Honestly I think after these recent changes bounty prepping is in a good spot. Only weekly bounties really matter, so its a small amount of time each week to prep, and if destinyrecipe is to be believed it will get you 7 artifact mods and +5 power when the expansion drops.
For anyone serious about bounty prepping might I suggest: - The 27 Weekly Bounties available in the game - 7 Gunsmith Bounties - 8 Dreamin City Daily Bounties - 18 Bounties from Neomuna/Throne World or Xur (Dares) When Finals Shape comes around you can buy a weekly quest from Petra which asks to finish 8 daily Bounties thats why the dailies from Dreaming City. The other bounties all give vendor xp aswell so it gives drops before you hit the softcap. Will it be the defining difference maker? No, will it help a little, yes. If you are already overprepering why not go the extra mile.
@@carnage9536 Yeah but you need to level your stuff for during the campaign too I believe. So an extra drop here or there is a nice to have. Like I said prob not the biggest difference maker but could be a little help.

I hope you guys know that quests take up bounty slots, so if you have unfinished quests that you don't plan on finishing before final shape. Delete them now and you can pick them up from the kiosk later.
Already finished as much as I can this week. I have one more empire hunt and the weekly ascendant challenges from now until then. My prep now is maxing out as much materials as possible. Aside from 2 ascendant shards needed to buy tarabah the rest of my season is just prism and shard farming. Cosmodrome has 2 bounties to stack, the moon has four and the dreaming city has two initially but since you hold the blind well one you only get one weekly ascendant challenge per character per week until TFS, Neomuna has two weeklies as well as the weekly from Xur for legend dares of eternity are all XP++.
i have bounty prepped before, but as a casual i did it just for getting the season reward track goodies sooner when i dont have lots of time for that upcoming season because of reasons. i dont raid or play endgame so having the bonus power and artifact unlocks were never a concern of mine.
Ive never had to bounty prep for day 1 because I play the game enough that I'd be able to max artifact in time but this time is different since we only have 3 days before the raid opens up. Kinda wish they stuck with giving me a week to play and mess around with builds/artifact instead of putting me on a time crunch.
I’d also like to mention for new/returning players - do NOT hold onto seasonal bounties. Those go away at the end of the year. I’d also be cautious about keeping Onslaught bounties since the activity is staying but social space is moving.
You'd only be able to hold a single Onslaught weekly from Arcite, but I think they are getting deleted anyways since both the social space and associated unlocks (Parade Armor, Superblack shader) are confirmed to be unavailable when TFS drops.
I would need to complete or abandon a bunch of quests to make room for more bounties if I wanted to effectively bounty prep. I'll get around to most of those quests someday, but I don't foresee it being within the next 3 weeks.
I'm someone who does all the Master raids, seals and all end game activities but I'm not bounty prepping. I've been told to by my team but cmon, worst case I'll just run div in day 1 and not need any artifact mods lol
Personally, I'm going into my first (and possibly last) Day 1 raid with Fate of the God's, but im not going to bounty prep at all. I'll be playing the game on launch day up to the raid time, so I'm certain I'll be fine. Best of luck to everyone who's going in! It's the last one for the next two years apparently.
Didn’t Bungie say they were changing the way bounties work? That you will only be able to complete bounties with one character and the XP will be shared across all characters?
I only have 4 vanguard bounties prepped that I have to kill. I needed space for Lectern bounties, anyways. It really isn't that big of a deal as everybody makes it lol I feel like those people who condemn Vanguard, Crucible and Gambit bounties being removed don't really prep in the first place. All power to them, but we have a lot more sources
But… the new season, or whatever they are calling it, isn’t starting until AFTER the raid is completed, right? So wouldn’t there NOT be a seasonal artifact to level up prior to raid? I’m confused on this point.
Uh, Fallout, the Artifact isn't releasing for Day 1... If I understood what they said about the reason for the Raid being in 3 days time, Episodes, at least the first one after each Expansion release, is going to be locked until Day 1 raid is done. How this will affect Champions is unknown, but I assume since we can just use class abilities to stun, it shouldn't matter too much.
My guess is we will have the current artifact until the episode drops. That or it's gonna be a whole rework on the system that they haven't told us yet
The reality that no one is talking about is how the new "bounty" system is ACTUALLY killing the repeatable bounties that grant Bright Dust. This is why Bungie was giving us a fuckton of it before Final Shape, so they look generous and then silently remove the only real source of gaining more outside of the seasonal rewards (which is hit-or-miss).
Do we know how much EXP the quests Variks & the Nightmare table give? The weapon quests & Empire Hunt quests, I've collected a bunch, but don't know how much they're worth.
Are they though? Most of the bright dust comes from the challenge itself not necessarily the bounties. And I guarantee you the challenge will stay. Plus it’s not like there is a lack of bright dust in the game. Even without the weekly bright dust from the store you get mountains of it.
@Eggy…. I could make 500+ bright dust from just playing crucible for a couple hours. You don’t know how to do it correctly. You can complete 2-3 bright dust bounties every single match in 6v6. And if you are grinding those bounties in strikes you should complete all 5 every strike, that’s 50 bright dust per strike. You aren’t doing this correctly if you think that measly 120 they give us is anything more than table scraps.
@@josephsmith2417 I do the ritual activity challenges a handful of times a season, never do repeatable bounties and am still able to buy anything I want per week, have 60k saved, buy the event armor sets every time and get more every event.
