  • In this video I assemble and take a first look at the Shark Stratos mains powered upright cleaner.
    Shark Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus Anti-Odour Upright Vacuum [NZ860UK]
    Details below from Shark’s website:
    Introducing a revolutionary upright vacuum from the Shark Stratos collection.
    Shark’s best ever hair pick-up.
    Tired of removing tangled hair from your brush-roll? Anti Hair Wrap Plus removes long, short and pet hair from the brush-roll as you clean, so you don't have to. The enhanced brush-roll design delivers Shark's best ever hair pick-up.
    Anti-Odour Technology protects against bad odours inside the vacuum for a fresher-smelling home
    A unique cartridge system guards against dust cup odours commonly caused by hair, dust and dander. Simply insert the Anti-Odour Technology dial into the floorhead and rotate to select an odour intensity setting.
    Perfect for all floor types
    Our signature DuoClean floorhead glides from carpets to hard floors with two motorised brush-rolls working together in one floorhead - the Anti Hair Wrap Plus brush-roll cleans deep into carpets, drawing out embedded dirt and picking up hair, while a soft front brush-roll draws in debris and lifts stuck-on dust from hard floors.
    With simple controls on the handle, easily switch between 3 floor settings to clean hard floors, low pile carpets and thick pile carpets or area rugs.
    Signature LED headlights in the floorhead help to illuminate hidden dust. Enjoy an extra-long cleaning reach of up to 10.06m thanks to the stretch hose and long 8m power cord.
    Easily clean stairs and under furniture
    Is cleaning stairs an uphill struggle? Go portable with Powered Lift-Away.
    Transform this powerful upright into a portable vacuum cleaner at the touch of a button. Simply lift the main unit away from the wand to clean under furniture - the brush-rolls continue rotating and drawing in dirt, even in portable mode.
    Detach the floorhead to comfortably clean stairs, soft furnishings, up high and more with 2 included attachments - a Crevice Tool and Multi-Surface Tool.
    Anti-Allergen Complete Seal
    Anti-Allergen Complete Seal captures and traps 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum, not releasing them back into the air you breathe*. Shark’s high efficiency filters are contained within a completely sealed unit, offering extra reassurance for allergy sufferers and homes with pets.
    We’re confident you’ll love your new Shark vacuum cleaner, offering a free 5-year guarantee for your peace of mind.
    *Based on IEC standard 62885-2 Cl. 5.14 at 0.3 to 10 microns.

    Great demonstration as always Roger. I bought this model at the back end of last year when it first launched & having previously owned three different Lift-Away models, this one is by far the best - I love the fragrance of the anti-odour cartridge. The only drawback is that I find it rather top-heavy as you also mentioned in your review.

    Just bought the stratos online. I saw it on the tv. so far so good. Would like to thank you for the demo. Wasn`t sure how to use the accessories. Lots of pros but 1 con is wish the hose was a little longer. I have the shark carpet cleaner, looks kinda like the vacum. That machine is why I bought the vacum. Thank you. Love the socks.

      Sharks are sealed vacuums meaning dust won’t exit the vacuum, but with any bagless machine they smell dusty because of the filters. Same with bagged having a stinky bag in a vacuum for ages is horrible

    Roger on further inspection would you recommend this hoover ? I'm going back to corded to get the deep clean on various carpets in my home, I did look at the sebo but I don't like the idea of changing filters and bags so if your happy with the result of this model I'll get it if not could you advise me on another model...thanks

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  8 місяців тому

      I would pick a Sebo Felix over this model which would require far less maintenance than a bagless Shark. Changing a bag once every two months (depending on usage) and possibly a new exhaust filter every two years is far less trouble than constant filter washing and maintenance needed for an average bagless vacuum.

    • @jasonward885
      @jasonward885 8 місяців тому

      Thanks for the reply my only concern with corded hoovers is the restrictions of wattage power of 900 watts....are they still powerful enough to deep clean on carpets with these restrictions, don't you have to change the outside of the felix as well its like the long cover that goes round the hoover? I do like the cylinder sebo as i can use on stairs if you can recommend a couple of models, i also like miele if you can recommend a couple of models, I could do with a reply off you today mate as I've ordered the shark but I could cancel,....thanks for your help
      Jason

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  8 місяців тому

      Even with the restrictions a good corded vacuum will outperform a cordless considerably. Some cordless cleaners come close, but only when used on boost mode which reduces run time and battery life. The Felix exhaust filter which is the patterned cloth around the hard bag housing does not have to be changed on a regular basis in my experience. My Mum used her Felix for more than five years before I fitted a new filter and the filter under the bag has never been changed because if you use genuine Sebo bags no noticeable dust escapes into the bag compartment.
      I like the Sebo powerhead cylinders as they are the best of both worlds but can be awkward to use. The felix can be detached from the powerhead to make cleaning stairs with the hose easier and you can get an extension hose that stretches to the top of the stairs. Miele cleaners are decent but the bags are small and fairly expensive. I wouldn’t recommend any of the bagless Miele cleaners and the compact bagless and some of the bagged cylinders are made in China.
      I can’t tell you what to buy as you may not like the cleaners I like, but I tend to use Sebo machines myself as my day to day vacuums and I grab whatever cordless I have handy for a quick clean. If you have bought the Shark from a retailer that will allow returns, then get it and see if you like it, but keep an eye on the filter under the bin and watch how quickly it gets covered in dust.

    • @dglcomputers1498

      Yes, why people buy this crap is beyond me. It gets sold to them with flashy adverts when buying something "simpler" from a company that cares about quality is the better option. Maybe more manufacturers need to take the henry quick lead and go big on how much cleaner and easier bags are, and how you don't need to empty your vacuum anywhere near as much.
      As for the "anti odour" technology, that's nothing new, there has been "anti odour" features available for vacuums for years, either the air fresheners that the likes of Hoover used or charcoal filters.

    • @darkhallucination
      @darkhallucination Рік тому

      @@dglcomputers1498 I know right. I'd like to know why ppl think that bagless is a step forward in vacuum technology. As a kid (here in the USA) I grew up having to empty the old cloth shake-out vacuum bags. Then my mom bought a vac with paper bags and it was great! Now we're back to the old ways. Not to mention, vacuum dust is considered a Class 2 Hazardous Material. Not something g I'd want all over my skin. I'll take my Sebo with bags!

    • @dglcomputers1498
