I know it says that, but it helps whatever hair it is put on no matter where it is on the body. You can put it on your beard, and your beard will eventually start growing longer. That is what some people do for growing out their beard. They say only on the vertex because that is the area of the head they tested minoxidil on in trials. Hope this helps. Fact if your shedding After switching from orals to the topicals in this video in my experience is a good thing. It means it’s working well for you. My personal experience starting with the topical combo described in this video was it worked better without question, more hair thicker hair less loss…… but it was a pain. Oily hair scalp all the time just messy and laborious. Especially if you have a large area that you need to treat which I did, and a lot of people do. And without question less side effects. Oral minoxidil even now causes me once in a while irregular heartbeat. It doesn’t last long but it’s real and it sucks and I work out every day. It’s not something that’s ever happened. It’s definitely because of oral minoxidil which I take 1.25 mg which is half of the normal pill of 2.5. I find if you could limit or eliminate caffeine. That problem goes away. But I like my coffee so all tough choices. I Use oral exclusively now, I’m not thrilled about it, but it’s easy to take 2 pills then deal with that every day. That’s just the truth Of the pros and cons of oral or topical. Two hair transplants four years on medication’s. My advice is if you can avoid the orals it’s a healthier choice to go with the topical combos in this video. No question about it. It worked better no question . I simply switch to the convenient route. I don’t like any of it, but that’s the choice I’ve made for the last 18 months. To me at all sucks but what are you gonna do. Especially if you’ve gone as far as to have surgery, like me, and others, spent the money gotta do what you Gotta do. Good luck!
I have thinning all around too and I’m afraid that a topical solution would make my hair look greasy and thinner since it would make them clump together. I in fact wash my hair everyday just to prevent oily hair making my hair look thinner. Do you apply the solution at night only and wash it off in the morning?
@@jojomp_459 would the hair go back to looking dry with no clumping if I just use a comb gently after 30mins? Also, do you apply on a dry scalp or is it alright to apply after a shower?
What are the chances of experiencing loss of libido with topical finasteride? Are they saying it doesn't happen with the topical solution because it doesn't go directly in the bloodstream like the oral use?
Topical Finasteride caused me permanent damage to the genital tissue. Don't even think about trying it. Hims is a devil company with no remorse for their victims.
I'd urge you all to be careful. Tried MIN Foam 5% on its own for about 2 months last year. Got chest pains and depression. It's supposed to flush out of the system about 4 days from stopping. Yet it took a good 3 weeks to get back to normal. Saw some aging effects too. Be careful guys...
Which concentration of finasteride in spray form is best? I suspect the higher concentration but if the results are comparable I’ll opt for the minimum effective dose so as to mitigate against side effects Also, I’m microneedling. I’m told microneedling, finasteride, and minoxidil are great as they they compound or stack the benefits in your favor. What are your thoughts on micro needling? Can I microneedle on the same days I use the spray or should I wait 24 hours to microneedle then wait another 24 hours to resume spraying ? I’m using a depth of 0.5mm to 0.75mm so as not to hit that bulb or bulge (I forget the term)
I've recently come off of oral finasteride & been taking topical for the past few weeks & have niticed increased hair shedding. Is that normal & how long will this last?

Hey! Hoping you'll reply. I have previously taken finasteride 1mg daily when I was around 18, 19 years old (of course, prescribed). I had good results for sure, my hair loss reduced and new hair although very less in number, came in. But I faced some side effects like gynaecomastia (very less but it was there and still hasn't completely gone away) and decreased libido for sure. I told the doctor and he asked me to stop it immediately. Should I now opt for tropical finasteride or just stay away from finasteride and continue minoxidil? Thank you.
I just received the HIMS topical spray today. I still have a full head of hair, and haven’t noticed any shedding. But when my hair is wet, it looks like i can see more scalp than i used to. So we’ll see. Does anyone have experience with the warning that the new hair may grow in differently than your existing hair? What does this mean? 😳🤨
@@keanandarnell8709 lol. I get that. I’ve seen my own self with wet hair everyday for my whole life. I only started seeing more scalp in the last few years when my hair is the same degree of wet. 🤣
Any gains you make with minoxidil or finasteride will be lost if you stop taking them. You will gradually be sent back to where you started before you took it. However, if you resolved the issue of the hair loss due to unhealthy eating or COVID while you were taking minoxidil and/or finasteride, your hair will probably be a bit better than before you started taking them. I hope this makes sense and helped you out.
I’ve been taking 1mg finasteride Oral Medication since last April I’ve noticed improvements in hair coverage and reduction in hair loss. Im tempted to try topical to see if I notice any difference in my mood etc do you think it’s worth it
How early before potential pregnancy should you keep Topical Fin away from a female partner? Like they should never get near it as it does perm harm to child bearing functions/future offspring? or just can't come in contact just before or during pregnancy?
First u have to understand that finasteride is a 5 Alpha reductase blocker so inhibiting the formation of DHT.If your baby boy is going to be a male and the women is exposed to finasteride then it might inhibit the descent of the testes into the scrotum bag and also cause fluctuations in the hormones of the baby 5:24 5:24
Well, sadly not exactly what I was trying to find out. I am getting a new shipment and was looking to see if topical finasteride is still safe if taking the pill form or if I should even do that vs justa minoxodil only formula for the topical treatment.
All I wonna know is if I start this can I stop if I wanted to ? In the sense that if I stop I’m assuming it will eventually go back to how my hair was but will it make my hair loss worse?
From what I’ve read you do have to continue using hims to keep your hair. Once you stop your hair will fall off and thin in the same way it was before you started using hims. I read in some places that it might make hair fall off quicker after you stop using it but idk. Overall I’d prefer to just not use it and hoping what I have is just a widows peak lol.
Don't just use products. Use micro needles or derma stamps. Those will give you permanent benefits. Oh and you don't need finasteride, if you have male pattern baldness, you will go right back to balding after you stop it, and I don't think you want to mess with your hormones long term.
I have a happy head Fin. 0.3%, Min. 8% (Happy Head Finasteride Liposomal) perscription does anyone know what that equates to if i were to take an oral fin equivalent?
I'm using a topical solution containing 0.1% minoxidil and 0.1% finesteride, you think it'll be effective in promoting beard growth? I do have a little hair and somewhat dense french-cut like beard, but I'm using this solution (Densita MF) to aid in beard growth, you think this combination of this 0.1% concentration is going to be effective? I'm not using it to treat baldness, I'm not going bald yet
I don't know about finasteride, but I've used minoxidil 5% for the beard, everyday for 3 months, and seen very good results. It's still not completely full but if I trim it right, it gives the impression of a fuller beard. You can expect some shedding when you stop applying minox, but when the air has become black, it won't fall off. It's only the hairs that grew but aren't black yet that will fall off if stop applying minox. You should go for it!
You may also want to look up SYLFIRM microneedling (only 1.5 “ deep) used with topical Exosomes. It did wonders for my sister and my friend and they had a lot of hair loss on the top of their head, especially in that center cap area. However, I tried it for the front of my hairline where I was getting a receding hairline (I’m female) and it did not work very well. Apparently, with the Exosomes you have to have hair follicles near by, like at the top of your head , for it to take affect…..and not that much in the front where there is no hair on a receding hairline. So don’t wait if you’re receding because it’s more difficult to treat. I only offer this info because I know how devastating it is for some people to lose their hair and this really does work for some people. But obviously do your due diligence! I’ve also heard that just plain micro needling with a stamp can also be effective because it brings oxygen and blood supply to the scalp. My sister also used the iRESTORE hair cap and although it did not give her a tremendous amount of hair , she was very happy with the results. It is very expensive and it does require 30 minutes several times a week I think… but she thought it was worth it and she found wearing the cap very relaxing. There is also a smaller laser cap that goes over the receding hairline area for three minutes and you just keep moving it back until you cover the area you need. I do not remember the name of this one, but the UA-camr “ Hot and Flashy” uses it and she loves it. SO THANK YOU DR. ASPIRES! For all your enlightening videos, and in the smooth way that you present the knowledge so that we can understand it in layman‘s term.! And for providing wonderful comment sections for us to learn. You’re an excellent doctor and an excellent teacher!!! 👍👍👍 Btw- Do you have any information on the safety and efficacy of microneedling(stamp) the finasteride & minoxidil into the scalp? 🤔

I’m 25 and I just got diagnosed with alopecia areata what is the best option for me if anyone can help lmk I have lost a small circle patch in the worst spot possible on my hairline In the front. Also with having alopecia is it bad to wear my hair back?
I think Finasteride is the best option as it'll stop new forms of patches in the future and minoxidil can help fill it in by your hairline but wearing your hair back tightly can cause tension hairloss
Anyone not using finasteride and minoxidil weather you decided using topical or oral is the only ture tried and decades tested .you'll be losing ground if you use anything else ,but hey you'll find out the hard way making up lost ground is very hard and next to impossible if you buy into quackery .i stil try adding some of these new gimmicks to my stack just to see if i get another added boost and no nothing new takes off .they use to say copper peptides made your hair grow .well i would have looked like a werewolf by now .i injected it directly into my scalp with an insulin needle and nothing new grew .its funny how guys that don't have androgenic alopecia have the answers to hair growth when they never have it for themselves .it's either you have it or you been gifted with good generics .in this you tubers instance he could just put moose in his hair and it will make his hair look good

Good luck!
Was the topical solution messy and difficult because you had long hair?
Great question… no medium kept at 1” on top. It’s just how big an area and how tedious you want to be. Day in day out 365 real pia for me
I have thinning all around too and I’m afraid that a topical solution would make my hair look greasy and thinner since it would make them clump together. I in fact wash my hair everyday just to prevent oily hair making my hair look thinner. Do you apply the solution at night only and wash it off in the morning?
@@nebula1863 I've started topical solution and you're right but it dries out after 30 minutes
Yes seems like less risk since there is less systemic exposure
Topical Finasteride caused me permanent damage to the genital tissue. Don't even think about trying it. Hims is a devil company with no remorse for their victims.
I'd urge you all to be careful.
Tried MIN Foam 5% on its own for about 2 months last year.
Got chest pains and depression.
It's supposed to flush out of the system about 4 days from stopping.
Yet it took a good 3 weeks to get back to normal.
Saw some aging effects too.
Be careful guys...
what was your dosing schedule? did you put it anywhere else besides your head?
@@3ndoku5h Only my head and only applied once a day
Stfu man you cannot age in 3 weeks stop bullshitting people
What are your thoughts on there new 3-in-1 Rx hair loss chews??
I’ve had a receding hairline since I was 17 I’ve tried a different product before I really hope Hims works
Can you explain why men taking topical hims is bad if your wife is pregnant? I could understand while trying but if they are already pregnant?
Which concentration of finasteride in spray form is best? I suspect the higher concentration but if the results are comparable I’ll opt for the minimum effective dose so as to mitigate against side effects
Also, I’m microneedling.
This happen to me also so I switched to keeps oral finasteride and minoxidil all of the hair was shedding came back and more

"Mans"? Who talks like this?
Thank you.
Yes you can use with dhea supplement to minimise the side effects and check ur testosterone total and estradiol every 3 month
Good video great information thanks 👍👍👍💜
I just received the HIMS topical spray today. I still have a full head of hair, and haven’t noticed any shedding. But when my hair is wet, it looks like i can see more scalp than i used to. So we’ll see. Does anyone have experience with the warning that the new hair may grow in differently than your existing hair? What does this mean? 😳🤨
Your hair is gonna look less dense when it’s wet because it clumps together more so there’s more gaps to your scalp.
@@keanandarnell8709 lol. I get that. I’ve seen my own self with wet hair everyday for my whole life. I only started seeing more scalp in the last few years when my hair is the same degree of wet. 🤣
Hey, have you noticed any noticeable shedding since using? I know its been a week or so since you commented but just curious
@@dgevox6941 Nope.
How long did it take for them to ship it to you after they approved you ? They approved me but they haven’t shipped it yet
What about more hair on the body with the pill vs the spray?
Do you use any? If so, which do you use or which do you recommend?
If the hair loss due to low calorie eating disorder,covid19,low thyroid will it fall when we stop using it?
Any gains you make with minoxidil or finasteride will be lost if you stop taking them. You will gradually be sent back to where you started before you took it. However, if you resolved the issue of the hair loss due to unhealthy eating or COVID while you were taking minoxidil and/or finasteride, your hair will probably be a bit better than before you started taking them. I hope this makes sense and helped you out.
Hey brother, does the hims combo spray work for beards too?
Beard hair is not negatively affected by DHT on the contrary it is stimulated by it so I recommend not using any Fin only Mon if needed

is there also a finasteride oil?
any advice for using minox with long hair. I just find minox too greasy. Is there any non greasy minox on the market?
Have you tried the foam versions?

Is there a Finasteride spray or foam available in the market?

Yes. Hims foam

Hi doctor
What will happen if we discontinue the use? Will the hair fall starts again?
Unfortunately, yes. Any gains you make with it will start to fall out gradually until you re where you started.

Does min work on the hairline that shredded 2-3 months ago?
@@NaregChakhbasianso don’t stop using it then
So is this product worth getting?
yes if you're early in hair-loss. worth testing for 6 months if you have sustainable hairloss but peach fuzz in the balding areas.
I have a happy head Fin. 0.3%, Min. 8% (Happy Head Finasteride Liposomal) perscription does anyone know what that equates to if i were to take an oral fin equivalent?
Talking this product what are the side affects ? When it comes to Libido ??????
I'm using a topical solution containing 0.1% minoxidil and 0.1% finesteride, you think it'll be effective in promoting beard growth? I do have a little hair and somewhat dense french-cut like beard, but I'm using this solution (Densita MF) to aid in beard growth, you think this combination of this 0.1% concentration is going to be effective?
I'm not using it to treat baldness, I'm not going bald yet
I’m so scared to try this I don’t want the side affects and chemicals
Can minoxidil 5% & finasteride is grow for beard
I don't know about finasteride, but I've used minoxidil 5% for the beard, everyday for 3 months, and seen very good results. It's still not completely full but if I trim it right, it gives the impression of a fuller beard. You can expect some shedding when you stop applying minox, but when the air has become black, it won't fall off. It's only the hairs that grew but aren't black yet that will fall off if stop applying minox. You should go for it!
on oral fin my test levels are 1500+ I'm hoping it's lower on the spray
I have been using the hims spray minoxidil and finastride mix for 3 months and my hairline looks worse 😢
I've heard for some people it could take like 6 months to a year
That means it's working. You are in the shedding phase, where the weak hairs are being replaced with stronger ones.
Called shedding phase .. it’s on its way
You may also want to look up SYLFIRM microneedling (only 1.5 “ deep) used with topical Exosomes.

Btw- Do you have any information on the safety and efficacy of microneedling(stamp) the finasteride & minoxidil into the scalp? 🤔

So im quite unsure if one i stop using minoxidil, then the hair grown will fall off
Same my hairline is perfectly intact but the top of my scalp is thinning fast
Very common. Topical and oral are still a remedy. Check to make sure you don't have Jada Pinkett Smith disease first
Diffuse thinning vs. Male patter
Im 49 now so according to the advice on the packaging I'm now too old for minoxidil
Why is 2.5 % of finasteride the most common topical finasteride is that the equivalent to 1mg Oral finasteride or more ?
The authors of this study, noted that “Although there is decreased absorption of topical FNS compared to oral, a decrease in plasma DHT levels after one week of treatment with either topical or oral formulations. “
