There's no "maybe" about it, Prime 4 will absolutely be a cross-gen release. In fact, one thing I don't see talked about very much, but I really would not be surprised to see this strategy being generally employed for the next couple years by Nintendo - making their upcoming games cross-gen compatible. They take advantage of their existing 150m console market while providing performance and visual upgrades to entice the sale of their next system.
I feel the curtain is closing in on scalping obviously it will never come to an end but just with the recent ps5 30th anniversary stuff was being sold in abundance i seen a lot of stock being up for around an hour before it eventually sold out and sony themselves putting up a queue system on ps direct to prevent bots and people getting multiple of the same things to scalp in big quantities so it’s good to see companies take action on it rather than just blindly ignore it
I just had an idea. Probably because I would love to play Super Mario Galaxy 2 again. I think the reason it hasn’t released on switch is because I believe it used that sensor bar on the Wii. It released on the WiiU but that console had an included sensor bar. What if the next system had one of those bars built into the dock? Then you could theoretically play any of nintendos games ever made. Just me thinking of course. This is an idea that haven’t seen anyone mention so thought I would throw it out there.
Nintendo you can take your sweet sweet time I understand that making 7 million systems have to go perfect. I would rather have a perfect console on release then not be able to get one or have an imperfect console
For awoved's defense, not every single game needs to have an open world. Games worlds seems to be made to one just for the sake of it. They always have so much wasted space, so why not make it open zone where the zones has been packed with good content and make the travel time to these zones cutscenes or loadscreens.
I feel like the Switch 2 is going to be a beefed up Switch. If it was truly innovative, that information would have leaked. No leaks about dual screen or weird controller. It sounds like the Switch 2 is just a beefed up Switch that will still be less powerful than the PS5 despite coming out 4 years after. It's best to lower expectations with this one.
You can't take the Wii U tablet out of your house. The PlayStation portal connects online so you can take it anywhere in the world with a stable internet connection. The portal can also stream games directly from PlayStation Plus, making it a standalone streaming handheld.
scalpers also have to realize that we arent exactly in the "chip shortage" issue that we were in for the past few years...by the time the PS5 Pro launched, there were plenty for Sony to hold onto for CUSTOMERS, to the point that the Scalped systems had to eat a loss...im feeling somewhat confident that the Next Nintendo system will also have a 'supply cushion', to where maybe ill WANT a scalped system, for the $50-discount :-P
DQ3 was voted in the top 10/100 best ever games in 2021 in Japan in a large national channel vote, above all the other DQ entries as well. It was always going to sell extremely well in Japan. I must admit I’m tempted as the HD2D style looks great.
19:43 I wonder if you get a separate router that does not connect to the internet but only is wired to your PS5 whether the Portal can communicate with it.
There are E-sales, but I don't buy many downloads - after one game I bought disappeared from my Switch when I didn't play it for a year. When I went back to play the game again I had to re-download the game, that was disconcerting.
I think you should do some coverage on how bad the sale in the Canadian ps store are compared to US. Many games are now more than they were on sale years ago. It’s extremely disappointing.
Wait the calculation is flawed though, right? Because it says 2.5x the AMERICAN market. Which isn't necessarily the same as worldwide. And people keep multiplying worldwide numbers.
Like it could still be a lot... but if they only multiply this market and others stay more similar to before... then that 7 mil can potentially start to seem real silly
Yes, but the fact is that there will be more units available at launch. For the US alone, it's 2.5x, and for other markets it's either greater or less. I would assume greater for Japan because of how much the Switch sold in Japan. But you made a good point, though. :)
I hope nintendo floods the market so resellers don't make any money and have to sell at a loss.

I feel the curtain is closing in on scalping obviously it will never come to an end but just with the recent ps5 30th anniversary stuff was being sold in abundance i seen a lot of stock being up for around an hour before it eventually sold out and sony themselves putting up a queue system on ps direct to prevent bots and people getting multiple of the same things to scalp in big quantities so it’s good to see companies take action on it rather than just blindly ignore it
That was down to massively limited numbers = higher value
I'm waiting with baited breath for the Lego: Horizon numbers. I *sooooo* want to see it sell better on Switch than PS5 or PC...
Why? That's such a weird thing to be obsessed about.
Damn roller coaster tycoon? Guess I know what my holiday travel game is
There is also a Pokemon inspired Dark Souls 3 mod that was released more than 4 years ago, long before Pokemon Legends, that has a similar mechanic.
Yall been saying a switch 2 been coming out since 2017. Don't say you know when Nintendo will announce the system. yall don't know at all. Lol
Marcel Vos' channel is about to explode with Roller Coaster Tycoon going to Switch
12:04 I got Sand Land too the other day. I didn't even know what the game was and looked it up; Looks very intriguing.
Does anyone know what happened to the planned Microsoft Mobile Store?
All the things I've seen from Avowed looks absolutely amazing. It'll hold us over until Elder Scrolls VI in six years... lol.
Beginning of NewsWave and Spawn sounds better, but by the end he sounds like he's picked up a 3 pack a day habit LO - GET WELL SOON BRO!
Wukong is the best action game since Ragnarok. Glad it’s getting some recognition.
I didn't even know there was a new fable until i saw your poll lol
Playstation direct has a sale too, like nioh collection is 20 bucks, spiderman 2 is like 50. There is a bunch of stuff on sale there
Now that Rollercoaster Tycoon is coming to switch, give me Caesar 3 and take all my money, lol
I am looking forward to our turn based combat future. welcome back JRPGs!
When I hear about Fable, it makes me wonder, "what ever happened to Project Milo?"
Hey John, have a great weekend. I hope you make a top 10 list or something by the end of the year for 2024 games. I’d love to hear your thoughts
scalpers also have to realize that we arent exactly in the "chip shortage" issue that we were in for the past few years...by the time the PS5 Pro launched, there were plenty for Sony to hold onto for CUSTOMERS, to the point that the Scalped systems had to eat a loss...im feeling somewhat confident that the Next Nintendo system will also have a 'supply cushion', to where maybe ill WANT a scalped system, for the $50-discount :-P
Nice W for square with dragon quest 3 HD2D
DQ3 was voted in the top 10/100 best ever games in 2021 in Japan in a large national channel vote, above all the other DQ entries as well. It was always going to sell extremely well in Japan.
I must admit I’m tempted as the HD2D style looks great.
Sounding a whole lot better.
Honestly im worried that Fable is going to be a release like Dragon's Age The Veilguard. Hopefully they dont go that route...
Feel better Spawn, I caught a cold from my wife just the other day.
Open zone you say? I didn't expect a sequel to Sonic Frontiers so soon!
I WISH they had the digital copy of ER on sale so I could finally get it digitally and play with my cousin...
Random: your asymmetric ears are awesome.
Am I crazy? 😅
Yes, but the fact is that there will be more units available at launch. For the US alone, it's 2.5x, and for other markets it's either greater or less. I would assume greater for Japan because of how much the Switch sold in Japan. But you made a good point, though. :)
I really hope they don’t overdo fable and ruin it.
