Stuart resurrected the sound of the guitar again… it was dead and buried along with progressive rock… and that was re born again also.. thanks to big country.. they never skipped a beat during live performances… he was a true musical rock genius.. and a good soul…. Met him and Sandra twice… miss the man along with many more who got too see big country in there heys days early 80s.. not one bad track on the crossing.. they were a live band first and foremost.. and they loved doing crossing the whole counrty of the u.k hard tour that I bet.. many a first..
I was lucky enough to.meet stuart 3 times after gigs .such a gentleman and thankful for following Big country. They say never meet your hero u might he disappointed .not with stuart my only regret I only seen them 7 times with stuart and it was not enough 😘🙃
What about the rangers I said to him at the sound check Glasgow Apollo.. I was working security…. He was with Sandra.. she waving her hands and miming behind him while I showed him my skids and big country tattoo.. like don,t get him started on that subject.. he said too me am a prodded but prepare Celtic… I siad ohhfft.. he was one of my hero’s and still is.. he did the full crossing track that sound check still ringing in my ears today.. tremendous to say the least.. then I worked the full concert later.. seen them twice Apollo and many other joints… but man the Apollo for sound the best of them all… bar coatham bowl redcar England support band there the icicle works a double whammy gig… awesome Ian mcnabb
