Putting on a costume and memorizing lines is not all that an actor does. Learn how to be memorable by following these steps.
Step 1: Study different kinds of people
Study different kinds of people. Learn their mannerisms, their speech patterns, and their postures.
Step 2: Act out different characters
Stand in front of a mirror and act out different characters, paying close attention to facial expressions, gestures, and speaking styles. Incorporate as many emotions into each character as possible.
Tip
People express similar emotions in different ways. Knowing how to express the same emotion differently is a great asset at auditions.
Step 3: Learn to interact
Learn to interact and communicate with different types of people.
Step 4: Follow directions
Follow directions as given. Improvisation is great if the director has called for it; otherwise it is an unwelcome addition to a director’s goal.
Step 5: Memorize and practice your lines
Memorize all of your lines as written. Practice them in front of a mirror and rehearse with a friend or family member.
Tip
The most memorable characters are ones that the audience can relate to and empathize with, so be real.
Step 6: Be confident and composed
Be confident and composed. Casting directors and agents remember actors who have a polished look and self-esteem.
Step 7: Learn to speak without overacting
Learn how to speak your lines without overacting. Deliver your lines like you would normally speak in that situation, pauses, stuttering, and all.
Step 8: Keep your eyes away from the audience or camera
Keep your eyes away from the audience or the camera unless the script directs you to do otherwise.

The first woman to own a major television production studio was Lucille Ball, who bought it from her ex-husband in 1962. - Навчання та стиль
Lol don't try to "act", just listen and react. Bam!!!
Probably the best advice I've heard all my life LOL
Acually if you're a lead you need to be conveying your character and I've been in theater 8 years of my life and I've been taking acting classes for 4 years of my life
And you want to get a great performance lead or ensemble and if you're in the ensemble again don't just listen and react and when you have to react know how you're going to react and facial expressions are golden
YOU'RE A IDIOT.
lol
Ok Hollywood I’m coming!
Who Just Watched This Vid Cuz You Don't Have The Time To Watch The Others?
Me😂😂
Thanks for sharing these great tips and suggestions! We agree and try to teach our actors to do their best.
I’m trying out for disney
sure, because research never helped anyone right?
Don't be afraid to put some questions out there and if you'll have the opportunity to ask any successful actor how they did it; you'll see that talent only gets you to a point. After there is study and learning; perseverance and determination; things you train yourself into. They don't come naturally.
And btw; you must have experienced a lot if you are speaking on behalf of "ANY' actor at "ANY" age. Excuse me for being skeptical...
If you're a lead in a show don't do it as yourself NO you need to become that character. Behind the scenes do some research on your character
If you're in the ensemble do some character development yourself why are you walking across the stage? What's your backstory? What is your relationship to the leads
aha, method acting. my favorite.
hmmmm. study people - yes. I definitely don't recommend acting in front of a mirror. that's a great way to become self-conscious and will put you in your head. yes, follow directions. yes, memorize (again no mirrors)! I would suggest studying the scene and doing lots of technical work.
0:17 his face...oh lord
I get your point, and I know where you're coming from, but I'm saying there are some things that have to come naturally. For example, some people can train and train and train but no matter how hard they try, they can't sing very well. That's not to say that some people have iffy singing talent but can't perfect it by using teachers. Same goes for acting. I'm not saying that help is TOTALLY worthless.
Alright, what you really need to do is learn your lines so well you can forget them and remember them in your scene, this will make you actually go into your character and you’ll really be there in your scene
Well you do need to overreact if you are on a stage or the people at the back will not see it
Ella la la Not really,IMHO.
i want to do a slenderman role.
how do i copy facial expressions of someone
who has no face?
Idk if you are joking or talking seriously
You must be famous by now
In short, don't act. Be. Be in the story, be your character, then feel how you actually feel and express those feelings.
@Freestyleforcerer or confidence
In an unrelated note, at 1:28 , the audio had a bass that sounded like Ice Ice Baby.

i peforming a play at school and auditioning and non of this helped howcast really needs to learn to relate to diffrent ages.
MAPOTI
forever alone
John cena this video for you
+TyBear Alexander Knight lol
Well thats why Bruce Wayne cant act
This doesn't work for ANY actors from any age range. I tried using this once and totally screwed up my audition. The next audition I just did what I felt was normal and I aced it, landing me the lead role in the show. Don't listen to other people. Acting is something that comes naturally. If you have to go on youtube to see how to be an actor, acting isn't for you. Period.
o m g this video is so quirky
Step 9) go get a real job...you aren't going to make any money acting.
