Life changing music. This live show was the first one I ever saw of the band from my small town in CT. My friend had the laser disc and watched it at his house. I was speechless. Still am. The roar of the crowd chanting and singing from the get go always gives me goosebumps. Legend. And Barrowland as well. This is musical nirvana.
I first saw this in US on MTV. They aired it not too long after the show (amazing by today's standards). I was in high school, a hardcore punk rocker. But I had recently heard IABC and bought the Crossing. I watched on MTV with a friend and we were F-ing blown away. When MTV re-aired it, I recorded it on VHS at the house of my parents' friends (we didn't own a video reorder). I would go there and re-watch over and over... I became obsessed with BC. I would go back in time in a flash for this.
One of the very best gigs i ever went to...Rock City Nottingham...84?...danced on the front row exuberantly joyfully and full of passion...will never forget...Stuart RIP AND THANK YOU❤😊
when the crowd are up for it like that, there aint nowhere else like Barrowlands. I saw The Mission there in 1989 and it was one of the most mental nights ever ever had. Fabulous venue.
It looks so real ! Almost like you are there ! 41 years ago ! How is that possible !? Bruce is an absolute engine ! He never stops playing. All those intricate and counter intuitive runs he plays ! (On a side note, does anyone know why Stuart swapped SG-2000's mid Fields of Fire, and then swapped it back for Harvest Home immediately after ? It sounded in tune, no strings were broken.)
Good catch. It does sound a little more in tune after the switch. If you listen to the last set of lead riffs he plays before the switch, it does start sounding slightly "off". Judging by Stuart's expression, he noticed it slightly before I could start hearing it.
Absolutely brilliant. Saw them in '83, supporting U2, supported by The Alarm. What a great band they were live. Brings it all back. Thanks for this superb video
Fantastic. Like a fresh venue from one day ago. And timing perfect. This BC soundtrack allways played while driving through half of Norway, 900 km, singing out loud in the car on my way to celebrate Xmas and NYE with family. Thank You So Much & A Happy New Year !
I was 15 when this was happening, I was too young to be there but I loved this band. I would now happily give up my house, my car and my pension to be in that crowd during Lost Patrol 🥰
Quality on this is unreal Best gig ever Never seen them until just over 2 years later but for me this is them at their very best Raw energetic and loud Stay Alive 😢
Wow thanks for posting the picture quality looks so much clearer I must say & it's good to watch some film footage taken from the actual Crossing tour back in 1983" I Just wished they also filmed the actual London Hammersmith Odeon show as well in it's full glory in which you can see parts of it in a documentary with BC + Interviews in which I forgot the name of now 🤔 ? From what I remember.
A special band, in a homeland venue, at a distinctly Scottish time of year. The event itself brought the energy of, “The Crossing” with the MkII line-up at its high plateau of performance. The additional Pipe Band showing how tradition and customs of the common folk were at the heart of Stuart and the band’s sound and songs. The professional camera angles and sound make this viewing even more of delight, and no lighters or mobile phones (‘83!) to distract the eye from a crowd fully enjoying themselves. Thanks Andy for the quality upload, new generations of fans need to feel the passion that BC shared with their audience.
Saw them in Dublin opening for Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Drummer took ill halfway through the first song so they grabbed acoustic guitars and busked the rest of the set. Took requests too.
Wow, wow, wow and WOW 😊 Thank you so much Alan, for the work you have done on this. Absolutely and utterly amazing ❤ And, thank you, Andy, for sharing it 🥰🤗❤️
I'm 56 ! live in Argentina. Never had the chance to see Stauart live, but I followed him since I discovered In a big country at the radio in the 80'. Since then Im a terrible fan of him and the BC band, even my children still hears them. This music is an amazing company and always will be. !!

@@digidrum2003 There was nothing more exciting back in the day than putting this VHS into the player and watching it on a small screen with a crappy television speaker. 😂 Look at where we are now with vision and sound but back then, nothing beat those days. Stay alive!
@@BC1000StarsThat’s a real shame as they were an amazing band on stage but also humble and had time for their fans. No big security guards , bouncers, egos, etc, just normal guys that gelled as a band .

Weren't they just wonderful? Tight as hell, drummer with a great 'bounce' to his technique, an all round well-oiled machine, great crowd energy.
