves of Marvel's Eternals, Wakanda Forever, Love and Thunder, and Age of Apocalypse waves, while Star Wars is surviving entirely on mold reuses with only one or two brand new figures every 6 months or so. There's been, like, 15 different Mandalorians already. Keep in mind that Hasbro isn't completely giving up on the franchise. In addition to the licensing toylines, they have a 24/7 channel on Roku and Pluto TV has been airing the show almost non-stop since they acquired Seasons 2-17. Then even had a guy in an MMPR Red costume appear at Kids Opening Day at the Orioles game this year.
Rose-colourd? Yeah that's far from the truth PR fans agree that the Neo Saban era (except for some reason Dino Charge) was mid. It's the Disney era that's the rose-coloured glasses.
Hasbro is the worst thing to ever happen to this show. I love the Disney seasons to pieces and watching PR deteriorate under New Saban only for Hasbro to give the final blow was just heartbreaking.
I feel like they bit off more than they can chew. I personally believe that they could do a lot more if they re-sign a deal with Toei to adapt/localize some Sentai seasons that didn't make it over. They could also look at some of the older seasons and adapt them with new concepts. I saw an artist's concept redesigns of an older Sentai series on Instagram, from suits, to mecha, and they were fantastic. They could definitely do something similar and make something old into something new. It would be cool t see a completely redesigned version of Choujin Sentai Jetman's suits and mecha, for example. This can also benefit them in the toy department: Redesigned morphers, weapons/aresnal, villains/footsoldiers, Zords, etc. They have the resources, they just need to put a team behind Rangers that actually CAre about the IP and want to see it succeed. I know that it all comes down to making money in the end, but there's so much that they can do.
Honestly I have to say it: If Power Morphicon 2024 doesn't have any solid news on the future of Power Rangers if nothing is revealed by them, it will hurt the brand beyond belief.
Im glad someone out there not sugar coated things. I mean its not really hard to do pr on the toy side of things. Its more of a shame they are caplable of good work like the pudgy pig for ex. But add in there incompetence hasbrahs run is left unfulfilled
The comics coming to an end was sad but it was to be expected, because Hasbro don't want to keep the classic series alive when the Netflix reboot is coming up.
Actually, Hasbro doesn't really own Transformers outright. There is some weird thing licensing deal where Hasbro owns the characters and IP, while Takara owns the toy designs and does the bulk of the engineering. Gobots has a similar deal where Hasbro owns the IP and names, but can't use full depictions of the characters because those are owned by Bandai due to being toys originally licensed by Tonka, who Hasbro bought. MLP and GI Joe are the only notable brands Hasbro owns outright. The big issue here is that Hasbro can't produce childrens toys and have been incapable of doing so for going on 15 years now. They split brands between collector and kids, kids get the short end of the stick quality wise and nothing sells the volumes needed. I'm hopeful for Playmates as I think they can still make childrens toys. I think a shrunk down version of the MMPR articulation, the flip changers I think had the same? Those would be fine.
This is inaccurate. What you said about Transformers was only true for the original G1 series. Nowadays both Hasbro and Takara designers work together to design toys. For example the recent Legacy United Starscream was designed by Hasbro’s Mark Maher and Takara’s Yuya Onishi. Even the most recent Transformers Haslab was a joint effort by Hasbro’s Evan Brooks and Takara’s Hisashi Yuki. All of this information is readily available from the Transformers live streams on Hasbropulse and from the designers instagrams, so I have no clue how this misconception came to be.
Hasbro is really suffering the bad selling from the Disney merchandise, and as a Power Rangers and Transformers fan it is hurting the production and distribution of new figures
16:14 Bro I ordered my Master Morpher and I NEVER got it. Because I called up Hasbro Pulse and they said that my order got lost. So I ended up getting a refund.
A point of clarification on the comics. The Boom Studios press release very clearly stated that only the titled series "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" was ending. Not them producing PR comics entirely. This is par for the course. The main comic series had changed names twice already. The current title has been running as such for about two years, so it also makes sense to get a new main title out starting at issue #1 to get more people in.
Honestly after seeing the neo seban and the Hasbro era, I feel like if anyone has something against any of the Disney era shows, I feel like they're thinking" perhaps I treated you too harshly"
The "live show" actually did make it out to malls in the US. I went to the one in the Dallas area. It was....not great. Suits were poor quality, they were really limited in the number of actors they had, not even featuring actors for all five/six rangers, and the "enemies" they were fighting were invisible so they basically came out on stage and started punching air. It was definitely meant for kids to find interesting, and there WERE more kids at my show than I was expecting, but you can tell they basically had the budget of a couple pieces of string and some gum.
Power Rangers can't do what Super Sentai does when it comes to stage shows, hence with that miniscule budget, they're not willing to hire a Cirque du Soleil-style team that can rival Theatre G-Rosso.
I think what hurt the toy sales was the crazy price hike that Hasbro did that lead to all discount stores in 2023. Look at Turbo Blue Sentorian it was priced as a deluxe because it included 2 extras exclusive sculpted peices. Let not forget how big the box was for no reason......
Do you know what would be a great video from you? A kind of "alternate history" look at all the recent Sentai shows that PR *could* have adapted into new seasons if they weren't ending that version of the brand and rebooting.
This is why I finally started watching Sentai and I don't ever plan on going back to PR other than to watch the old seasons I grew up with, MMPR - Mystic Force , and RPM cause it was the only one good after Mystic Force. But Im sticking with Sentai. Started with King Ohger and my god I love that show so much that episode 1 I went and ordered a Bandai figure. Finished the series, ordered the Replica Calibur, and ordered the whole team cause Bandai does it best. I grew up with Bandai, they release full teams and more before the series is even out and then add so much extra stuff in between. But screw Hasbro, screw Netflix , couldn't care less about what they do. Theirs so much I want to get into on how they handled the franchise and Simon's quotes about the franchise but I just don't care anymore. Japan cares about its customers, fans, franchises, I'm sticking to that.
Why is it that every IP with a huge fan base seems to be owned by companies that don't care it's a very frustrating time to be a fan of almost anything now
Didn't even realize half of this was going on. Crazy that it's all put into perspective like this. Still, I'd argue that the Lightning Collection has been the best representation of the rangers in 6 inch figure form thus far for retail prices.
Since Hasbro took over store support has taken a nosedive too.... I always saw Power Rangers merchandise on the shelves in decent amounts until 2021 or so... My local Walmart hasn't stocked ANY Power Rangers toys for the past 2.5 to 3 years! And while both of our local Target stores do have some things, it basically amounts to one or two pegs of figures, a couple of morphers, and a megazord or two.... The same T-rex champion zord has been at one store for at least 2 years now, and the lightning collection figures were last stocked early in 2023.... So either the stores didn't order anything or Hasbro wasn't supplying it, who knows who is to blame?
It's totally possible that Saban (and associates) fudged numbers and lied about how valuable Power Rangers truly was in order to get someone to buy it - only for Hasbro to then put their plans into action and realise that this giant "Transformers"-style fanbase wasn't exactly there. That sort of thing does happen.
Excellent video covering the downfall and mishandling of the franchise by Hasbro. Especially disappointed at Lightning Collection not being completed:(
@@Atlanticocean.chihuahua I hope so. I don't want MMPR animated, MMPR Prime, MMPR by Michael Bay, MMPR in disguise, MMPR Cyberse, MMPR Earthspark, and so on.
Hasbro really is the toy company version of Disney. They just acquire ip and run it into the ground chasing profits they will never see or sit on them and completely miss the boat on the nostalgic toy craze. Except for Ghostbusters apparently and it's either really popular or distribution is just crap like it is for Masters of the Universe.
They'd also have to talk to Harmony Gold and Big West for that one, not just Bandai but hey, if they did that, we could at least get a more G1-toy-accurate Jetfire someday...

Good video. Pretty much on the money.
Thanks Simon 🙌 for everything
I find Hasbro's handling of the brand... offensive. They spoke so highly when they acquired it, but now they make it sound like Power Rangers failed THEM 'cause it's just a weak, niche brand. They take no responsibility for the myriad ways they've mistreated the theme. If the QC alone was on par with Transformers or maybe Star Wars, it may've performed better. I backed out of supporting ZAP soley because every release was broken by design in some way (as documented by you). Hopefully playmates puts out something sturdier meant to be played with and not just... looked at.
First ive seen you on a tjomega video, now a powerrangertube video.
Love your vids 👍

Since you bring this up, I think Jada Toys should get the rights to make collector action figures.
I feel they sent over the molds for the merchandise and remade it over here in America cause they could do packaging better that way
F***ING THING SUCKS!!!
I miss the days when we just got (barring minor differences) the same zord toys that Bandai JP made.

Pr is a dead brand. Best to sell it to toei and try making sentai accessible to the US market.
@@WGPhil-uw5cs If this means Shout! Factory can get the chance to sub more Super Sentai seasons, that would be totally awesomesauce.
@shanthegamer21 nah, not dub. Subbing sure, but the dubbing industry (especially anime) is subpar to trash. Toei should try airing sentai on Netflix and make the merchandise also more accessible to actual store fronts.
It's wild how hasbro has MTG,DnD , transformers, power rangers, MLP and ruined everything in the name of corporate greed/incompetentcy

I wouldn't call Beast morphers a "good" adaptation. They fucked up the original transformation.
@@ondururagittandeska2004 Yeah I agree, I don't think Beast Morphers was a great adaptation. It was an ok adaptation. Hasbro tv era is probably the most divisive era in the franchise history. @@ondururagittandeska2004 That's your reason for not liking BM? Because of the morphing sequence?

Priorities of DEI hires that had zero experience with "brand rescue " abosodidnt help
I mentioned this to Bruno from MMPRToys, and he said the following:
I think it was my last video with Tony when I asked him fan questions, one of which was "when will you make non-MMPR things?" His response was "when fans start buying other things." This tells me Hasbro is blaming fans for not supporting the other seasons. Which is only half true. There are fans who support the other seasons, but the majority only care about Mighty Morphin. Which is sad because I like the other seasons, but there's barely any toys from the other seasons. So I can't really say the fans are completely at fault here? Hasbro also mishandled the brand.
I get your point there. This is the reason why I have problems with the Power Rangers fandom.
@@jericbinuya327 Same here. To borrow a quote from Ryo Sakurai: "I love Mighty Morphin, but I don't wanna be reminded of it every single season."

It must suck tremendously to have completed designs for these toys, then see them marred by quality control and discontinued altogether almost a year later.
obviously NDAs exist, but I'd love to hear from one of these designers about the creation process.
100%. The Lightning Collection figures, what there were of them, were amazing.

Never fully trust corporate promises. The whole point of a business is profit. That's why it's not a charity.
Cosmic Fury, for what good points I felt like it did have, upsets me so much because it means we won't get a full adaptation of Kyuranger
When they stopped adapting as close they lost me.

Amen brother
Disney is not buying Hasbro.
@@DesignIncase Isn't the new CEO originally in charge of Wizards of the Coast?
The problem with those outsourced projects is
1. Price
2. The over abundance of MMPR
That one Dino Zord recreation was almost $500.
This is why I'm going hard into Super Sentai. Started collecting stuff that will now and never will be adapted into Power Rangers.
It's a great time to be a Sentai fan now that PR is dead and I've done my part to encourage others to abandon this sinking ship of a franchise and what's great is you have 48 shows to watch and a lot of movies too!

Even giving the QC issues, if PR sold well, Hasbro wouldn't have outsourced it to Playmates. Thats just the plain truth.
At this point, they should give the toy rights back to Bandai.
Bandai never lost them.
@@ondururagittandeska2004Dude, what are you even talking about?
I was genuinely disappointed since I liked Beast Morphers
"and every person on the planet know damn well its gonna be another MMPR reboot to ride on the nostalgia but probably using a female lead to attract a newer fanbase"
They DON'T know that actually.
However within the past couple of years I’ve come to see each of your points ring true and time and time again have found myself going “oh dang, that’s what Tommy was talking about.”
It’s so weird seeing Hasbro do things like complaining that Power Rangers just doesn’t sell but like you said the Master Morpher sold out in 5 minutes.
Their biggest fumble was not doing a show or movie with JDF like he was promised

What?

I disagree about avoiding animating power rangers.

12:00 Yeah, good, a full reboot, and not just one in the comics or movies, is literally the last thing I want.
And I’m just speaking as a life long fan who’s been around for and have seen the ups and downs…
Oh and don’t get me started on the decision to basically cut ties with Toei….
They didn't cut ties with Toei.
Hasbro dismantled Power Rangers in the same sense that a drunk driver dismantles their car when they crash it at high speed.
I just wish they would release the hold on super Sentai DVDs. They should be both DVDs and streaming. But I think they only were allowed to finish already begun entries like dekaranger. Super Sentai thankfully is still where power rangers live on, officially brought over or not

@@GuiltlessGear ooh the pin of shame
Rose-colourd? Yeah that's far from the truth PR fans agree that the Neo Saban era (except for some reason Dino Charge) was mid. It's the Disney era that's the rose-coloured glasses.
Hasbro is synonymous with bad decisions and incomplete collections throughout multiple toy lines not just power rangers.
Hasbro is the worst thing to ever happen to this show. I love the Disney seasons to pieces and watching PR deteriorate under New Saban only for Hasbro to give the final blow was just heartbreaking.
This is exactly why I started watching super Sentai
Now I just imagine these shows adapted to power rangers
Imagine if Hasbro ends up outsourcing to Bandai. Heck, there’s a chance we could get that Legacy Shogun yet…
Bandai of America is literally not capable of producing toys of that caliber anymore.
Maybe we can get a Quantum Ranger or Zen-Aku in the future... one day when im not 33. (im not crying)
A lot of series no longer have physical releases, or even purchase options. We are gradually being pushed into a streaming-only dystopia
16:14 Bro I ordered my Master Morpher and I NEVER got it. Because I called up Hasbro Pulse and they said that my order got lost. So I ended up getting a refund.
Hasbro really needs to step up their game
A point of clarification on the comics. The Boom Studios press release very clearly stated that only the titled series "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" was ending. Not them producing PR comics entirely. This is par for the course. The main comic series had changed names twice already. The current title has been running as such for about two years, so it also makes sense to get a new main title out starting at issue #1 to get more people in.
It’s amazing how Disney wasn’t the worst deal to happen to Power Rangers
Honestly after seeing the neo seban and the Hasbro era, I feel like if anyone has something against any of the Disney era shows, I feel like they're thinking" perhaps I treated you too harshly"
Arguably they gave us some of the best seasons in the franchise bar 1 or 2.
@@Drilbit which is better than I can say for the neo Saban era
WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT DISNEY HAD THE BEST SEASONS EVER! Dino thunder was better than even mighty morphin!
Plays clip of the Thunderzords falling apart. Adds caption: "THANKS HASBRO"
Personally I'd love to see you do a Power Rangers analysis. I feel like you'd have a unique perspective to share.
Oh, I didn't knew kyuuranger got adapted in the most awful way possible.
This is like unwrapping your christmas gift and it's just a bunch of cardboard and note that says "fuck you".
Especially disappointed at Lightning Collection not being completed:(
I swear if the megazord fights is gonna be fully CGI instead of suit zords I'm gonna be furious.
Yeah, the CGI felt a bit off in Once and Always. Honestly, it looked too much like a PS2 cutscene.
@@chronogaruda2003 hasbro better not do the whole "resign mmpr suits differently" on the reboot too
They will. American cinema considers tokusatsu a lesser art form to CGI. Why do you think the Monsterverse has CGI kaiju?
There is no reboot. It's simply a pipe dream at this point.
It wasn't only brand that they destroy
Hasbruh destroy beyblade brust look at quad drive the bey were horrible lmao
the vibe im getting is that Goldner actually cared. but then he died, and as usual Chris Cocks is cocking everything up.

They'd also have to talk to Harmony Gold and Big West for that one, not just Bandai
but hey, if they did that, we could at least get a more G1-toy-accurate Jetfire someday...

1. Announced that they're not making anymore shows
2. Started pandering

Hasbro has dropped the ball with a lot of their properties. Power rangers and Ghostbusters especially.
At this time, Power Rangers should be bought by either Boom Comics or Toei Company
