- The Greatness about BRIAN LARA is that - he will make people say that " WOW! WE WILL NOT SEE THIS TYPE OF BATTING AGAIN.
Also in Test Cricket - Brian Lara is a Clear Winner over Sachin as His test record speaks - 9 doubles and 20 scores over 150 - And More importantly all those Huge Centuries are Under GREAT PRESSURE and also how he scored his Hundreds - With GREAT GREAT DOMINATION. Every single minute he loks to Dominate Bowlers. Greatest attitude that.
I am proud that I born in a BRIAN LARA ERA.
The straight drive was one of the most elegant one I’ve ever seen.😍truly a genius
When I was very young, I used to think "why does this guy always dance before hitting the ball" . But now I understand how the backlift actually helps him to get so much time to hit the ball. On top of that, his sheer brilliance to find the gaps all round the park is a treat to watch!!
Your thought process and speech is one worthy of a genius!!
what a straight drive 1:28 straight form the heaven
if Lara was born in India, he would have been praised and appreciated more than sachin and perhaps, had the most number of fans than anyone else for sure....
john samuel lol
John Samuel, Sachin was better because of variety of shots, consistency, strike rate and many reasons. In test match where Lara surpasses Sachin is his two innings of 375 and 400 but Sachin was more consistent.
Sachin played 200 test matches and had an average of 53.7 Lara played 131 matches and had an average of 52.8 he was not inconsistent by any means both of them are great in their own right and had to face top quality bowlers unlike the current generation and don't forget Lara scored 9 double centuries but i have to agree that Lara didn't get the appreciation he deserved
If lara was born in india ,he wud never score 400 or 375, bcoz there r no benign flat tracks like st johns, yes he wud score 100 or 200
Bcoz reverse swing and spin wud trouble batsmen most in india
Lara always chased world records, sachin always wanted to score 100 for himself ,may be both liked the stats and numbers
ajmal1993 r: But don't you think, despite not guaranteeing a win, chasing a 'world record' or a '100' may help prevent a loss? That still counts na?
the elbow, batting stance, movement just before the delivery, high bat lift, bat grip, timing of the ball....
exotic in each and every way..
Jayishnupaul 90 absolutely 👍👍
Lara is the most natural gifted cricket player ever period .
Absolutely and majestically well said!
And lot more pleasing to the eye than Tendulkar
@@s23988 Tendulkar subcontinent flat track bully always failed in big matches and in pressure situations.
Look at stright drive
Can't really disagree, I'd only add that Sobers might be a contender.
Brian lara is a true genius , His test innings have always come under pressure carrying a hopeless team on his shoulders for so many years. Wish he played for few more years .
Like you can actually tell the difference...,, poor fanatic cricket fans...!
always under pressure. I reckon only that 1999 series vs Aus in WI
I agree with you hundred percent right
gotim series against srilanka in 99-00.
Yeah. I remember 3 test match series in SL where Lara alone scored 600+ runs in the series but still WI lost by 3-0
That straight drive to start preceedings is like watching a federer forehand sooooooo classy!
So pretty to watch! I can only imagine what Sir Garfield looked like playing his strokes. God bless both.
The first straight drive. Superb
If Lara was playing today against any country, I would book a seat just to watch his master class batting!!! Genius
Last week he was playing against Nicobar XI.
😜😜😜
@@Seventh_Fail_hai_Wodi He came to NY last week :D
Whenever we talk about Lara, of all the accolades that we can bestow on him, let us never forget that he played the game fair. He never nicked the ball and wait for the umpire, he always walked. Sadly we live in a world where FairPlay doesn’t mean much. Brian Charles is an unparalleled batting genius who played the game with total honesty.
Talent wise he's unmatched. His only modern comparrison is VI Richards. The difference between the two is GUTS. Some fast bowlers have bullied Lara; no one bullies Richards. Thsts why he's the 2nd bedt WI bstsman
@@richardharris1664 Lara faced better bowlers than Richards.......
@@fabianscantlebury5793 Richards only had to face the WI greats in the nets. Otherwise it was just Lillee, Thomson, Hadlee, Khan, Akram.
It isn't necessary to bring Sachin Tendulkar into every Brian Lara video for good sake. Just appreciate this man's stroke play...
Yes it is Sachin got so many runs blah blah who f---ing cares. Brian created memories that will live on of game winning brilliance. One after the other while Sachin just contributed to his team's score
LOL, nwo is that typical hater.
I don't hate Sachin at all he just didn't capture my imagination. Allen border got how many runs but you may as well watch paint dry. vvs on the other hand I could watch all day his 281 I think or something like that is probably still gives Shane the odd nightmare
Exactly! This is so annoying! Both are equally good!
P.Sai Hari krishna Brian lol
A Lara lofted cover drive is sublime to watch
truly...the greatest test batsman of the modern era!!
You can't compare his style of anyone ever truly magically gorgeous batsman
The entertaining test batsman of all time
Awesome backlift.... Graceful bat flow... Beautiful timing.... He turns you into a cricket fanatic..... LARA
So true!
Straight Drive at 1:45 is just like one of Tendulkar batting left handedly . Absolutely magnificent
Sachin might be "God" in India, but Lara is "Him" in the rest of the world.
what a beauty to watch
People would still pay to watch his stroke plays. No one ever come close to Lara.
First straight drive. Perfect.
Love brian lara love west indes love from amritsar india
I am a great fan of sachin tendulkar....! but, Brain lara is one, which cant be replaced or can never ever be compared by anyone in world..! he is one of his own kind...) Absolutely a delight to watch:) god bless Sachin and Brain both...:)
Sachin and Lara were the best batsman of there era nobody came within in a 100 miles of these 2 phenomenal batsmen
@rahul pavan.... lol
@rahul pavan... good
No tendulkar is better
Psycho Man no no Lara is on his own as number 1 sachin can't come close. U must be a lundian
The Most graceful stroke of all time Brian Charles Lara the best batting style in the history of cricket
Indeed!
@@TheTredoc absolutely right mate
@@MegaNarsinha Yeahman. One love!
ONE OF THE GREATS OF CRICKET..💪💪
His Stance is so Ellegant and Beautiful 😍😍😍....
Sachin was solid
But Lara was Beautiful
put more of his batting than someone talking about him ... he doesn't need any introduction... his bat speaks for himself ...
Im Aussie and Brian was the only player who could beat them by himself when he decided he wished to. I would cheer the West Indies on and hope for there victory purely because of him. He had flare, presence and magic that made any feeling of loyalty to country a none issue compared to himself. No one else even comes close
LOL, his 153*. I also think he played so many other innings which defeated Aus. I dont recall, name the others.
aman gajraj , several one dayers in the old tri series. There was won at the waca I think where the run rate got to 9 or10 the he just cut lose
Loose*
In the same test series as the 153 he got 212 to set up win. To comeback so strong after they got bowled out for like 60 odd both innings of the first test
He may not of pulled off win every time but ask yourself put him in alongside dravid, laxman and sewag does india lose ?
That straight drive is so pleasing on the eye. This drive of Lara even left Tendulkar's straight drive behind.
Absolutely!
LOL i think u did not see sachin's cover drive carefully
Batting magician
He's the god of batting a cricket just look at those shots omg🏆
why always compare the greats, aren't they all are great in their own ways
Well said man, just like in case of Lara and Tendulkar, one was more classy other was more consistent.
Man you really enjoy cricket....these legends are entertainers and have helped sustain and progress the baton from there predecessors. So it is better to respect them not compare and belittle them.
@@muhammadummar7800 absolutely right...but in test cricket Lara was dangerous...
because it is mainly Indians who start the argument! It is apparently impossible for them to accept anybody is better than their player so they hijack every comment session to prove their point.
The only way to escape it is to avoid the comments which is a shame becasue much of the joy comes from the discussion...but not with that type of supporter.
@@TheJonkerr7 I can't say about all Indians but my all time favorite team is 90s Pakistan, Favorite bowler is Waqar and favorite batsman is Sachin that's why I replied to a comment targeting Sachin. I only boast about the master coz he was the best in every situation, every format, every condition for 20+ years. I will never boast about the other ten clowns whom he bore for 11 years which allowed idiots to accuse him of not winning enough matches. His 136 with a sore back against pak at Chennai was one example of his numerous lone warrior innings which went to vain in 90s. Only post 00 under Dada he tasted wins with help of legends like Dravid, Dada, Bhaji, yuvi, Sehwag, VVS, zaheer, Dhoni and others..
Facing and surviving fireballs by Akram, Waqar, Khan at 16,winning The golden bat at 23 and 30
Winning an orange cap at 37 and a wc at 38 , Scoring most runs across formats at home and away is not everyone's cup of tea.

So was saeed anwar
One hundred percent because of him i love Cricket
It is incredible how this WI team kept loosing despite having Lara, sarwan, Chanderpaul and Gayle with the bay and a decent Bowling attack.
Both great batsman but Lara on his day absolute genius and hurt the opposition buy scoring big and quick and made the game look easy that's why I have Lara ahead of sachin
U fun chutiya come to me I will ur ads and teach cricket
Brian Charles Lara's batting was absolute magic.
Its really a pleasure to watch him play. Once he settles in the crease, he makes every bowler look like a kid bowling to him.
Indeed!!
i think Brian is the best player in the world . Never ever replace brian with anybody.
Left hand legend
sachin better across all formats, amazing record. But I do place him above Sachin in tests. It's just an opinion. Both amazing.
stuiep1983. Test are all that matters and vvs and Dravid both have Sachin covered when the pressure is on backs to the wall
stuiep1983 like Smith and Kohli
Dravid averaged a subpar 38 in 3rd innings when India conceded lead in 1st innings. Sachin averaged 60 in 3rd innings. But but but better pressure player dravid. Loool
That straight drive is orgasmic. Fucking beautiful!
the most stylish player in cricket history ever.
Exactly!!!
is there anything more beautiful in cricket than brian Lara playing an executive cover drive??
Love just love the commentry
Where is Ramnaresh sarwan these days, he and chanderpaul truly accompany Lara in his endeavours, these two were also great players,
Alot of issues between sarwan and the cricket board forced him out of the game, shame, but he is now a successful entrepreneur and a family man
@@nick0tiger sarwan is very very underrated from west indies.
I adore the back lift....I'd marry the back lift if I could. What class act this man has been.
Technique timing placement brilliant
Amongst the very best of a straight drive is captured in this video!
Lara .... Poetry of batting
Poetry of batting.. well said.. Lara is Shakespeare of batting
when he is in full swing,an absolute delight to the eyes.
England is celebrating like they've won the Series/game after getting Lara out...lol
I wonder if sachin had broken the world record twice, how would his fans b comparing him to brian lara
Greatest ever
Allan Donald talks abt Sachin ,Lara ,Steve waugh in an interview in 2009 ,
I had been watching Sachin Tendulkar on and off before we (South Africa) were readmitted in 1991.
Everything about him is just so exceptional. He is wonderful technically and he has everything - class, speed, all the shots, and he is cool under pressure. Cricketers always talk about his amazing balance, even the Aussies. I've seen tapes of Sunil Gavaskar and if you split the screen between him and Tendulkar, they look virtually identical. I have never seen a man with such immaculate balance - it is freakish.
People go to a Test match just to watch Tendulkar. I, for one, would rather watch him than bowl against him. Actually, I'm glad I'll never have to bowl to him in a Test match again, though I've been quite successful against him. He is No. 1 in my book - the best player I have ever had the privilege of bowling to. There's Steve Waugh and there's Brian Lara, who was wonderful in 1995, but Tendulkar is a class above, consistently special.
The best knock I can remember him playing was at Newlands in 1997, when he was just unstoppable. We only got him thanks to a blinding catch by Adam Bacher off a hook shot, otherwise he would have gone on and on.
Under Hansie Cronje we studied hard for a Tendulkar weakness. We thought he might be vulnerable, especially early in his innings, to the ball that is bowled from wide of the crease, coming back in off a good length. He might then be bowled through the gate, or be lbw, especially on English wickets. We also tried peppering him with short balls - not many top-class batters like that - but it didn't really seem to bother him. The one thing that might rattle him is being restricted. He loves scoring, and scoring quickly, and if he is frustrated, sometimes he goes out and looks for the big shot.
I don't think he really gets rattled by sledging. Glenn McGrath tried it and Tendulkar just kept running at him and hitting him back over his head for four. I think that, like Steve Waugh, sledging just makes him more focused: I don't think it is a good idea to have a word.
Tendulkar is already a legend so I'm not sure how he'll be remembered - what comes after legend? . He's the best in the world, one of the most magnificent players there's ever been. He's also a nice guy, a soft-hearted bloke who gives 110% and just loves playing cricket.
Brilliant stuff
Viv Richards, Lara and Kohli were/are all superior batsmen than Sachin.
LMAO
asrao316
Ya how can an Indian be a better batsman 😂😂
Nonsense
Sachin was the best.
Kholi 😂😂
Brian Lara is better than every batsman in the world,
I remember a match in Sharjah when basit Ali scored 120 odd and walked down the pitch to tonk Ambrose for six more than once ... Didn't feel there was anyway Pakistan could lose.
But then came Lara and treated Wasim and waqar as if they were debashish mohanty and Abhay kuruvilla wtf .... What an innings that was
what a straight drive
That sound when the ball hits the bat .. amazing middle of the bat.. genius!!!!
Laura greatest player!
It's like listening Mozart !!
Lara is more stylish & flamboyant
Tendulkar is classy to watch
a joy to watch. a gift from God.
Lara such a amazing player world stylish i am big fan of lara
He is not only cricketer he is a artist he seems a great dancer when he was playing and his innings was like a good melodious songs......great brriliant stylish lara
ya zindagi his bat is his brush, the ball his paint, and the pitch his canvas
Killing stroking styles. A true legend.
TENDULKAR IS VERY GOOD BATTSMAN NO DOUBT ..............but lara.......LARA in top position among 1990 to 2016 all battsman.
straight drive....classic.....😍
it´s so sad that everybody gets old. I wish that some people like Brian wouldn´t get old... :(
Every shot with straight bat.
Stylish prince so humble down to earth !!lara ke Kareeb koi nahi
lara is stylish batsman
One thing is sure and that is lara and tendukar are the two greatest batsmen in recent times
Yupp in last 30 years.
If you were trying to play for a draw, then Tendulkar is your man, but if you are going for the win, then Lara is the one. Enough said.
@@rajbalrampersad3092 absolutely right about that
Ponting also
He is definitely the most exciting ,beautiful ,elegant best batsman ever !!!!not one anywhere close
VK is more like this legend, genuine match winner who fights for team till the last
When did he fight in ICC knocks against Bangladesh, Aus in 2015. Scored 1(13), 3(6). Scored 2 against Pak in 2011 WC semifinal. Failed against Aus in 2011 WC qf. Failed against Pak in CT final. Dont compare him with Lara.
😂😂😂
Brian Lara, the Greatest batsman ever in cricket
Oh how I miss that channel 4 intro
No disrespect to Sachin. But Lara was way better than him..
chutads like u have no brain
its always fun to watch him bat.
Brian Lara 🙏🙏🙏🙏 you would never get bored watching his videos again and again. What a legend he is..... Wish if he would have got partners like Dravid and Laxman in his team then we would have witnessed more match winning centuries from Brian Lara... Most of his runs were scored under pressure but unfortunately lost most of them because of the hopeless batsmen and bowlers in the team (2000 - till he retired)
So beautiful, could watch B.C Lara all day
The cricket ball was so devoted to Lara's bat, maybe because of how he caresses it.
Lara was a class act as the range of strokes he possesses is something great. The match winning innings that Lara played at Barbados in 1999 was truly amazing. Sachin could never have dreamt of doing something like that.
Rohan Satelkar ... pichi pulka he did against the great pak bowling in 99 the greatest arch rival ,,, but bad luck n injury spoiled his efforts... otherwise wat an innings that was ....
Lara cudnt dream of consistency. Allan Donald : Consistency is the factor that makes Tendulkar special. He is often spoken about in the same breath as Brian Lara, but as far as I am concerned, the comparison does not even begin. Lara is not half as consistent as Tendulkar and lacks the discipline of the latter. The left-hander plays in a more loose manner and is not that controlled or patient during the first 20 minutes of his innings. Lara was unbelievable in 1994, but he has never been able to recreate that magic consistently after that.
Which is why I rate my dismissal of Tendulkar at Durban in 1996 as the best ball I've eve
that one innings wont make him the greatest ever.
lets talk about odi test both sachin was dad of your LARA
It only took the first straight drive of the video to liked it.
Mambo No-5 in the background!!
What timer of the ball The Lara
I don't care what anyone says Lara is the best batting genius I've ever seen. He did things you can't coach just pure genius at work, closest thing to him was KP, fantastic player!
Lara!!! Just lara.. no one else.
amit barjatya
When this guy is roaring like a Tiger... opposition just find their way to watch and admire the class😎
Brian Lara the classic batsman. Lots of love from Mohali Punjab India ❤️🌷👍🏿
SRT gets all the superlatives.- highest aggregate, most test tons, most ODI tons, etc. But, BCL is just magnificent - array of majestic strokes, that swagger, the finesse, etc! Don't forget, only Sir Donald has more double tons than he...
When Lara and Tendulkar, two of the greatest batsmen of all time have acknowledged each other's talent and have immense respect for each other i dont know why the fans of these two great players always belittle them and their talent.
Coming back to the video,Lara was a class act.
Rohan Fernandes. Because Sachins fans refuse to all anyone to say or consider that he's not the goat plain and simply
why is he not GOAT?? just because Lara had freak attractive looking shots?? Had big attractive test scores which resulted in 14 losses nd 12 draws with Ambrose, Walsh and Bishop on his side till 2000. Just because someone likes his flamboyant attractive strokes doesnt make him the best. Where was he in WCs for his side?? Got out on duck 20 times in his 131 test career..suffered with loads of inconsistency. Flopped in the entire test series against Eng 2004 at his peak..getting out on ducks two times. Flopped in 7 innings and then made 400, the innings which even Ricy Ponting termed slefish. His own team mate Ridley Jacobs called him selfish. U want destroyers in tests?? Sehwag is the ultimate destoyer.has got big scores in test cricket..two triple hundreds and 4 double hndreds and a SR of 82 and an average of 50 after 110 tests. U kidding me?..he is father of destruction in tests, but do we Indians term him the best in tests?? No, right? ..www.espncricinfo.com/westindies/content/story/208591.html "Jacobs slams 'selfish' Lara"
Lara had four 50 plus test scores in Aus against Mcgrath and company in 27 innings including 10 single digit scores and 3 ducks. Fact is he averaged in early 30s for 2 years and critics were after him like hell. Its good he always made these big attractive scores quickly..a guy with such big scores must be averaging 60 plus in 131 tests but averages 51..because he had many low points. Talk about the series where he made 400. Other 7 innings of that series he totally flopped. But then came up with that majestic 400*. It was like this. He had 3 single digit scores in those 7 innings with 2 ducks. He had 20 ducks in his 131 test career. He made attractive scores along with so many sub par performances. He was an enigma. I dont think anyone can be like Lara in future. He had the most attractive batting style ever. Was Hit and miss. When he hit.. try saving your souls.
Most attractive? Yes. Flamboyant? Yes. Mix bag with lots of lows and attractive highs. Hit and miss kind of guys are the not the best ever. Most complete and best ever?? NO.
Genius batting champion batsman
I am from Pakistan & have a craze of Cricket.
Pakistan Also had history of some good players like Miandad Anwer Inzamam,
But We cannot compere any batsman with
Brian Charles Lara.
Lara was a equally best player against spin as he was against fast bowling,
It's doesn't matter He was playing in Asia,Australia,UK,or at Home.,
Always performed.
At other hand
Sachin & some others players was going through the conditions,
They were scoring in Asia , but at turning or bouncy wickets getting failed.
And Australian & English batsman always suffered against spin,
But Lara was equally played against both situations.
What a joke of a comment LoL 😂😂 Sachin has the highest average of any subcontinent batsman and most runs by an overseas batsman in SA. He averaged 40+ in every test playing nation unlike Lara who doesn't even have a test hundred in India. Get over your hate for Sachin.
Lara is the best there is , best there was , and the best there ever will be
Lara greatest batsman evr no one in contest wd him...nevr played for records..like others.
I want this video in 1080p full HD quality.
