For me, it's a toss up between that line, and the "they call me mad, when all I want to do is create the perfect genetic soldier and conquer the world" speech.
The line is fucking brutal and beyond dismissive. Delivered fantastic by a legendary actor. Honestly for the films faults, it has some excellent moments.
And the fact he did while dying of cancer, he really had fun. Kind of sad given he only just got recognition in english speaking films, still the best gomez.
Raul Julia played the role for his kids knowing this was going to be his last performance. And unlike certain someone, he actually helped the cast to do this herculean task of a movie. What a nice guy, even in the face of death and shittyness.

I actually like that film, mostly because it taught me what "It's so bad it's good" means. Plus I love why Raul Julia took the role, he was dying of cancer at the time so he accepted the role so his kids could get a free holiday (It was mostly shot in Australia I think), they also got to watch their their dad in the most OTT performance of his life and having fun doing the thing that he loved rather than waste away in a hospital bed.
Can we just say the "But for me it was Tuesday" lines is one of the best conceived villain lines in all of cinema. It's just so memorable in how it conveys the life of casual villainy. That after a certain point the bad things you've done blend together, and are as unremarkable as brushing your teeth. I think most audiences are used to the idea of the villain at least topically knowing who the hero is and what his motives are, but the idea that the villain has done this song and dance so many times that they can't be bothered to remember everyone they've victimized is a fun idea.
I prefer the line in the anime: "Yes, yes, I killed your father. What is it with you women anyway? I killed my father too, and you don't hear me whining about it!"
That scene and the scene from Billy Madison really transcend their movies. The fact we talk about those scenes and still use them in some shape or form proves they were well conceived ideas!!
This is one of those, "it's so bad, it's good", movies. As a 7 or 8 year old, this movie was the shit. As a 31 year old, it's just shit but mildly amusing. Zangief was hilarious, "quick, change the channel!"
Raul Julia brought Shakespeare to the Bronx and made a conscious decision to do a “swan song” for his children. To pull all that together while undergoing cancer treatments was a feat worthy of his amazing career. He took a comic book villain role and made it riveting. RIP to an actor who inspired generations of Latinos in the theater and films. Van Damme should have been honored to work with such a legend.

Perhaps a "Villains too stupid to win" on Fire Lord Ozai/The Fire Nation? They've got all the technology, a huge military, they've somehow still not won after a century of land and sea supremacy, and they lose to a team of preteens with thick plot armor. Some points: -They don't kill the Avatar when they catch him, even though the comet is coming in a year and they're about to wipe out the Northern Water Tribe. At worst there's a baby Avatar out there somewhere, giving them 15 years to finish their enemies off. -They pour money into a giant drill in a battle against *earthbenders*. All it took to stop the drill was tunnel under it. Or let it pass through the wall and fill it in afterwards -They had dragons when the war began and chose to hunt them to extinction instead of weaponize them -Ozai is more obsessed with genocide than he is with rule. Judging by the Colonies and the Fire Nation, the average Colonial has a far higher standard of living than the average EK peasant. -They allow the rightful claimant to the throne to go off on a world tour with another rightful claimant to the throne. This is setting up for a civil war, or a coup. Need I provide more?
Seconded. He also fills the villain cliché, as seen here, of obsessing over a single combat duel with the Avatar just so we can have a "final boss battle." Even the Fire Nation propaganda depicted and foreshadowed this battle. This despite Ozai having no experience using his new powers, no clear plan of attack other than "shoot fire at the Avatar," and no backup plan in case he screwed up and lost.
1 - they didn't have all the technology when the war first started, that developed over time. the earth kingdom and north water tribe were very strong. also they used the first comet to destroy the air nomads. the world is also very dangerous, especially the land of the earth kingdom, it is full of deserts and mountains and monsters. 2 - capturing the avatar was done for propaganda purposes. it is the avatar, they had to put everyone against him first. 3 - they tried to invade ba-sing-se before and failed. the drill was destroyed by sneaking inside and breaking the columns with water bending. earth benders were incapable of doing this at the time. 4 - dragons disagreed with them. they were the original fire benders and also the fire nation was trying to censor its culture to create obedience. 5 - Ozai lost everything, he was also raised in a family of genocidal psychopaths and taught to value the fire nation's supremacy over even his own men. this came from the time of azuloong too. 6 - there are all sorts of people in the earth kingdom, there are tribal hunters, sand sailors, and there are very "civilized" cities as well. the same goes for the fire nation after the 100 year war, not everyone in the fire nation has a high standard of living. 7 - that's not how the fire nation's throne works, Zuko was exiled and Iroh lost his right to the throne. Azula was the next in line of succession.

The locking mechanisms have a maximum length, a deep trench on either side of the Drill will prevent it from locking -> it can't move -> the Earth Kingdom laughs at them from atop their wall. 4-Sozin's dragon didn't disagree with him. You're just saying headcanon. 5-That's not an excuse. He's still a ruler. This just means he's a foolish ruler, or an idiot. Those Colonies exist, The Promise confirms a fusion of cultures (Yu Dao). Whether they happened under Sozin (Yu Dao) or Azulon, or Ozai, there *were* people willing to live under Fire Nation rule that were not Fire Nationals by birth. 6-And the Fire Nation is the only place in the world with standardized education and a dedicated academy for women. Plus we see they have trains, aformentioned steamships, and most of all, printing presses. The next best competitor is Ba Sing Se. The Colonies themselves have cities, coastal cities (great for trade and growth) at that. We don't have statistics, but Colonials have mass metallurgy and printing presses, advances the rest of the world does not have to the same scale. This doesn't make the regime less evil, but it makes the rulers idiots for not harnassing it. 7- That's never stopped any of the countless royal claimants in real history, and why should it stop Zuko or Iroh? The only reason they don't rally support is the plot.

Yeah - the film didn’t realize make Bison seem like much of a threat: more like a wannabe Napoleon with a bunch of poorly-conceived ideas about how to dominate a modern world. I mean seriously, did he really expect to kidnap the queen of England? And why roll out your new currency *before* it has value from said kidnapping? And that assumes that the British government even agrees to the exchange rate after the kidnapping - which is unlikely to happen since the monarchy doesn’t really have power anymore! There are so many holes in this plan that there’s no way to could succeed without a lot of natural 20s being rolled in the due course of events...
Suggestion: Advanced Sci-fi Civilizations too stupid to actually exist The Sith Empire from the Kotor, Kotor 2, and Swtor era of star wars. Explanation: The Meatbags within it are a gold mine of self destruction of whose ability to actually exist is a massive "x-to doubt". Comparison: This Sci-fi civilization like the original trilogy empire but the Meatbags are uniquely awful and instead of just 2 Sith Meatbags, there are a large many of them.

Say what you want about the Street Fighter movie. As a person who isnt a major SF Fan, I love the movie. It's the most 80s movie I've ever seen. It's campy and has some great actors in it. The story is nothing to write hone about but it's just a fun ride.

I actually saw the anime version of Street Fighter before I was even aware of the movie. The anime version of M.Bison was actually good, as were the other characters. And I love the continuous use of Tuvok lines on this channel.
The crazy thing is, as bad as this movie was. As over the top and Hammy Bison was, it's still the best movie based on a Video game ever imo. Though the first Mortal Kombat movie is pretty close tie for nearly the same reasons as this one.

You know the most glaringly stupid thing done by Bison's troops? When the guy guarding Dhalsim tries to radio security and gets knocked out, and they do nothing. If YOU were manning the radio, and you heard "Security, this is-- CLANG" and then nothing, wouldn't you go into full alert? Like, they literally heard one of their comrades come over the radio, try to call security, get interrupted by an obvious attack, and then go quiet. That should have been red alert lockdown. Hell, and granted this would have been more good timing than anything, but had they gone into full alert and locked down the base, odds are Guile's attack would have failed lol.
I am actually a big fan of the streetfighter movie. Yes, I said it, so sue me. Even I will admit the movie is not without its faults. And Bison, although his over-the-top villainy does have a certain charm to it, at least in my opinion, is perhaps one of the biggest. She's egotistical, narcissistic, overconfident in his own abilities, incompetent in the execution of his plans, he continuously underestimates his enemies, although he probably did make a very excellent point about how it Ken, Ryo, Chun Li, Honda, and Balrog works together they might actually have been more successful in taking bison down instead of tripping over each other. Even some of Bison's own minions, i.e. DJ and Sagot, can see that Bison is, what did Sagot call him? Oh yes "a raving lunatic." It is doubtful that Bison would have succeeded even without the interference from Guile and the a.n., Although doubtless there would've been a lot more bloodshed and civilian casualties. A much smarter dictator would have probably paid for their guns with gold, which never loses its value, and recognized his superconductor technology into a giant EMP of some sort.

1-They had steamships, at the very least. Likely also ballistas and trebuchets. That's still technology. We don't know if the EK and NWT were "very strong", the show gives 0 insight into anyone's military strength aside from the Fire Nation being on the verge of total conquest.
2-What propaganda? The Fire Nation are the only ones who benefit from that propaganda. Sure, a dead Avatar is a martyr, but assuming they harnass the Comet again, the war ends next year.
3-You're telling me earthbenders can't tunnel underneath the drill? Or smash the locking mechanisms (the metal spikes it rams into the ground, used to propel it forward) with earthbending? All you need is to hit the locking mechanisms, which are external, with enough earth to snap it in two. Or dig trenches where the locking mechanisms will be, since the drill only moves in one direction. The locking mechanisms have a maximum length, a deep trench on either side of the Drill will prevent it from locking -> it can't move -> the Earth Kingdom laughs at them from atop their wall.

5-That's not an excuse. He's still a ruler. This just means he's a foolish ruler, or an idiot. Those Colonies exist, The Promise confirms a fusion of cultures (Yu Dao). Whether they happened under Sozin (Yu Dao) or Azulon, or Ozai, there *were* people willing to live under Fire Nation rule that were not Fire Nationals by birth.
6-And the Fire Nation is the only place in the world with standardized education and a dedicated academy for women. Plus we see they have trains, aformentioned steamships, and most of all, printing presses. The next best competitor is Ba Sing Se. The Colonies themselves have cities, coastal cities (great for trade and growth) at that. We don't have statistics, but Colonials have mass metallurgy and printing presses, advances the rest of the world does not have to the same scale. This doesn't make the regime less evil, but it makes the rulers idiots for not harnassing it.
7- That's never stopped any of the countless royal claimants in real history, and why should it stop Zuko or Iroh? The only reason they don't rally support is the plot.

Yeah - the film didn’t realize make Bison seem like much of a threat: more like a wannabe Napoleon with a bunch of poorly-conceived ideas about how to dominate a modern world. I mean seriously, did he really expect to kidnap the queen of England? And why roll out your new currency *before* it has value from said kidnapping? And that assumes that the British government even agrees to the exchange rate after the kidnapping - which is unlikely to happen since the monarchy doesn’t really have power anymore!
There are so many holes in this plan that there’s no way to could succeed without a lot of natural 20s being rolled in the due course of events...

Say what you want about the Street Fighter movie. As a person who isnt a major SF Fan, I love the movie. It's the most 80s movie I've ever seen. It's campy and has some great actors in it. The story is nothing to write hone about but it's just a fun ride.

Also I can kind of see why Bison wouldn’t consider Chun Li a threat, she literally had no previous accomplishments fight wise and Bison even mentioned that she relied on Balrog and Honda for muscle. Raul Julia was not just a great actor but he was a devoted actor. This character is stupid, ridiculous and destined to be a joke. And he still played the hell out of it. I actually saw the anime version of Street Fighter before I was even aware of the movie. The anime version of M.Bison was actually good, as were the other characters.

You know the most glaringly stupid thing done by Bison's troops? When the guy guarding Dhalsim tries to radio security and gets knocked out, and they do nothing. If YOU were manning the radio, and you heard "Security, this is-- CLANG" and then nothing, wouldn't you go into full alert? Like, they literally heard one of their comrades come over the radio, try to call security, get interrupted by an obvious attack, and then go quiet. That should have been red alert lockdown. Hell, and granted this would have been more good timing than anything, but had they gone into full alert and locked down the base, odds are Guile's attack would have failed lol.
I am actually a big fan of the streetfighter movie. Yes, I said it, so sue me.
Even I will admit the movie is not without its faults.
And Bison, although his over-the-top villainy does have a certain charm to it, at least in my opinion, is perhaps one of the biggest.
She's egotistical, narcissistic, overconfident in his own abilities, incompetent in the execution of his plans, he continuously underestimates his enemies, although he probably did make a very excellent point about how it Ken, Ryo, Chun Li, Honda, and Balrog works together they might actually have been more successful in taking bison down instead of tripping over each other.
Even some of Bison's own minions, i.e. DJ and Sagot, can see that Bison is, what did Sagot call him? Oh yes "a raving lunatic."
It is doubtful that Bison would have succeeded even without the interference from Guile and the a.n., Although doubtless there would've been a lot more bloodshed and civilian casualties.
A much smarter dictator would have probably paid for their guns with gold, which never loses its value, and recognized his superconductor technology into a giant EMP of some sort.
