To help fund more hydrogen engine projects like this, I am now able to supply the Hydrogen Flashback Arrestor used in this video 😀
A key safety element in all hydrogen systems.
feel free to reach out on my Facebook page: facebook.com/hydrogenguys

What's the ratio of hydrogen you harvest per kilo of aluminum? How many liters it would produce per kilo?

It’s been along time since I used this method, but around 20grams of pure aluminium would fill the gas tank in the video to 50psi

Did you vacuum the air out of the tank. Before filling it with gas, this can be pretty dangerous. I think it's too risky to have a steel tank unless you have a good purity tester to make sure no oxygen got in. But most of the people who blow themselves up have split cells that aren't splitting properly. And I understand you're using a chemical reaction.

      Hi.
Yes air is sucked out the tank before being filled. And an oxygen sensor is used to test the gas quality. I believe anymore than 4% oxygen is dangerous. The split cell method is more common however like you said if not done right some of the oxygen can get into the tank.

Are u still alive? I'm thinking about doing somwthing like this. How's the project going?

Still alive thanks, the hydrogen engines are still going too. Just not had time to make any more videos.

@@Hydrogenguys 👍🏻 brilliant. Any tips on where to start? I'm just doing general research atm.

@@Hydrogenguys Hey have you had any issues with hydrogen embrittlement in your engines?

    • @Hydrogenguys
      @Hydrogenguys  Рік тому +2

@@mememan2344 yes! After around 6hours of running the piston head started to have what looked like small cavities . All concentrated around text or rough edges on the piston.
I have a 50cc engine what doesn’t suffer from this and I think that’s because the piston in that engine is smooth to a mirror finish.
Safe to say water injection for cooling and a smooth piston helps reduce the embrittlement issues

@@Hydrogenguys I will definitely add water injection in that case as I am about to start using hydrogen only for a power source for all my projects, and I'm hoping that the generators will survive a while. It seems that with adapting ICE for hydrogen use, water injection is not optional. Thank-you for responding, and I hope to see more about the engines in the future.

You should study the details of the car/ lawnmower conversion to water vapor pressure + hydrogen from You tube videos 1+2 - S1R9A9M9 from 2008. Also see prop plane ran on water + Hydrogen from exaust heat steam and Tesla coil during 1940's. See Hefferlin Manuscript from Internet or purchase back issue Amazing Stories Magazine Sept1946.
Also oil furnace ran on water during 1950's in Texas. SS tubing on water line in fire pot heats with oil to 1500 degrees . When super heated steam , oil valve shut off. Hydrogen/oxygen torch flame continues. Shock wave of heated vibrating molecules pop apart when going out tiny nozzel to the ambient pressure. US Patent was not allowed, only 50% increase in efficiency.

I'd like to see that, do you have links to these. Thanks. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya
