His actual form if it reflected his age would have been pale disfigured and missing 3 limbs. I’m pretty sure Shaw was also too old and didn’t reflect the age correctly anyways.
As someone who grew up on the original version, first time I saw the DVD re-release with Hayden..... I loved it! It was great seeing a character that we had been watching throughout the prequels turn from light to dark... seeing how tragic his character was to see him there fully redeemed, it was beautiful! Even seeing him in Ahsoka as a force ghost was fantastic as well. I still love both versions.
I always assumed that force ghosts can control what they look like, and Anakin decided to make himself look like as he did before he burned on Mustafar. Obi-Wan and Yoda didn't know this.
Shaw was far too old for Anakin anyway!! He was 45 when he died, not an old man!! And as this was the point he turned, it makes perfect sense he would appear as his younger self…🤷🏻♀️
Indeed. Shaw was great for the scene where Luke takes off Vader's mask, but he never made sense as the Force Ghost of a man who died in his mid-40s. Which was in direct contradiction with what had been clearly established in the movies: Anakin was still very young when he became Vader ("a *young* pupil of mine..."), and it happened not long before the twins were born, which is why Obi-Wan and Yoda had to hide the babies in haste for fear the Emperor would find out that Anakin had offsprings. Seeing as Luke and Leia are canonically 23 in ROTJ, if we do the math there's no way Anakin could have been older than 45-50 tops when he died.

Hayden makes even less sense because how would Luke even know who that is. Shaw age isn’t an issue considering that yoda is an example that you can still be strong at an old as long you’re strong with the force.

Also the only appearance he would have been able to take that would be of his current age would be the gray limbless charred corpse he was without his suit. All in all the shaw appearance just wouldn’t even be possible.
@@Greenhawk4 Age wouldn’t be a problem if Lucas didn’t make the characters so young in the prequels, it’s fine if Shaw was in his seventies considering that was the intention at the time. In the original cut it was clear that was Anakin because the communication was there. Throwing in Hayden makes it even confusing. Lastly, any bodily harm wouldn’t appear in ghost form and that’s shown through obi wan’s form because he would probably appear like he was cut in half.
@@PainKiller18775 Obi-wan was never cut in half he became one with the force the second the saber made bodily contact and even then like the first point you keep ignoring he wouldn’t know what he would have looked like at that age without his injuries. It also wouldn’t make sense for his Hayden form to have the injuries because it’s his form before he turned to the dark side and before he was severely injured.

Well, Sebastian’s would be more accurate because Vader turned back from the Dark Side to the good, and therefore he was again truly Anakin. The worst edition of all is still adding a moving head and squeaking sound to Sarlacc given that the creature digested its pray over a 1000 years, which means it would have an extremely slow metabolism and it would not have much physical energy for movement. I like the original Return of the Jedi version better, it’s the only one in my view that got ruined with the retouches.
So millennials like most things that the world only started when their existence started. The reason he’s younger is because the older and real force ghost is now dead and he needed the younger one for further films. One day the stupid will just stay quiet

And of course, if I ever were to have my children watch the movies, I’d hope they would be okay with watching 4, 5, and 6 first, just as it should be, then like twenty or twenty-five minutes of episode 1, maybe 5 minutes of episode 2 for context, then let them watch ROTS so they can feel the full climactic rise of the empire. And then, of course, they’d never be allowed to watch episodes 7, 8, or 9 because they are tragedies of disgusting human waste. Haha nope not in MY house, imaginary kids!

I bet when Anakin appeared to Leia as a Force Ghost in the Legends novel Truce at Bakura. Readers back in 1993 imagined Shaw in his place.

The Senate building and temple were both added in 2004. The planet of Coruscant was added in 1997.
